Together Florence Inn4.0 out of 5.0

I had a major issue with the room: Temperature outside was 20C. The room was terribly hot (34C, even during the night) because central heating in the floor was turned on. Air conditioning turned off. The site says they have. There are mosquitoes roaming during the night which eat you alive if you dare to open the window because of the temperature issue. We couldn’t sleep at all. Recepcionista were polite but there was no way to switch to another room or get a (partial) refund. The solution provided by the reception was to give us fresh water and a bottle of sparkling wine. They also lied to us saying we were getting a refund, then when we were about to check out they tricked us saying no refund was possible because they didn’t receive the payment from Galahotels yet, which was our booking company. We booked and paid four months earlier. This hotel doesn’t deserve a 4 stars rating. Avoid it if you need to sleep after visiting Florence, for your own sanity.
I think this hotel would be better if selling itself as Italian Travelodge. The communal area is very dirty and not quite like the photos. The pool is the size of a toddler pool and the breakfast was inedible with no staff to ask or bring coffee and tea. Rooms are clean, but bed not very comfortable and air con is not as standard you have to harass reception as it is controlled centrally. Mosquitos are just an issue for area as speaking to other people on the plane, but bring a plug in thing and you'll be fine. Location it's about 3 miles from the centre of Florence, nice walk though with amazing Gelato shop a mile away or no 23 bus which is at the bottom of the road and really frequent. If you want luxury don't book, but if you want a cheap holiday then go for it, but not when really hot in case you can't get air con.
We required basic accommodation for four people for which this hotel was perfect. The beds were comfortable, which was the main thing as we were traveling all day and we all got good nights sleep, ready for the next adventure each day. The only problem was that there were many mosquitos, so were bitten throughout the night. The aircon was working on the first day so there weren't any mosquitos, but on the second and third day, the aircon had stopped working. The breakfast was very basic and not very many options for vegetarians. We were also sad to discover on the very last day that you can actually order coffees from a member of staff rather than drink the tepid one left out with the buffet, but we weren't told this, nor did the staff ask if we'd like any hot drinks etc. Other facilities were adequate, however, Wifi was down during our stay, but the staff were really helpful and apologetic about this. The pool was very small and pictures were very misleading as to the size of the pool area. The location was quite good, just on the outskirts of the city centre. We were able to catch one bus (23) from the nearest bus stop, which took us right into the centre. This was a great option to stay somewhere relatively cheap and travel into the city, experiencing local life at the same time.
My husband and I have just returned from a week long stay at this hotel. It is situated just outside Florence; in a small, quiet town called Sorgane. Having arrived from Pisa by train, we caught the 23A bus to the hotel, which is s short walk from the bus stop. The hotel staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly and the inside of the hotel was very clean. Our room was on the first floor (which I had pre requested upon booking) and was clean with a pool view and had a spacious bathroom. At the time of arrival the pool was being drained and cleaned and was ready to use the next day. The pool was checked several times during our stay and further cleaned four days later. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels left everyday.... after a few days extra toiletries were also provided. The air conditioning is set in each room and for the majority of our stay, it was set at 22 degrees which was quite pleasant during the evening. The temperatures were around 38 degrees by day and up to 28 degrees by night outside. During the day the hotel is extremely quiet as most guests were stopping for short periods to visit Florence. This meant that we regularly had the pool to ourselves during the morning and early afternoon. As the weather was so hot, we ventured into Florence during the evenings; catching the 6pm bus and returning around 11:30pm. The buses run every 10-20 minutes defending on the day and time of the day. I personally loved breakfast as I enjoy fruit and pastries but my husband found it rather limiting as he is a cooked breakfast man and there was only bacon and eggs available. The grounds of the hotel could be better maintained and were a little scruffy with long grass etc but this is just a minor observation. The drinks are also expensive.... a bottle of water being €1.50. I have stayed at other Italian hotels where this is provided daily (4 bottles) free of charge. So I was a little disappointed with this. Overall, a comfortable and quiet stay .
