A very average hotel, suitable for short stays, was here for a short official stay. This hotel is in a very good location. Staff was very helpful and the services offered are good. Food was very average. The rooms are clean and spacious. But the room size is small and can be decorated much better. Washrooms are hygienic and clean.

Ahead of family shifting to chennai stayed there about a week. Best hotel in thiruvanmiyur, ECR. Good service. Excellent rooms. Restaurant is available. Hotel is near Thiruvanmiyur beach. Bus stand is nearby the hotel.

A good and budget hotel, value for money. In chennai two star hotels provides good services like wi-fi,dining hall, rooms, help desk fantastic. Good atmosphere to stay in the hotel.very nice staff and good maintenance of the hotel.

Great experience, value for money, and very much customer friendly staff, and felt so safety and comfortable stay with awesome dining experience with olive restaurant, you should try out italian pasta and sizzlers.

I have been over here on 5 or 6 times and I've seen how the services dropped over the months. The last visit was in May n rooms odour was filled with phenoil and the taps were leaking (anyways as always) and the color of the floor said cleaning is needed. Common areas had the smell of liquor & food. The staff will not help you get something even if you are ready to pay. But as said below I've never waited to get a room. It would still be ok if you don't want to spend more & if you are visiting temple nearby. Still you get better stay competitivly priced within 5 or 6 km. And you could be cursing yourself when you are a vegetarian and staying there as you cannot find a decent veg restaurant in about a km or 2 and especially when you are looking for a breakfast.

After my previous stay at the hotel, I had vowed never to return. But misfortune caught up with me, in the form of my travel agent, who blocked the hotel for my stay and made a token payment. I arrived at the hotel at 9am and after the customary 2hour wait in the lobby for "room cleaning", I was finally lead to the room. At the first glance, I felt nothing had changed. Even the drinking glass seemed to have a stench of alcohol left by the previous tenants of the room. Since my purpose for visit was for a visa interview at the consulate, I left immediately leaving behind my mobile phone (since it is not allowed inside the consulate). To my shock, I returned to find that my phone (which I had hidden under the pillow, knowing the hotel's reputation) had disappeard. I appealed to the hotel staff, who pinned the blame on me for leaving valuables in the room and claimed they provide no guarantee for safety of such items. While I threatened to post a complaint, I was warned by the staff that me being leaving behind a mobile in the room while venturing out is suspicious and as a non-tamil speaker, I would eventually get in trouble. I left the hotel in the night after hours of debate with the staff who by then had ignored me completely

Stayed at Tidel for a night during a short trip to chennai. The location is good as its near to Thiruvanmiyur bus stand and is also at the start of the ECR road and the good part ends at this itself, since the hotel on the whole is at its best average. I stayed on the ground floor and the room i was allotted was quite small but was clean. The TV set in the room was an old small CRT with only local tamil channels. The attitude of the staff towards non-tamilians was also a bit biased thats what I felt. Overall its bit pricey for what it offers and is just average with only the location to claim as its saving grace.

I traveled from Delhi to Chennai for an official trip & booked the hotel after seeing their number on the internet. The person who answered the phone confirmed the booking. I reached there saturday 9pm with my wife & son, to be told that I need to wait for 20mins though I had called from airport to confirm exact time I would reach. While I waited & it was about 15mins, a Tamil speaking couple in early 40s walked in & was given a warm welcome. They seemed like regulars & was inquiring about room availability. I saw the person who had earlier gone to supervise our room cleaning, come over & immediately hand over the keys to this couple. It was clear that our reserved room was just handed over to someone else who just walked in, right in front of us. When I went & protested, with a smirk the man at reception said they were regulars & had to be given preferences. I continued to wait since it was late for us to start searching for a new hotel. After another 10mins a big group consisting of atleast 9 people who again spoke tamil walks in to enquire about rooms. The guy at reception gives me a quick glance then asks them to wait. Again the previous routine happens, just that this time, they wanted 3rooms, but was given our key as 1 & asked to wait for the rest 2!! I was furious & went to have a word with the staff. Instead of being apologetic, they were defensive & said they had to ensure a big group like that doesn't leave & I have to wait, else could leave. Since we had by now waited for more than an hour & it was late, they assumed we were trapped. I called up a cab & looked up other hotels in my laptop then & finally escaped out of Tidel Residency

I had a function to attend and stayed in tidel residency for 1 night and 2 days . This is good for very short stay where you want to visit some one or attend function . Advantages. - on main road in ECR ROAD . - close to bus depot - you will get auto in front of hotel it self - rooms are ok , neat and clean Disadvantage - there is a restaurant below but it has restricted timings go beware if you some thing in between they will get it form outside only .. But they will up front tell you. - room bed spread may be little dirty in some rooms .. Advise Check the room before you take it .. Corner rooms may be very small . They say delux and executive but there is not much difference . Check room size and blankets before you check in .. Overall good service and ok stay ..

Whenever i visit chennai, i stay at this hotel. One main reason is the cleanliness of the rooms, washrooms and even the walkways. Another good thing is the proximity to Tiruvanmiyur bus depot. From central, i catch Route No 1, which drops me 100 mtr before the hotel location.
