My main reason for traveling was to bring my sister, her daughter and 3 dogs across the country to Ohio from Las Vegas. This hotel was excellent with front desk service, very friendly, they have an indoor pool, and great continental breakfast.
Slept like a baby.. room was clean (I always inspect the mattress..lol) shower was not too good but it served the purpose. Checked in late and staff was cheery and fun ... check out was a breeze too!!! I would recommend.. if you are going to Joliet for court.. plan to make a day of it....
This is an aging property but is very clean and reasonably maintained. The staff at the desk were helpful but not very welcoming. The breakfast and dining area was well stocked each morning and had many options including protein (so many of these do not have that option). This was a clean and well maintained room for a minimum price.
Everytime I've been here everyone has been ride or acts like they could care less if you stay here or not. I highly recommend the Country Inn and Suites or Comfort in just north of here both places have great customer service.
We stayed here one night as we traveled west from Ohio. The accommodations were adequate. The breakfast was very good and filled up the whole family. The highlight was the indoor pool in March. The kids really needed to get some exercise after being stuffed in a van for the whole day. I would recommend this hotel when traveling.
The location was great for easy access from the highway but not for sleeping. Noisy traffic. Other reviews say the location is quiet so it might have been the location of our room...2nd floor, above the front entrance. We always sleep with white noise and we still heard traffic throughout the night. Otherwise it was a very nice hotel. Oh...no friendly good-bye from a person at the front desk as we left. Just a basket for room key drop off.
We stayed on the 3rd floor, the room was very clean and spacious, with microwave and fridge. The queen beds were most comfortable, had plenty of pillows and a down comforter which was light and warm. The bathroom was supplied with large new-looking soft towels, which I really appreciated. The motel offered a complimentary hot breakfast in a spacious, bright and very clean breakfast room. The hot breakfast (scrambled eggs and sausage) was very good, also available were a variety of pastries, breads, yogurt and cold hard-boiled eggs, and an option to make waffles. This was our first stay at a Comfort Inn, and we will definitely stay again at this motel when on another cross country trip.
The room and check inn process was very amicable. The bed was good. The room was Clean and the room temperature was excellent! Breakfast room was clean and the standard layout except no biscuits & gravy like other Comfort Inns I've visited. The only problem was the tall, big receptionist who starts after 7 am has a nasty attitude. I had great customer service from all other hotel staff there, except this morning receptionist who started after 7 am. She starts with ' can I help you,' but her attitude & lack of eye contact leaves you, the customer, with a bad experience. After I left I went for lunch across the street at Cracker Barrel. My waitress was busting her butt working many tables, yet her high spirited attitude and charm helped rid me of the poor experience with the ogre.
I enjoyed my stay here and was expecting to earn my bonus points for the "stay twice and earn a free night" promotion. The next morning at checkout I noticed that my stay was not eligible for Choice Privileges points. Well, I just got off the phone with Choice Privileges member services and they said the hotel modified my reservation to a non-qualifying rate but the hotel denied doing so. Make sure to check your reciept if you are a Choice Privileges member. If anybody wants to know--They would not authorize Choice Hotels to award me the points even though my reservation was eligible for points when made.
I want to give extra kudos to the staff. I forgot, in our room's closet, a very old jacket that I've had for over 40 years. It was bought overseas and has a lot of sentimental value. When I discovered it missing a couple of weeks after getting home, I phoned the hotel directly. Susan was very helpful. They had found the jacket and was waiting for someone to claim it. They sent it to me pronto. Today, I got it in the mail. I don't know too many hotels that will take the extra time to mail back a forgotten item. They were so wonderful and thoughtful. For me, after having a clean room, the staff really make the hotel special. At this comfort Inn they went the extra mile for me.