I can't stress how shocking this hotel is, in my views it needs shut down. We arrived towards the end of our trip for two nights. Initially the hotel offered air conditioning, parking and a pool hence why it appealed to us. On arrival we are informed the ECONONY ROOMS DON'T HAVE AIR CON, only upgraded ROOMS! The front of house older lady couldn't give less of a damn that's it's 36degrees and the room as anticipated will be unbearable to sleep. She provided us with a useless fan that circulated the warm air and remained unbearable. To my shock others had also fell victim and paid nearly 100 pounds per night and their we ppl Sat outside their ROOMS in the hallway to take advantage of the basic aircon there. The carpet was dirty and stained, the pool was dirty and full of dead bugs. We tried to stay out of this place at all costs. The breakfast was only got for the bin, stale crossiants, crusty slices of cheese and overall an absolute food poisoning risk. I will never return to florence and I hope that for the public this place is shut down.
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The A/C is controlled by the reception and it had problem so we managed to sleep in 29 degrees in August! They gave us a fan so we can sleep and a refund of ten euros per day. Another negative is that the pool wasn't clean at all for both days we stayed there. The breakfast was nice, hotel was clean (except pool) and the staff there were helpful so I guess its a management problem. Its approximately 15 mins away from the center and if you don't have a car you will find it difficult to go back after midnight. Taxi needs 17-25 euros to get u there.
I can say that this hotel was the worst hotel I have ever been to! I think saying that there was no water since we arrived in the hotel is totally enough to avoid this awful hotel. We had booked this hotel for a week but we had to leave the second day after not being able to flush the toilet and take a shower for 2 days and the staff kept saying that they don't know how much it will take till the water problem gets solved. The room temperature was 30 degrees with no air conditioning and it was exactly like a sauna! We couldn't even open the windows because of the mosquitoes! I had to use toilets at the local restaurants because the room toilet was just disgusting after not being able to flush it! One thing that made us even more bothered was that other places close to the hotel such as a pizzeria and a bar had water except this hotel and the staff kept saying that this is a problem in the whole neighborhood which didn't seem true! Regarding the location, it was way far from the city center. It took us 45 min to get to the center by bus and except for a local bar and pizzeria and a very small tobacco shop there is basically nothing close to this hotel and the neighborhood didn't seem nice at all! We asked the hotel to refund our money because the situation was not tolerable at all. The breakfast was terrible too! Not even vegetables like tomatoes or cucumber! I don't know how this hotel has got 4 stars!? It is not even a 2 star hotel in reality! It also said in the website that there is a pool in the hotel which the staff called it a jacuzzi even though all the signs in the hotel say swimming pool which was basically a super small pool and you can't even swim in that! All in all I should say that stay away from this terrible hotel!!! The only reason I gave one star is that the staff, especially Lisa, was trying to be helpful when she saw how desperate we were and could handle our early check out as fast as she could!
No air-conditioning at 34 degree C; No complementary tea bags or instant coffee, in fact, not even glasses, cups or kettles; Two bottles of complementary water for the entire stay no matter how many days; Only one restaurant, which is not in service after breakfast; No vending machines; A 40-minute bus journey or €30 taxi ride from the city centre; Nowhere to get a decent meal in the neighbourhood, nothing much to see or do; A very small, only 1.3 metres deep swimming pool, still with low visibility in the water; Very little toiletry (shower gel, shower caps and tissues, nothing else), and not replenished until all used up; Drainage 60% blocked, cistern faulty, at least in the room where I stayed; Towels not necessarily replaced if not untidily dumped around to clearly show you have used them; Mosquitoes that may keep you awake at night if the heat doesn't. The hotel ruined the first part of my trip and put me in shock as to what Florence was like. I am not joking. Stay elsewhere if you have other choices.
Four of us sweltered in this hotel. The room thermostat read 31c. There was NO air conditioning & NO fans. If we opened the windows, not very safe, we were bitten to death by mosquitoes. The pool was unusable as completely green & you couldn't see the bottom. Decking around it was broken & unsafe. Breakfast was substandard. Stale rolls. Lady on reception was great & very helpful with local restaurants. This is a rundown, uncared for hotel.
Had a pleasant stay, the hotel and pool is quite all right, the hotel itself in a peaceful living area, staff was extremely friendly and supportive, recommend to choose this hotel if you have a car, free parking outside, breakfast was also all right, just lack of vegetables, not even tomatoes or cucumbers. But the rest was good, they also offered a variety fruits and yoghurt. Everything was clean and tidy as well.
