Our experience at the Rodeway Inn & Suites in Williamsburg, VA was one of the best hotel stays my wife and I have had in recent memory. If you are looking for then Ritz Carlton or Waldorf Astoria, then you need to go down the road and pay an arm and a leg for your tastes. But if you are looking for a hotel that is comfortable, clean, relaxing, and maximum quality for the price then Rodeway Inn & Suites is the perfect choice. From the initial check-in, our stay was nothing but overwhelmingly positive. The owner, Sunny, and his family were spot on with their customer service. They make customer service their top priority and do everything possible to keep their guests happy. When we checked in we were a little hungry and looking for a quick bite. Sunny took the extra time to break out a map and show us all the hot locations for dining and attractions, that really stuck with us. After we returned from Colonial Williamsburg on Friday and the Ripley's Museum on Saturday, our suite was thoroughly cleaned with fresh towels or other utilities. My wife and I greatly appreciated the service we received and made sure to thank Sunny when we checked out. When we venture to Williamsburg this coming Spring, it is almost inevitable that we still stay at Rodeway Inn & Suites again. Thank you for the wonderful experience, Sean & Julia Womersley
All hotels/motels have their good and bad points. This motel definitely had more good than bad. Its an older motel, but the staff obviously care very much about it. We (5 of us, 3 adults, 2 children) were given Room 202, a 2-bedroom suite. Upon opening the door, a mildewey smell was evident but wasn't bad. The bedrooms in the suites are downstairs, and the odor downstairs was very strong. There were no obvious signs of mold or mildew. We stuck it out for the night, but in the morning, I asked the owner/manager for a different room. He couldn't have been nicer, and moved us to another suite which was much better. First off, let me point out that the rooms are spotless. The bedding is pristine and there were plenty of towels for the five of us. The beds were very comfortable, at least for me. Maybe others would find they were too hard. The pool looked nice from a distance, however, once in, you'll notice cracked tiles and it needs a good scrub. There's some algae on the sides. All in all, it wasn't a bad place to stay. It was quiet, and as others have mentioned, there are train tracks, but they're across the street and not behind the motel. The only times I heard a train was in the morning. I also did not hear any traffic noise at all. The free breakfast offered was fine for me. They had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, two different kinds of dry cereal, bread for toast, bagels, muffins and mini-donuts. There was also fruit. My daughter, however, preferred something different so she went to the Wawa down the road. The motel is close to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, but its not in the "tourist" area, which was fine - less traffic, less people, less touristy. Restaurants are a short drive away. If I'm ever in the area again, I would most likely stay here again.
We found this hotel about 10 or so years ago and have been staying here ever since. We don't spend much time at our hotel, pretty much a place to sleep and shower. There is a nice looking pool which we have never used, unfortunately. We like it here because it is close to the highway and the local attractions yet far enough away to be quiet. The family that owns the property is always quick to fix anything that we might have a problem with, which is rare, usually if there is anything we just mention it when we check out and since we sometimes do get the same room, it has always been corrected. The property has been updated over the years and the beds are comfortable. It is not super fancy, but the price is usually good and we feel safe and get a good night's sleep. There are stores an gas stations right up the road. Hopefully our schedule will allow us to use that pool some visit!
We originally booked a king bed room but upon arrival Mr Patel saw that I was unable to walk very well. He graciously asked if we would like to switch to a room with 2 queen beds at the front of the hotel providing easier access and also had bathtub railing. We were very please with the manner in which he handled the situation and very happy with the room he showed us. The room was extremely clean and beds were very comfortable. All appliances were in good working condition. We liked the long vanity area which housed the sink and ran the width of room. Wifi connection was good, air condition was located in manner that did not blow directly on us and was so quiet that it could not be heard and performance was excellent. Hotel is in quiet and safe location and near major interstate. There are shops, grocery stores, restaurants and WaWa within a mile or so. We would definitely stay here if in the area again. Unbeatable comfort and hospitality for the price.
Our family was in search of an inexpensive and safe place to stay for the night and this motel was perfect. Our room was very clean and the entire property had a quaint feel about it. We really enjoyed our stay.
This is a typical motel style from the '50's or 60's. All units on the ground floor, with the building surrounding a central area with the parking and swimming pool in the center, and the office free-standing in front. The pool looked OK, but we did not have a chance to use it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, as were the beds. The bathroom was small, but the tub/shower was good with plenty of water pressure and hot water. Sinks and a vanity are outside the bathroom, so there is no crowding there. The continental breakfast was bare-bones but did the job for us. The location is convenient to major roads and is a short drive to old Williamsburg and Busch Gardens. WiFi worked well. Refrigerator, microwave and hair dryer in room were all used and worked well. TV and cable package was OK. All in all, it was very adequate for our overnight and the price was right. Would not hesitate to stay again.
This is a family owned business. The owners are very nice, friendly and pleasing to talk to. They are willing to help and assist you in any way to make your stay a pleasant one. The owners always remember us each time we stay. The rooms are clean and big, the area quiet and the ground floor entrances are suitable for disabled accessibility needs. Parking is good. We are Choice Rewards members and have AARP and have stayed several times while getting our daughter situated at The College of W&M. For the next few years we will definitely be staying here when we return to Williamsburg.
I reserved a 2 level 2 bedroom suite which was unusual for what the hotel look like from the outside. The room was very nice except for the musty smell when you walk in. The room met our needs and the beds were wonderful. We did not use the pool. The breakfast choices were basic.
Very nice owner ! Helped us out as we had to vacate another hotel that was horrible ! Very clean room and comfortable ! Would stay again ! Pool was clean , modest breakfast , quiet location ! Loved the 2 bedroom suite , would be perfect for us with our grandkids.
We were looking for an economical, multi-family hotel venue and received so much more! Very clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, quiet environment, private pool, minutes to Busch Gardens, continental breakfast, friendly owner and family atmosphere. Who could ask for anything more? We will stay here again.
