Spent two nights for an offsite meeting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Small hiccups here and there which they apologised profusely Eg room keys not working, mosquitoes in the room. Beach front was clean but not for swimming due to debris and strong waves. Well kept landscaping. Food was excellent at the restaurants. Overall a good experience.

I stayed ths hotel four months before. Hotel it's nice property, Service not bad Morning breakfast was good. Staff's are very friendly. I like this hotel and service. Room service it's not good I was ordered Tea but it will took more time.

Stayed here for 2 nights on a business trip. Got an upgrade to one of the beach cottages, you can walk out and fall into the sea. Unfortunately, being on a business trip I was not dressed or packed for the beach!

Spent 2 days here last summer and had a great time- the food is amazing and the staff is extra helpful towards all guests! Property is great both from inside and otherwise! Much recommended for Chennai city.

Vivanta by Taj (Chennai) The hotel is located in the heart of the centre & was once owned by a Newab. It´s a hotel full of old world charm. There are a couple of restaurants. We ate in the Peruga Italian restaurant of the hotel. The chef is a lovely guy & Italian, having worked all around the world for many years. The food was good there. Wherever we go we seem to make friends with the waiters. This hotel was no different. At breakfast the waiters brought us all sorts of Indian goodies to sample – they didn´t disappoint with their samples. They even delighted in making us the local traditional coffee we´d had in Pondicherry & become addicted to! Mr Christopher was a lovely guy & he showed us the kitchen of their Indian restaurant (the Raintree) as he found out we were interested in cooking. He showed us the ornate picture at this restaurants entrance & asked if we could spot the mistake – the child has two left feet. A lovely hotel we couldn´t fault.

A heritage hotel at good location. Pros: -Rate is comparatively better -An average mall is there at walkable distance. -Staffs are good -Buffet was fine -Pool, gym and SPA available Cons: -wifi plan and speed isn't good -Their CAB service are very expensive Overall it's good 😊

Spent a couple of nights here while visiting on business. The hotel is still classy and the views and ambience are second to none in Chennai. However, parts of it now need sprucing up to maintain its premier status. Worth noting that is a coastal resort - so you will get a mix of business and leisure travellers. It is also some distance to city centre. All in all, would stay here again.

Earliest memories of this Hotel was Celebrity Guests, VIPs and Politicians will visit this place often on Fridays. Truly a Taj group hotel holding heritage value and oldest hotels. Located in Egmore, near Spencer Plaza. Not so big hotel, but good service and hospitality

I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and 3 days in September 2015. The room was a small one and the last one on the first floor. Had to call the maintenance at least a couple of times for overflowing bathroom. There was loud noise from the A/C ducts room, which was next to mine. I got sick with the dust from the A/C ducts room and ended up going to the doctor and diagnosed with Strep throat. Checked in well and checked out with sickness was a disappointing experience with a 5-star hotel.

Stayed for a couple of days with family, the place is a heritage hotel and Taj has worked hard to maintain it that way, good service and food makes stay comfortable. A very nice pool area surrounded by trees and hotel makes the stay memorable. You can sip on a beer while dipping and that takes away all tension of travelling thru a busy city out of your system. Food is good especially if you are fond of South Indian cuisine, expect authentic Chennai flavor. Rooms tend to be a bit smaller but thats because the structure of building has remain same since time of Raj. Overall a nice cozy place in heart of the city.
