I stayed in a private room for 3 nights recently and although I was mostly drawn to HJP on price grounds, I thought the location and hosts were both excellent. Nestled very close to the Blue Line (ideal for trips to and from the airport), I would stay again. Only drawback was the private rooms don't have en suite bathrooms. PS. Very thankful for the support we had whilst my friends both had food poisoning!

I loved the Holiday Jones, just perfect for what I needed for a few days in Chicago. Wonder price fantastic locationright in the blue line. You can be anywhere in the city center within minutes thanks to Chicago’s CTA.. It was extreme enjoyable, comfortable for a hostel the cafe’s empanadas are certainly worth a bite!

Probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Clean, modern, great staff. Location is superb - close to restaurants and bar, felt totally safe and it's also a 5 mins walk to the blue line which is a great train line. Also attached to a lovely coffee shop with great empanadas!! Can't rate this place high enough!!

Near Subway Blue line. Clean and safe. Nice decoration even very simple.Just what we've need for a 4 days trip to visit Chicago.Nice area. A Target just in front very usefull cause we can use the kitchen.

I booked a bed in a 3-bed dorm, but the other guests had to check out in the middle of the night. I had some real trouble sleeping that week, so wasn't pleased with the setup. Luckily the Jones was not fully booked so I could upgrade to a single room. I was so grateful. The room was weird enough much roomier than the room with the 3 beds in it. With a nice view on the street. The hostel was clean, not noisy at all. Bathrooms and showers were clean and I there more available per floor, so I never had to wait to use one. The common room in the basement was big, with perfect wifi (that didn't work as good in my room), there was kitchen we could use and we could use the fridge. The reception did have a great selection of amenities, like shampoo, razors, toothpaste, water, all for a fair price. Very thoughtful! The coffee in the cafe on the ground floor was the best in town! Don't forget to show them your key to your room for a 10% discount. I will be staying here, if I have the chance to be back in Chicago again. The Blue line has an easy connection to O'Hare and to downtown, and the buses around the corner are also very convenient.

Can't beat the location (right on the Blue line), close to a major intersection with multiple bus lines). Fab coffee and empanadas in their shared-space cafe. Worthwhile to use their common facilities (full kitchen!). Comfy bed, high-quality linens. Only drawbacks: shower I used had very, very low pressure, and a requested wake-up knock (to be sure to get to the airport early!) never happened.

I was on a baseball road trip with a buddy of mine and we stayed here twice in one week. Check in was smooth. The guy that checked us in the first time was super helpful and friendly. He explained how to get to the closest CTA station, where you can get a percentage off your bill (Bangers and Lace), and the house rules. He then showed us to our room. We opted for the double private room with it's own bathroom. Room was a decent size (if you have never hosteled....dont expect a hotel sized room. Its enough room to sleep and get ready in...lol...you're in Chicago...explore!). Room was very clean. Bathroom was clean. Windows in the room open if you find it too warm/stuffy. Common area is down in the basement. Very clean and big. TV with cable, some fox ball tables, a kitchenette and refrigerator. If you are lucky like we were, you might find some beer in the "free" drawer (leave behinds from previous guests)! The lobby also has a separate business called 5411 Empanadas I believe. The Empanadas were so good! I had the Chicken Curry and the Breakfast one....omg! They're like 2.50 a piece. About the size of your palm....you could eat 10! All in all, great stay! 5 minute walk to the Blue Line. Food options in the area. Clean and classy. Thanks Holiday Jones!

I stayed 2 nights in this hostel in Wicker Park, a cool neighbor not far from downtown by public transit. The location was fantastic, just around the corner from the blue line, which brings you both to the Loop and to O'Hare. Despite many people telling me that traveling alone in Chicago wasn't safe, I took the L multiple times, and at night, and didn't feel unsafe in this neighbourhood. There's conveniences all round the hostel, a cool café onsite, a small Target across the street, and bars and restos aplenty. The room itself was a tad small, with not a lot of space for 4 people to share, but it was manageable if you are used to hostels. Everything was very clean, the bathrooms were modern and plentiful, though they were all private shower/toilet in one, so if you really had to pee while someone was in the shower you could be in for a wait.

I stayed at Holiday Jones for 2 nights during my visit to Chicago in summer, May 2018. This is good hotel especially for solo travellers as this is hostel. You can get private room with double Bed. Rooms are congested but ok if your are solo or group travellers. Its location is perfect from the point of commutation, safety and security. Its is just 100 meters away from Division Metro station . Also Chicago Loop and ORD airport is just 20 min drive away by metro so perfect for travellers who are gonna use public transport. It is located in good area so no worries of night travelling ( we used to return around 11 in night. ) also hotel is surrounded by cafes & restaurants. Only drawback is AC system. It has centralised so you have to be patient till the room gets cooled.

I stayed here with a couple friends for a festival and the location was perfect with a great price. There's tons of stuff to do in the neighborhood, free parking nearby, 24hr staff, they have great empanadas and the whole decor was very interesting and cool, there were shared bathrooms but with so many it was never a problem and they were always clean, will probably stay again next year.
