Best Western Plus Historic Area Inn

Stains all over carpet, room smelled moldy, felt dirty, unfriendly front desk employees couldn't even smile and say hello at check-in.

My mom loves this hotel but she is 78, I think for the money we could do a lot better.

Ran out of tissues and toilet paper, had to go ask for both. ROACHES crawling on walls after dark. (Counted 6 in our room) Beds very uncomfortable.

The hotel is in a nice area and friendly staff. I would definitely stay there again.

While we have stayed in far worse places, this BW was disappointing. I'll start by saying the staff was great and the location is spot on. The pool is large and warm, and the three video/pinball games were a nice touch. For the price ($109), however, I think you could get a much better experience from one of the many other hotels in the same area. Note the Internet was not working while we stayed, and I was asked to actually call the Internet company to work it out. After 30 minutes, I was told there was an equipment problem on my floor. Unfortunately, we could not connect from any floor, and ended up tapping the Econolodge wifi from next door (had an important task to complete). Was told by staff that the hotel has problems with Macs and iPhones, but this seems like a problem most hotels have figured out. Also, the floors/carpets in the hotels could use a good steaming, something that cosmetically would make a huge impact. And, our room had stains on the comforters and no desk or chair or other furniture to lie items on. It was inconvenient and in such a large room looked odd. It wasn't promised, but you should be aware of this. Overall, if everything else is booked, you will not hate this hotel. Given other options, we would stay someplace else next time. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g58313-d110787-r397370670-BEST_WESTERN_PLUS_Historic_Area_Inn-Williamsburg_Virginia.html#

The Front desk lady could have welcomed us with a smile at first. all in all nice hotel.

Hotel was great. Location near Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown was perfect. Only recommend that when making a reservation, asks to stay away from front stairs. Exhaust from tour buses shoot up the stairs like a chimney when they are parked at the front entrance.

Hotel was easy to find. Registration was easy. However staff was not very friendly. I was yelled at for not standing next to my toast in the morning because it was on fire.... The dude was seeing the heat waves and claimed it was smoke. The room smelled bad like a dirty diaper, and their was ac that said it was controlled by the tenant however I set it to 60 to cool off the room and the room never got below 75 degrees. Glad I only spent one night there.

all good ..........................................................................................................

Good location and clean rooms. Staff was very helpful.

This hotel was Clean. The staff were friendly and helpful.. The pool wasn't so great, but with water country USA so close you don't need to swim here. Its close to everything. Overall I had a pleasant stay. I will stay here again.

Everything was just ok. The big problem was with the walls being paper thin . I could hear doors slamming and people walking down the hallway all night.

Booked this hotel but was not able to stay there due to overbooking, Staff was exceptionally helpful in sending us to a another hotel in their chain. Best Western however had the amenities we had wanted and was easy to find and clan and friendly.

It is a nice location with good staff. We did notice a lot of minor cleanliness and order issues. Damage to furnishings not repaired. The overall value was good due to a 3rd party booking discount. A minor investment in refurbishment would likely yield a much better guest experience here.

breakfast was very good. The stay was pleasant. Rooms very clean.

Everything we expected and wanted and more. We will definitely stay again.

The Good- Staff was great, breakfast bar was always filled even when busy on weekends. The Bed was ok, slept on better and worse when staying at a hotel. Pool area was nice. Great location if going to williamsburg/busch gardens alot to do around the area and close to both attractions. The Bad- Room had a weird smell and carpets were pretty dirty like they needed shampooed, No Fan in the bathroom?!?!, Jacuzzi only worked partially. Overall would stay again for the right price.

The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The only bad thing is no cell phone reception.

Very clean. Exceeded our expectations. Great location. It was everything we expected and more.

It was quiet, clean, and the breakfast was great. It was super close to dining and to colonial Williamsburg.
