Occidental JF Puebla-Barceló Hotel Group

This is it!

Great hotel. Service is excellent. Clean!Clean!Clean! Very close to downtown (less than 10 minutes). The buffet is Ok but I think it’s kind of expensive (about 12 dollars). Other than that if you can afford it “this is it “.

NH Puebla Centro Histórico

Would only go for the location

Really great location, less than a 10 minute walk from the Zocalo. The hotel itself, however, was quite disappointing. We had to change rooms after the first day, as the key card reader on our room wouldn't work. The housekeeping didn't come until 6pm, until we made a request to come earlier in the day. In the gym, they really need to put up a curtain or blinds, as the sun beats down on you and blinds you while on the treadmill. We didn't even bother trying breakfast, after other reviews here. The staff at least were friendly, especially the valets. I would possibly return for the location, but there may be better hotels for the same price in a similar location.

City Express Puebla Angelópolis

average Hotel

The location of the hotel was not as close to the Centro as was advertised. The free shuttle service was nice and it made up for distance to the centro. Take advantage of this service. You need to ask about it the shuttle service was never offered. The driver David was a great source of information as he was born there and had good local knowledge. The hotel itself was adequate for the price. The bed was hard and the room had a slight smell to it, but nothing overwhelming. The room was clean and that for me is the most important. The continental breakfast was pretty much what you would expect from a free breakfast. Dont go eat at the restaurant right in front of the hotel in the same parking lot. It wasbad and poor service to boot. Overall not a bad place to stay for the cost.

Beautiful bed and breakfast in a nice neighborhood

Beautiful bed and breakfast in a nice neighborhood a couple of blocks from the pyramid and the "Socalo" (the word that seems to be used for the main square/plaza). The hotel staff is superb, they are all extremely nice and very helpful. The place itself is an interesting structure that used to be a hacienda, with rustic furniture and a nice fountain/garden area. The breakfasts are very well-prepared and delicious. I cannot fault anything at all with the hotel or its staff - they are all superb. There's an upscale jazz club down the street, and a very upscale restaurant about a block the other way down the street. The main market and access to the pyramid are all within a few blocks from the hotel. The neighborhood itself is also friendly and safe, we didn't feel like there were any issues even walking around at night.
