Every time we stay we are greeted warmly. Susan and the breakfast staff go above and beyond in starting our day with a warm hello and a smile. Hotel is a bit dated but clean. Try not to stay on first floor as you can hear the upstairs guests walking around. Location is great, convenient.
The breakfast staff, Susan in particular, go way above and beyond to make your stay feel like you are at home. The hotel itself is a standard residence inn....goid location to visit uva...good shopping and location for Charlottesville.
Have stayed here numerous times over the years. Cannot beat the location on Millmont with tons of restaurants and shops and UVa within walking distance. The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are updated with the current Residence Inn decor. We stayed in a 2BR suite, and were very comfortable with a family of 4. I appreciate the great work with breakfast in the morning, and the meals or refreshments at dinner--they even had a food truck one night! The fitness room is rather small and can get easily crowded, but I think they may have a deal with a local gym. All in all, another great stay for our family. I look forward to our return trip.
Sharon and Charlotte are the best employee's I've seen in years. Thank you both for taking care of Lawrence scottie Bennett and his wife Kristen. You both went beyond and above for him. Rooms are great! Pool is nice, no hot tub, happy hour and breakfast phenomenal!!!
The Residence Inn on Millmont Street is very convenient to UVA, especially the business school, law school, and Army JAG school, which is why it can be difficult to find a room here. There's even a short-cut through a small wooded area to "The Park" sports fields, which is just down the hill from these three UVA schools. However, this Residence Inn hasn't been updated much at all in the last 20 years.
We recently stayed in a two-bedroom suite when visiting UVA with our grandson. The hotel is older but very well maintained and equipped, better, in fact, than some newer Marriott properties we've stayed at recently. Because it's older, the rooms are more spacious than those found at some newer properties. The breakfast staff were terrific. We'll stay here again next time we are in Charlottesville.
The friendliest staff ever!! They also have free food and booze Monday - Wednesday!! The breakfast staff are just wonderful!! They make sure your comfortable and treat you like family!! Love this place!!
We visited the Residence Inn on Millmont Street for a long weekend ICW UVA graduation. I like the location of this Residence Inn (easy access to UVA Grounds, Barracks Road amenities, off 29 from our approach in from DC). I also like that parking is available and that the Residence Inn approach offers the 1-bedroom suite as well as the kitchen. There even is a small market in lobby for basics. When visiting in the summer/fall season, we have enjoyed the outdoor pool (wish it had been open in May). What I like best , particularly on this stay , is the exceptional service. The General Manager Elsie and her team aim to please and assisted us in many ways. We feel there like we have a home away from home.
Stayed here because we were attending a concert at John Paul Jones Arena. Hotel employees were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and clean. Located just across from shopping center - convenient to the stores and restaurants. We walked to and from the arena from the hotel.
I stayed at this Residence Inn location for five nights, and overall the stay was good. The suites are spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was varied and good each day. All day coffee was available with a selection of coffee creams that I prefer. The fitness room was adequate but the cardio machines did not suit me. Fortunately, guests can visit the nearby Gold's Gym, which is aging but a good option for guests who want a good daily workout. One day the Internet went down. It took a good portion of the day for the staff to sort out the problem with the ISP but it was resolved satisfactorily. The location was very good, walking distance to the Barracks Road Shopping Center, close to Route 29, and about a mile away from the UVA grounds. It's price was very competitive for the area. Recommended.
