Mercure Hotel Narita

Check-in was fast, painless, and the staff was friendly. However the hotel itself could use a complete makeover. Believe me, this mother is old and dingy from top to bottom. And to classify this writer, I'm a firefighter/paramedic from the city of Dallas Texas.. Not necessarily a 5 star guy but 4 star is written all over my forehead. One thing in particular I didn't like was the bathroom odor. You expect a little odor in a public bathroom but not in your hotel bathroom. I remember a large cockroach smashed dead in one of the only two elevators: And there be remained my entire trip. At one point it seems someone stomped on him a second time and shoved him even further against the edge of the elevator. Needless to say, I was always hoping the left elevator would open and not the cockroach elevator on the right. Saving graces...train stops pretty much on the front doorstep, and once outside Narita is at your feet. No need for taxi to find pretty much anything you need if staying for one evening. The restaurants inside are not a reflection of the hotel... They were actually clean and the food was good.

This hotel was chosen because of its close proximity to NRT and having a train station across the street. It was nice to have a more western feeling hotel before returning back to the USA. It was a pleasant stay. And it seemed that none of the staff knew English. But that was not really a problem.

They have no washcloths or body sponges. I asked at the front desk.

For the price, the hotel was more than adequate for an overnight stay. If I had to stay longer, though, The cramped and dated set up might wear on me & I would probably choose to pay more for more roomy or modern amenities. Shuttle service from and to Narita Airport and 1 blk proximity to the train station was a big decision point.

Only one station from Narita airport. And very close to Narita station.

Very conveniently located near Narita train station. Free shuttle bus to Narita airport was a great feat.

The location is verygood to enjoy Narita sightseeing.

I had been in Tokyo for business and traveled to Dubai to visit a friend. I returned to Tokyo and had 16 hour wait until my flight back to the USA so I needed a hotel near Narita. Very helpful staff and excellent transportation to and from the airport terminal. Would recommend this hotel to friends.

it was good enough for the amount i paid for the hotel.

Situated in the center of may be the most excited small Japan town hotel Mercury is the best for short overnight stay and very interesting excursion for largest Temple and garden which I saw before. Many souvenir shops around with good prices. Convenient shuttle to Airport.

I had a pleasant short stay of 15 hours in Narita and this was a perfect value for a good nights rest and welcoming staff along with a good value onsite restaurant.

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very helpful getting me directions and areas to see. They were amazing. I would stay here again.

The hotel is located near both train stations, and is within walking distance of many restaurants. The rooms need updating.

Perfectly affordable hotel for one night transit stay in Narita. No real frills but great location for a taste of Japan in down town Narita. Staff were very friendly and transport to and from airport is smooth.

I will not stay there again if it was free stayed one night

Service to and from the airport was great. A large very comfortable coach picked us up at the airport and brought us back. On-time and complimentary. Check-in and checkout were very streamlined, friendly, professional. The room was not large, but very clean and everything worked. Little amenities like a hot water pot and a soft night gown to climb into made things comfortable.

I was visiting Japan for only one day, so I wanted stay close very close to Narita Airport. The hotel is very close from Nartia station. Also has nice neighborhood to get out.

We were met at the airport by a large luxury bus sent out by the Mercure. Wait time was reasonable and free of charge. The bus took us directly to the Mercure, with no other stops, and a ride time of about 25-30 minutes. Check-in and check-out were hassle free. For a 3-star hotel, the least expensive option we could find online ($118 per night), the layout was nice with a small but clean and comfortable room. Hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Free Wifi provided in the rooms, although there was a period during the morning before checkout when Wifi suddenly disappeared and a call to the staff did not restore it.

It is not a fancy hotel, but it is clean and a great location for a stopover near Narita Airport. It is only 2 blocks from Narita train station. There is a free shuttle to and from the airport, but it does not run very frequently. That is one area that I wish they could improve.

Hotel is OK overall. Pros: Location is great for access to both train lines. The view from the room was great and the climate control was quiet and comfortable. Cons: The swimming pool was closed the whole week we were there even though it was advertised as a hotel amenity. It was misleading to advertise a swimming pool with inviting pictures of the pool that was not available. Also the fitness center was pretty drab and there may have been an additional charge to use it. The room had a persistent dank smell and the carpet was definitely old and worn.
