The Waynesville Inn Golf Resort and Spa

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The rooms were spacious, but need updating. Very expensive for what you get. Nice view of the golf course.

Good overall. Service in tap room restaurant on Saturday night terrible. Worst ever. Service cork and cleaver restaurant on Sunday morning was good.

Short but nice, wonderful breakfast with all the trimmings, clean and comfortable. If a person is looking for updated and new this is not for you. It is dated but in its day I'll bet it was magnificent.

The Waynesville Inn is a good choice, even if you are not a golfer. We stayed in what was probably the oldest part of the facility, and it was clean and perfectly acceptable. We were in town to visit family, so weren't looking for a resort or vacation experience. Nevertheless, the view was lovely, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast was amazing. We were impressed by friendliness of the personnel and will very likely be back.

this hotel is all about the mtns., golf, and close access to nearby Waynesville/Maggie. Staff could not be friendlier - the decor is a little dated, but it is comfortable and clean. The restaurant is just okay - needs a better wine/beer list (IMHO), but its almost within walking distance of downtown waynesville restaurants - (again, almost).

new mattresses would be a big bonus and updated bed coverings would be nice. More staffing in the dinning room is needed and the quality of the food should be much higher for a country club.

Quiet and cozy, close to town, but you feel like you are out in the country. We are not golfers, but enjoyed the quaint setting. Last updates may have been back in the 80's, but clean and well maintained. Included breakfast was excellent.

Hotel needs totally renovated .breakfast excellent. Dinner not good. Very short of staff. Very overpriced for accommodations Sheets towels and blankets threadbare. Beds terrible. Carpet dirty. Staff very short handed. Would not stay here again Nice restaurants and shops in waynesville. Good food experience in town

We knew the Inn was old, so we expected some wear and tear. But the paint peeling off the walkway and patio roof in large swaths is a matter of maintenance. The metal stairs were rusting and peeling also. The golf courses and club house are the saving graces, but the Inn needs to reinvest in it's property.

We enjoyed golfing, spa treatments and a fabulous complimentary breakfast eac morning! Would definitely recommend to anyone!

While our stay was comfortable, the location was great, and the price was wonderful, we were disappointed in the outward appearance of the building we stayed in. The room was great but we were in the Fairway building which is one of the older buildings. The paint on the outside was peeling and the metal was rusty. The breakfast buffet was outstanding but we were disappointed in the meal we had on Saturday evening in their bar and grill. Pasta was watery and the food was okay. Besides that, I would recommend it because of its location and staff. The staff was great!

Location was great but sorry to say the rooms left much to be desired. Old and tired beds, drapes & carpet. Bathroom also needed updating. Breakfast choices were very good and tasty.

The room could have been from the Bates Motel. The building was an out-building reminiscent of a cheap motel. The TV was the old cathode ray type. We were on the second level - no elevator. The metal stairs were rusty. We were scheduled to stay for 5 nights but checked out the next morning. We stayed the night because it was late and we were very tired.

We stayed in rm 210 of the Fairway. Maybe it's just me but it's been many, many years since I've stayed in a hotel room that actually has a metal key. That right there told me something. The room was large with the typical set up : small table with two chairs, an outdated but functional dresser with a 27"old style tube TV, an old but very functional AC unit. The double beds were basic mattresses, very little give and a tad squeaky. The bathroom seems like it may have had a face lift in the last year or so but still no frills. All in all the room was clean and fine for a weekend trip. OH! the balcony overlooked the fairway and was lovely to sit out on with a coffee in the morning and evening. I very much enjoyed the ducks that would waddle across the lawn to the pond (the fountain was not functioning while we were there). I think what made the hotel worth while was the friendliness of the staff and the breakfast buffet. That cost is worked into the cost of the room apparently because we were given vouchers to place on our table for each day. They had fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, country grits, bacon, sausage, etc. There is also a lady that makes omelettes or any kind of egg you like and waffles upon request. We made sure to tip her each day. She was great and very busy. I will probably stay here again but hope to get a more updated room the next trip. The $135 I paid each night was not bad, considering the breakfast was included but I think the place REALLY needs to update the rooms.

Only stayed 1 night for a wedding, was clean and no complaints. It was a Monday night and there were very few people in the resort/hotel but they gave us the room farthest away with a terrible view. If their customer service/management was really on top of it, they should have gave us a complimentary upgrade or at least moved us into a room that was closer or had a nicer view (away from the main road).

The building, grounds and golf course are lovely. Courteous staff made arrival and departure pleasant. Still, this place needs some serious attention to detail. The ceiling in our room had water stains, every painted surface was chipped, the carpet was not at all clean, the towels and washcloths were very frayed and the blanket had holes in it. An outdated interior does not bother me, but when a charming property is clearly being ignored, that is a pity.

room was ok heat did not work well beds was worn out great stafff room was not what i ask for i ask for a king or queen single room bed and was not for disable person overall rating from 1to 10 i would give it a 7

We stayed just off the 9th hole. The course is great. The area is beautiful. Lovely downtown are? Staff was great!

Service was great and value for the price pleasant surprise.

Friendly staff in a beautiful mountain setting. Restaurants with good food and adequate service. Good value except for the beds, very hard, which meant no sleep.
