The Tremont Chicago Hotel at Magnificent Mile

This was a great hotel for the price. The location allowed us to easily maneuver the city. Mike Ditka's restaurant is attached and served as a terrific source of cocktails and nourishment. A nightcap at the Signature Lounge, in the John Hancock building, is less than a block away. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. It definitely added to our weekend in Chicago as a great experience.

The hotel is very old and outdated. My two biggest complaints are that there are no refrigerators in the room and there is only one ice machine located in the lobby. Pretty inconvenient. The rooms are also on the smaller side and very, very old. However, they were clean and beds were comfortable. Front desk staff were very pleasant and you really can’t beat the location. There are buses and a lot of great places to eat nearby.

I am compelled to write a poor review of this hotel due to the overwhelmingly terrible experience we had. We spontaneously decided to take few days off and go to Chicago for vacation. I didn’t have a lot of time, so I quickly booked this hotel late one night. I chose this one due to its location—as I always stay in a hotel within walking distance to major sights. First of all, my husband and I have stayed in 4-star hotels all over the world, and we can say for sure that this does not measure up to the standard of a 4-star hotel. Our first room was the most shabby and unsightly hotel room I’ve ever seen. The furniture was all scratched up, there was rotting, cracked bits of wood in places. The bathroom was outdated, gross, and the toilet was the most horrendous thing I have ever seen-a giant spaceship type of monstrosity. The room was as outdated and unsightly as can be. We got a view of the dumpsters. I called the front desk and asked to clarify if this is indeed a 4-star hotel, and told her that just about everything in our room is falling apart. I asked for another room—one with a normal toilet. She sent us to a different one, which was slightly better. It was still gross, and there was that same horrendous toilet and nasty bathroom. I called and told her this was much better but the toilet—which did hurt to sit on—was present here too. She said nothing else is currently available. We decided to just deal with it. No temperature control, room service, water. Poor service

My daughter and I stayed here in December 2016 for a shopping weekend. It's an older hotel with small rooms, but was clean and well maintained. Location is perfect, it was also nice having Ditkas restaurant attached so we didn't have to go out in the Sub-Zero cold for dinner!

Great boutique hotel in a fantastic location! Rooms were clean and comfortable. No issues at all!

Walking to everywhere downtown and close to El. Quiet rooms.

We LOVED this hotel! The bed was absolutely amazing. We walked every where, navy pier, soldier field, etc. and felt that the hotel was in a great location!

came for a sibling reunion - we all stayed at this Tremont --- nice to all be together and with Starbucks across the street!

Hotel staff was outstanding - location was perfect. Will definitely return.

The room was very clean but tiny. Bed was comfy and the hotel was quiet. Right off magnificent mile.

This was a last-minute, one-night stay booked at the Tremont for a Monday night. The online reservation was for a Queen bed, but we were upgraded to a very comfortable King bed upon check-in. The room size is just fine for one person, or a couple. The bathroom needed an update. Breakfast was $10 a person in the morning. It was good but could have been a better spread.

My husband & I travel frequently, and we're excited to find such a great deal on a hotel that was close to many of the places we wanted to see on our first visit to Chicago. I usually avoid tourist traps, but he magnificent mile was a good central location for us, and the Tremont was nice because it is tucked ba ck from mag mile by a block. Our room overlooked a beautiful Catholic Church/seminary, was good sized & clean. There were some amenities that need to be added (mini fridge!) and the bathroom needed updating, however overall we had a good experience. This trip was for leisure, so I will say that if you are in a hurry, there is one elevator that is quite slow. Go for oyster shooters, filet sliders & innovative drinks (their bloody was fantastic too) at Ditka's, which is attached to the hotel. Go across the street to Pane Caldo for wonderful, authentic Italian food.

The Tremont offers a great location next to Michigan Avenue shopping, restaurants, and transportation. The staff is friendly and service is quite good: if you need anything, it's there in 10 minutes. It's an old, established hotel that's been nicely updated and it's affordable. We visit and stay here yearly.

Great location. Great value, especially considering location. Thanks

We enjoyed our stay. We only stayed overnight and just needed a place to sleep after a wedding ceremony close by. The room was plenty sufficient for our needs. We had a pause in getting settled in our room as we had to wait 30-40 minutes until it was ready but everything went fine after that. Hotel valet parking was steep-$61-so we used a parking garage a block away ( plenty to choose from in the area). Continental breakfast served our needs. Staff was considerate and friendly. We would consider staying again.

You can't beat the location. Because it's attached to Ditka's you always have a dinner/lunch spot to go if you're just too tired to fight the crowds. The staff is very helpful. One of the two days we didn't receive maid service. The other strange thing is that this hotel does not offer two queen beds-only a king or queen which doesn't make it the best spot if you have children. I've stayed here twice and was told that anyway. The location is it's selling point.

The rooms were small, but the staff was very helpful. Great location.

The Tremont hotel is fine. The rooms are small but comfortable, if a little worn around the edges. The location was fantastic, just half a block from the Magnificent Mile and 2 blocks from the Contemporary Art Museum, which is why we were there. I can't complain.

Every thing is not bad. And the overall is good for this price and location.

Rooms felt a bit cramped, but location was really great.
