No problem booking the room. easy to find. out of the way of the town but easy access to the motorway or A road. free wi-fi . A petrol station next store if you need disel or petrol. plus with the petrol station a local shop. bus stop outside the hotel for easy access to the centre of chester.
My wife and I stayed at the hotel for 3 days and the hotel is nice and in a good location with good access and good parking the breakfast was nice The room were very clean and large The staff was good and helpful The WIFI worked well
As I have mentioned in previous reviews these hotels generally fit the bill but don't expect nothing amazing, whilst not completely generic across all of their hotels they do generally have a decent restaurant which this one does, clean and comfortable if not dated in places.
We stayed here to break the journey from Glasgow to South Wales. It was a good value stay. Room was clean and in good condition. Included in the price was access to the pool which our children loved. We ate in the restaurant, the food a little overpriced considering the quality was just ok. Kids ate free though which made it a bit better value for us. We paid extra for breakfast, again, kids ate free. There was a good choice. We stayed again on the return journey and would definitely stay again as it was very good value.
Excellent place to allow easy access to Chester and Race course. Easy enough to get too just off M6 but not effected by noise from motorway. Service from check in to check out fabulous. A special thanks to Caroline within the dinning area. She was like a little whirlwind and always had a smile. Couldn't ask for better service.
If the location suits, and it is close to a couple of major routes, the hotel is fine. It does the job adequately: comfortable bed, welcoming staff and a nice pool. I would stay again if I were in the area. Pluses: Staff Large swimming pool Decent breakfast Minuses: Despite partial refurbishment, it has the air of a rundown 1970's seaside hotel. My bathroom had been refurbished in the new Holiday Inn, shower only manner, but the bedroom looked 40 years old. Shower did not have enough height or water pressure Small bar, very crowded.
A roof over your head and a bed is all that's needed sometimes. This has both of those. The whole place though really needs a lick of paint. It looks very tired outside and in the corridors. However the rooms themselves have been updated and the bed is super comfy. Busy bar on Friday night and a rather comical team on duty - they have a unique system that takes a long time but are wonderfully friendly. Standard food menu - beware the overpriced garlic ciabatta and cheese. It's tiny! Buffet breakfast is £10 but has lots on offer. The place doesn't scream "come stay here" but it does its job. A regular to Chester and I'll probably try somewhere else next time unless it's a rock bottom price.
Whilst the hotel and rooms are of a good quality, to be expected of the Holiday Inn brand, their service is extremely poor at this location. I was told by reception that I could use their restaurant and facilities freely, yet not 10 minutes later when I tried to use these I was told that they had been booked out to a coach party and therefor unavailable to regular guests. This is simply poor form and poor communication between teams.
Stayed here for a night on the way to Wales. The outside of the building looks a little run down, however inside we were greeted by a new lobby, friendly reception staff and a great bar area. The room was pretty standard for a holiday inn, however were extremely impressed with the large shower. The restaurant was a little expensive however didn't mind paying extra as the portions were huge and the food was pretty great. At breakfast there was a large selection and the staff were so friendly and attentive. If we were in the area we would definitely stay again!
Once again I'm going to write a Holiday Inn review that's middle of the road, features phrases like "decent enough in a competitive price range" and that will pretty much cover everything. Stayed for one night when visiting with friends and it gave us a reasonably short taxi ride into town, a comfy bed, nice shower and a basic breakfast. I would use it again if needing to stay briefly in the Chester area.
