The shower didn't work. When I complained about it at the front desk the attendant simply smiled and said another guest just came and said the same thing. They need to get it fix. The sheets and blankets were really dirty. The beds were very uncomfortable. The mattress must be really old because you can feel the springs and you sink when you lay down. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

Excellent but bathrooms need to have an exhaust fan!

An acceptable flop for a night at Wahoowa. I understand it is slated for demolition. This place hasn't been the same since they closed the Panda Garden...

Staff was very friendly and customer service oriented. The rooms were very clean and I would recommend the hotel highly.

This was our 3rd time staying. First we were sent to a room that had broken furniture and was not cleaned. Called downstairs and was asked to come back to front desk. Given a new room, without any type of apology for sending us to the other room. Dragged all our luggage to the new room, along with our son in his wheelchair. I had registered 2 adults and 1 child. There were to enough towels for all of us. This room had a terrible air leak at the door and the side of the room by the door was noticeably colder. Went down for breakfast the next morning around 8:30 am to find only juice, fruit and danishes. Nothing hot and no cups for coffee. And no way to access the tables to eat with our son's wheelchair. Was told later that staff had overslept and that was the reason for the lack of warm breakfast. Still not happy about not being able to get to tables to eat with my son in his wheelchair.

This hotel is second to none for location when visiting your UVA student.

Very small rooms baths in general need to be replaced

This hotel was perfectly functional for what we needed. Yes, it's not the most updated place. The bathtub had a slowly dripping leak and the ice machine on our floor, to my knowledge, never made any ice while we were there. However, the room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location in relation to campus cannot be beaten. The staff was very friendly upon checking in and checking out. Better than a motel, but it's not a Hilton. But then, you're not booking a Hilton, are you?

For the cost, the Cavalier Inn is pretty much what you would expect. The room was clean, the breakfast was fine (standard continental), the staff was pleasant, and the location is great - particularly if you have business at UVA. The shower was terrible though (clogged, not enough flow through the showerhead) - that was my one complaint.

Excellent location and good price! Would come again.

But, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Truly hospitable staff, spotless and well appointed rooms. I have overlooked this landmark thinking it was going to be nondescript and slightly shabby. Not at all!

the hotel's location is great. It's right on the edge of the University of Virginia and within walking distance to many great restaurants and bars. Parking was complimentary and easy with a underground garage. It's not a very fancy hotel but given the location ~100$ is a very good price. Staff was very nice and the room was clean and reasonably comfortable. Except the noise is a little bit too loud when the UVA buses drives by.

the hotel location at the univ of Virginia was ideal since we were there to visit this school. The hotel was clean and was complete in having a business center, breakfast as well as that its' facilities were excellent and staff professional.

This is one of the closest hotels to the UVA campus. Parking was easy and free. The hotel staff were very pleasant and went out of their way to be of service. Standard self-serve breakfast available (waffles, cereals, fruits, yogurts, etc.) The facility itself needs to be upgraded --clean but worn. The faucets in the bathroom required two hands to turn which made it hard to adjust for the right temperature bath towels were very thin and worn. Priced about right for the experience.

Every time I make a trip to Charlottesville I ALWAYS stay at the Cavalier Inn. It is the best bang for your buck when it comes to location and overall quality. Wouldn't stay anywhere else!

The hotel is conveniently located on the UVA campus and is a great value. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired; there was not a single piece of fresh fruit.

Although the hotel is a little hard to find, it is a great place to stay for one night or multiple. The staff was helpful and energetic, the rooms were clean and cozy and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. The hot breakfast was pretty good as well.

We were on a college tour for UVA . The location was a perfect walk to the college grounds as well as restaurants in town. The inn is a bit dated but was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very helpful. The morning continental breakfast was a nice addition to our stay.

The hotel was clean and close to everything. We were able to bring our dog. The parking was easy and we were able to walk to all the local shops and food.

Pleasantly surprised by the overall condition of such an old motel. Very clean and well kept. Air conditioner was a little loud but no big deal. Great value!
