Is the Ibis Chennai City Centre meant for business travellers, backpackers, students or families on holiday? It is hard to guess from the decor, restaurant or rooms. There seems to be an attempt to cater to all categories, leaving one a bit out of sync at the end of it. Functional rooms with bathrooms that seemed to be designed and inspired by airplane toilets, it is difficult to imagine a larger than average person being able to use it. Meals and service just pass muster.
The accomodation was good. Was a pleasant stay in Chennai. The location was a preference. However the space specially the bathroom is too small and some variety in breakfast can be added to improve the rating.
Good hospitality and housekeeping staff Roni is awesome guy. Helps a lot in my stay. Would strongly recommend the hotel for luxury stay. Food is also good and cleaning is also efficient. Comfortable stay

My experience was great food was good and stay was comfortable I would specially like to mention about Gagan in staff who helped a lot in Chennai as it was my first time in Chennai thanks Gagan and keep up the good work
I stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. Staff is pretty friendly but hotel policies aren't. Check in time is 2 pm (which personally I felt odd). Room service is not up to the mark. If you ask housekeeping or reception to send someone to clean the room, they'll ask you to keep the dustbin outside of your room door. Food items and room service options are limited. Connectivity and transportation is very good from this location.
From the start I got the feeling that everyone at this hotel was trying to make sure I never stay here again. From the checkin till the check out. Only 1 lady with short hair could understand the needs of a guest. Her name is Ms. Gupta, I think , she had come from Ibis Bengaluru. Housekeeping fellow take eternity to give you soap and collect clothes for washing. I had to go to the reception to hand over the same after waiting for 45 minutes in the room. Inspite of doing online checkin the key wasnt ready. Had to wait longer than usual for check in. Had got extended check out time due to my membership but still they called to inform me that I will be charged extra. When I told the lady that I did get an extension till 6pm then she checked the comp and informed " yes." She could have checked before calling.
Room is very compact and restroom give flight feeling.dinning menu is very tasty than morning breakfast buffet.housekeeping and other services are excellent.stephen helped it very well.perfect place for US visa,Spenser plaza, sathyam theater.
We checked in at 2:00 midnight. Front desk staff warm and welcoming. Thanks to Gargi at the reception. The rooms, service, breakfast ........ everything is nice. No complaints. The cafeteria staff where helpful. Sarthy, the cafeteria waiter and room service attendant was one of the best person. He was humble and prompt on his service. If IBIS is listening, please take care of such staff (Gargi, Sarthy and one at the entrace etc), they are hard to find nowadays. I would recommend IBIS to provide free drop facility to the Biometric centre as well. If not, they can atleast make some auto's available at standard rate, so that people staying at hotel are not fooled or get stuck in bargaining with autowala...
ibis Chennai City Centre, the international hotel brand of Accor, is located on Mount Road (Anna Salai). 30 min drive from the Chennai airport (provided there is no traffic). Location of the hotel is very comfortable to reach US Consulate (walking distance). Hotel is adjacent to ICICI Bank and next to Thousand Lights Metro station. Good place to stay for business trip or family trip. Shopping malls are nearby, especially Express Avenue (9 years old) accommodates plenty of branded outlets. Hotel reception is located at 5th floor and the restaurant as well. I am inspired by "ibism" the unique approach to attract guests. Room is very clean and staff service is very good. During check-out, the bell boy was engaged by some other guest but one of the reception desk girls herself assisted to transport my luggage from room to lobby. Thank you, ibis for your excellent staff service !!!
