Truly enjoyed my stay, was in a king bedroom suite. The room is comfy. The library room lounge is ideal for coffee, adult beverage, work, reading, just lounging by the fireplace, play board games, a very nice area to spend quality time alone or with others as they pipe in awesome background music. The location is in nice proximity to restaurants- up Main Street, or to Olde Town, a few blocks away. Hotel summons taxis instantaneously. It is also a couple of blocks from the train station and water in the other direction. Entire staff was there to help.

Beautiful lobby and common areas. Rooms super basic, nothing too fancy.

Classic Chicago Hotel with impeccable service and staff. One block from Rush Street, great restaurants, and Clubs. So many restaurant choices! Parking is at a premium so prepare for high$. Very updated. I always look for 4 things. Security, cleanliness, TV, bed. Public Hotel Chicago delivered! The staff and location were a bonus. Thank you Thomas and the parking staff.

I have stayed at Public before and I was so happy to return. Set in the historic and beautiful Gold Coast neighborhood, Public is a seamless blend of old world charm and a clean, modern esthetic. We love the Zen decor of the rooms, the library for a relaxing breakfast and the beautiful bar and Pump Room for drinks and dinner. The staff is friendly and welcoming... I can't wait to return!!

We had some issues with the room - loud heater fan, tv remote not working, bad wifi connection and the bathroom door didn't close properly. However, the staff were very helpful and we were given a another room. We were there over the Christmas weekend and didn't realise that the restaurant was booked out for Christmas dinner. Since most restaurants were closed on the day, we had to spend a lot of time finding an alternative. It would have been appreciated if we were encourage to book a table while checking in to avoid disappointment.

Public is a beautiful hotel located in the Gold Coast, walking distance to shopping, restaurants, bars and Oak Street beach. This hotel has a hip, cool vibe, with modern amenities. We loved the coffee shop in the Library, Pump Room for cocktails and the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We used valet service and that process was efficient as well. Check out the new Restoration Hardware Store located one block West of hotel... We enjoyed a glass of wine while touring the 5 floors of furnishings and had lunch in the atrium which was a really cool experience. Carmines is a local Italian restaurant which offers amazing choices. Overall, we will return to Public because it's off the beaten path, quiet yet walkable to everything we love about Chicago.

Nice quiet hotel still within walking distance to lots of the city's hot spots. Staff goes above and beyond for guests. Would definitely come again.

The Public Hotel impressed me with the style and ambience throughout the entire building. We wanted to just relax and enjoy the immediate surroundings which was easy to do at this property. Can't wait to celebrate again so we can return here...

Elegant clean and comfy. I never stayed in a room with so much white in it! Even though I was in downtown Chicago I didn't want to leave my room ;)

Hotel was good but I thought the overnite parking at $56 was high for a hotel guest

Good location comfortable and the staff was excellent

This was my fourth time staying at Public. I have always found it clean friendly and super convenient in location! Would recommend it to anyone!

It was World Series weekend at Wriglwy field so place was packed so service was a bit slow. One morning only one person available at desk with many people needing service. Very clean, quiet rooms except for a very loud hearing/at system which went on and off frequently.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very small and the bed was almost like sleeping on the floor. The bathroom was very small and there was no counter space. We were very uncomfortable.

Great location - near lake , transit , shopping ; very helpful hotel staff .

Great restaurant and bar in the hotel in a quiet, but beautiful part of the city. Very close to all other areas of the city. Rooms were clean, and very nice. Would definitely stay again if I were to go back.

4 days with no turn down service during a 6 day stay. Manager Tony and operations director Garette were less than helpful and contacted me once I already checked out. Totally unacceptable and only comped my parking...no vouchers, nothing. I will not be visiting this hotel again. Worst customer service and incompetence from the desk, bell men, housekeeping to the top. Pretty sad and definitely disappointed my trip from California was tarnished by this place. And I stayed last year for a week as well.

overall it was pleasant stay. location wise this hotel it is superb. the hall ways are a bit old the carpet need to be replace at least on my floor rush street it is 2 block away you dont need to go anywhere else to find a great restaurant or if the mood is for shopping you are at the right place

Rude front desk staff. Very confused. Requested room service and my room wasn't serviced. They didn't do anything to make it right. It's my second time here and my last.
