Wyndham Kingsgate

With several pools, tennis courts, and free video games and miniature golf, there is a lot to do on site. It's also very close to both Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg while being tucked away in a nice area. The staff in the pool/game area were outstanding - they had a lot of personality. But there were numerous calls from the main office attempting to hard sell us on a time share, most ending abruptly when we said no thank you.

Took our two grandsons to Williamsburg, Jamestown, BuschGardens and Water Country USA and stayed at the Wyndham Kingsgate. The two outdoor pools were a selling point, but the large pool was closed the three days we were there and hundreds of people jammed into a tiny pool to cool off, some in their street clothes. DIsgusting. Additionally, when we checked in, we were shuffled to staff who invited us to a buffet breakfast the following morning. We were naive and didn't realize this place is a time-share venue...thought they were just being nice...as our staffer said it was because we had payed a "pretty penny" for our stay. She then gave us coupons for meals in the area, never suggesting they were only to be used if we attended the breakfast. ( We were supposed to put our grandsons in child care so we could listen to their spiel!! )We had thought the coupons were a nice gesture, but management called us after we used them and said we owed them the money because we had not attend the breakfast. We absolutely were not told the coupons were only "payment" for attending the breakfast. Needless to say we will never grace the door of a Wyndham and I hope those who read this review will do likewise.

We stayed at the Wyndham Kingsgate for a last minute getaway to Williamsburg. I was unaware that it was a time share property and what that actually meant in terms of the stay. There was no housekeeping services provided while staying, they ask you take out your own garbage from the room. Our main issue was the noise from the room above. We were put in a 1st floor room, and the room above was also occupied. Every step they took as well as any movement from their bed made very loud noise through the ceiling, making it difficult to go to sleep and not be woken up by any movements above.

It was a good experience. Lot of in house things to do. Safe for kids to walk around and play. Friendly staff.

We took our kids on a long weekend. Two bedroom suite was great for the 6 of us. Lots of space. We spent most of our time at the local attractions, the kids want to come back and spend a day at the resort and use all the amenities offered.

Lack of continuous hot water in shower for the whole family- very unpleasant.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Wyndham! Everything that we needed for our entertainment purposes was close by: dine-in movies, restaraunts, outlets, etc. Entering the room, everything was clean, and our bed was cozy. The couch was small and hard, but we had every everything else that we needed in the living area. There was also a small washer and dryer for our convenience. Wifi was available, but it was VERY slow! Although this time around my fiancé and I went, I would definitely bring the entire family next time around. We truly enjoyed our stay!

The condo was excellent and just what we wanted because we wanted to be close to Colonial Williamsburg. My only complaint was that the showers lacked handrails which made them more dangerous than my home.

Hotel was clean and the grounds were keep neat there was no room service that's the only complaint

Check in was very slow due to Wyndham not having received my reservation.Luckly for us,Wyndham had a vacant room for us.Once finally checked in,the resort was great.Except we were not aware this resort is a time share. We were asked to sit in a presentation for 1 hr,we agreed, but we did not get released for 2 hrs.Very frustrating.

This is my second time coming to the kingsgate resort. My children enjoyed the resorts pool, mini golf, computer and game room. Everyone was friendly from the time we drove in to check-in. I have five children ages 2-16 and staying here felt like my second home. We used the kitchen a lot which saved on buying food.

Nice accommodations and amenities. The unit had practically no hot water though. We called the first morning and assumed it was fixed, but we always had to run the water for 5+ minutes to get any hot water, and that would only last a couple of minutes. The lack of a restaurant on site was very surprising. We were referred to the deli, which served pretty bad food, very slowly. Also, while it didn't cause any problems for us, noone was checking for wristbands at any of the facilities. I appreciate the "soft sell" on the timeshare aspect of the place.

The staff was very helpful. They have lots of on-site recreation and facilities and fun for families.

Family of 5 stayed here for 5 days. We loved the hotel. Great for families with children. Lots for them to do....pool, mini golf, game room, movie theater. Not to mention the daily activities scheduled. Our unit was updated, clean and equipped with pretty much everything we needed. The location was perfect. We were 3 minutes from Colonial WIlliamsburg and 10 minutes from Busch Gardens. I had no issue with staff as some reviews mention. They were friendly, courteous and called our room to make sure we were happy with everything. I had to call maintenance because the smoke detector in our room needed a new battery and they came immediately and replaced it. The dispatcher even called to see if someone came to take care of it. My only complaint was the mattress was a bit uncomfortable and the water in the shower would go from hot to cold without warning. Other than that, we were really happy and would definitely stay here again.

Had a nice time here. The resort was clean and had a variety of different activities. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The pool was a bit crowded and there was an odd smell in the bedroom, but otherwise no complaints.

Nice grounds with fitness room, pools, game room and on site putt putt there is an amenities fee daily to cover this. Staff was pleasant enough equipped with maps and info on local events and location minus the occasional miscommunication at the front desk on needing to call in with any preferences two weeks ahead of stay. Saving grace was the property manager stepping up and correcting that and taking care of our requests right away. Rooms were stocked but the flooring was clearly not cleaned, since we are use to taking off our shoes we had to keep up reminder to keep them on. Other than that stay was decent. Extra thanks to the property manager.

The grounds are lovely staff knowledgable rooms clean and great location

Nice resort but don't fall for "free breakfast to introduce you to the Wyndham Resorts". This ploy is for a timeshare pitch-and you may wait an hour for breakfast. We ended up leaving. My only other issue was carrying luggage up three flights of stairs. Otherwise the apartment style resort was much better than a standard hotel. The photos and descriptions are accurate. This resort is near everything. The location is perfect and maintenance is outstanding. Without the time share fiasco I would rate it a five!

Loved the small kitchen in our room with all the dishes, pots and pans, small appliances included. It made our visit easy.

The stay was ok How ever our secound bathroom shower did not work. I spoke to one of the staff and our request to have it fixed wasn't meet. We will not be returning. Its not fun sharing a shower for a family of 5.
