Hard Rock Hotel Chicago

Overall, the hotel is a great place to stay. It's a little pricey, but it is beautiful and close to the action in the city. The only negative, which seemed to have an impact on a number of people, was that not all elevators were working during our 4-day stay.

We were in town to visit Navy Pier. The site offered a discount on this hotel so we chose it but didn't see the discount deducted. The reviews said the hotel was a bit run down but we didn't notice anything wrong in our room. The lobby is a bit dull and we expected more displays and pictures of bands and artists. But overall everything was fine, clean and comfortable. Anne was friendly and helpful at check in. We could have used more towels. Really, only two of everything. I realize I could have called down but didn't inventory until very late night and didn't want anyone coming to the room at that time. Note, although the address is Michigan Avenue, valet parking is on Wacker.

Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Walking distance to the Bean and Art Institute.

Amazing views from the room and very close to downtown. First time in Chicago, great experience!

The hotel staff was so nice! The location was perfect too, walking distance to most everything we wanted to do in Chicago. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is nice and it's in the middle of Michigan ave. which makes it very convenient for people who are touring the city.

hotel was in a good location. Bathroom tile flooring was loose so every time you walked on them it was uncomfortable. Bathroom light on makeup mirror didn't work and grouting in shower was missing on several tiles. Because of this I give the room a 2 1/2 out of 5

I bought a suite room on the 36th floor. It was in very bad disrepair... On top of being filthy and finding a pile of hair in the bathroom corner the room was just old, beat up and gross. There was loose tiles n the bathroom, it looked as if the front door was kicked in multiple times, every piece of furniture was broken and scratched up, the carpet was stained, the walls were paper thin and it sounded like my neighbors were actually in my room... This place looked like it has been ridden hard by some frat boys who came to Chicago to party. This place ties for the worst place to stay at in Chicago next to the Palmer house Hilton. yuck. Never again. Going back to either the Hotel Palomar or Loews..

Hard rock hotel on Michigan ave is just under a mile from the John Hancock tower, just over a mile from Willis Tower, Millennium park is only 3 or so blocks away. Friendly staff, very helpful at check in and Check out. King size bed is comfy with nice all white comforter. Good bathroom toiletries. "Chucks restaurant has a really good burger. Giordanos pizza is across the street, along with CVS pharmacy and 7-11 is around the corner. Easy to get to by train from ORD. Blue line is about 45 minutes from ORD and then just a 4 block walk to hotel. If you arrive early just leave your bags at the bell desk and have breakfast and then walk to a tourist site to kill some time. River walk is a few blocks away and Morton Steak house is right next door. Would recommend for people who like rock and hip music.

Hard rock hotel Chicago has a great location. Right on Michigan ave in a historic building, the river walk is only 3-4 blocks away. Millennium park and the Millennium beam are 2 blocks away. 7-11, and CVS pharmacy are around the next block. Giordanos pizza is a block away and Willis tower is about 1 mile away. Very friendly staff who help you with fast Check in . Good restaurant at Chucks in the hotel, and room was clean with a comfy King bed with plush comforter. I took the blue line from Ohare for $3 at about 45 min trip. Walked 4 blocks and arrived. Good stay and would stay again.

The location was great. Everything is in walking distance so no need to get a taxi or uber. Lots to do within a short distance and down the street from millennium park and the train station.

First off I want to say I have stayed at this hotel 4 times and each time was great. This last visit was not good. The staff of the hotel are tremendous so no complaints there and that's why they scored as high as they did. Everything started of fine we arrived early and our room was ready. The room was a tower king on the 25th floor and everything seemed fine until we tried to sleep. The floor we were on only had 2 rooms. The mechanical room was on our floor and all we heard all night was the banging of the elevator counter weights and they were very loud! The air conditioning did not work and was almost 80 degrees at night in the room! this floor should not have a single room on it and the fact that I was given this room as a returning guest was ridiculous! Apparently there were no other rooms available so we were stuck in this room even though we had booked the room and prepaid months in advance. The furniture looked as though it was picked up off the street the mattress was horrible and there was what felt like a hole in the floor covered up by the carpet! I'm not sure if I received this room because I booked through Orbitz but it had to be the worst room in the hotel. The experience was so bad that I will not be returning to the Hard Rock Chicago for any future trips I take to the windy city.

Had one day to see the sights. This hotel was close to the Bean and a River/Lake cruise. Use Uber and A taxi for the rest. Great stay in great location! Loved the spacious room!

This place was probably cool 20 years ago but it feels like they stopped putting any effort into it after that. Elevators don't work, fridge was missing, tablet was broken, air conditioning didn't work.....Hard Rock has a great name but that was about all this location had to offer.

Staying in the landmark of Chicago is one of the best decisions I've made planing my trip. Both exterior and interior of the hotel reflect the great era of American architecture and design. Abundance of restaurants, taverns and bars in the walking distance with live music. Theaters, museums - it is all within 15 minutes walk.

Nice view, bathroom tile coming up, broken lamps, chips bumps and scrapes on the wall, filthy curtains

The hotel is right off Michigan Ave. and it is easy to access anywhere within the city. The hotel staffs are nice and room is conformable. The wifi was relative weak. Valet parking is available for multi-in/out.

Love the rock history and paraphenelia ! Was perfect for our last minute weekend getaway

Next stop heaven...because I thought I was there!!!

I truly enjoyed my stay at the Hard Rock. Great location, wonderful facilities, and very clean. However, I will say that technologically and logistically, there are some things the hotel has to fix. The tablet in my room (which you contact room service from) was broken. The elevators were malfunctioning for most of my stay. Finally, they didn't follow through with my requested wake up call (thankfully I set my phone alarm). The Hard Rock is still an amazing hotel, and I would recommend it to my friends- but they need to work on improving these logistical details.

Hello Ian! Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us feedback. While we do strive to create an excellent experience for each guest, obviously we fell far short of the mark on this one. We sincerely apologize that the quality of your room was not up to par. We will work to address these issues, and we hope that next time you're in the city you will give us another shot! Warm regards, HRHC
