The Drake Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Our stay began with high tea and ended with a porter telling my daughter, "I was not told a princess would be staying at the Drake..." my five year old daughter is already asking when we will be back at the Drake.
We paid extra for a room with a view and we had a view of a wall. The hotel staff said that we booked it through a third party and it happens all the time. The staff was not nice. We will not go back to The Drake and when booking through Orbitz we will not be fooled by their false claims.
Old, outdated, thin walls, smells, falling apart. Needs a complete makeover top to bottom.
We had a great stay. Loved the room and view of the lake! The bar was so fun as well.
Perfect across the board! Staff, amenities, food- wonderful!
It was a pleasure to stay at the Drake Hotel minus a couple of issues the manager happen to provide excellent customer service and made sure me And my husband left satisfied. We will definitely be back
It was our second time staying at the Drake Hotel and just loved it. Beautiful hotel and the staff was just great..
Outstanding hotel. Classic service. What more can I say?
Very festive. Great decorations through out the lobbys. Clean room-620 clock radio did not function, wrong time, would not reset. set alarm clock, on buzz, and it did not buzz-just flached a very small red "buzz lite" Nice hotel. gvk closet left door knob ripped off-in closet on shelf.
Our room was the size of a postage stamp, wallpaper was peeling, artwork was water stained, and very musty smell. Beware as valet parking was $68.00/night!
The room at the Drake was beyond belief. It was very spacious, the amenities were fabulous and it made our visit feel like we were "home" - not in a hotel.
Room service said it would be 25 min. and they took 45 mins.
Had dinner in the Cape Cod Room...Awesome. The breakfast buffet awesome as well..I plan to return sometime in April.
needed a place to get ready and go out for a concert, this was ideal, close to dining and shopping. beautiful historic hotel to explore.
Need bubble bath, besides that it's an amazing hotel that I would definitely visit again.
Close to downtown, convenient to shopping and the beach and to stores
I was very annoyed that after arriving very exhausted I has to wait almost 3 hours to get toy room. Was told that the occupants had a late check out so I had to wait.
Grand hotel in the style of luxurious travel. Something we don't usually enjoy in todays high tech world. Once in a while it's great to slow down and take a walk along Michigan Ave as a tourist instead of the speed racer on my way to the next critical meeting or vital appointment. People become more interesting and the landscape more colorful. I'll do the same thing when I have the time and opportunity.
We had a family vacation in chicago and booked a suite at drake for three nights. The room is well decorated and has a classic feel to it. Clean, comfy, roomy, good price for three people! Location is awesome if you like to shop. The art gallery at first floor is a pleasant surprise. Only complaint: I am picky about shampoos and soaps. Drake could improve a bit on that aspect. Peter roth is a good brand, but too generic. I can travel to any comfort inn and see the same shampoo. The Drake can definitely find something more local or romantic than that.
