SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte Ballantyne Area

3.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

If you are looking for a clean, reasonably priced hotel in the Ballantyne area this is an acceptable choice, especially if you are only staying one night. We have stayed here three times now while in the area visiting family, and while it served the purpose we have been unimpressed one too many times to return. During our most recent stay (December 2016) we were greeted by a very friendly staff person at the front desk, things were looking up. We checked-in and went to the room, the room was clean and seemed in good order. However, the toilet would not flush. We alerted the front desk and it was repaired while we were out, although it struggled to flush the remainder of the stay. Nothing like a unstable toilet to keep you on your toes. The toilet issue wouldn't have been a big deal, but during a previous stay (August 2016) the HVAC on the hotel's first floor was out, including the fitness room. While I realize maintenance issues can occur anywhere, we haven't had a good luck at this hotel and next time we are in the area will try another hotel.

The only thing a 4 slices toaster was damaged fo almost a week . Only 2. Slices and so slow

I rented the room for 2 nights. The air conditioner did not work. It was't fixed until the 3rd complaint was made. The cleaning staff entered the room at 8:00 am on the second morning. I was under the asumation the staff wouldn't enter the room until checkout time 11:00AM

First night, the air conditioner wasn't working. They moved us in the morning. Staff was great, but I would have chosen another Marriott if I had known about the redecorating being done. Oh, and my husband said that breakfast was awful -- sorry

really good experience. Would definitely stay there again

Modern and comfortable rooms that maximize space. Good free breakfast.

The hotel was amazing. I didn't get to swim, but the pool looked clean and nice. The beds were comfortable and the room was very spacious.

We spent three nights at the hotel and overall enjoyed our stay. We booked the reservation specifically because they had an indoor pool and free breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately when we took my 3 year old down to the pool we found it was closed due to "construction". There was no message of this on the website or when we checked in so it was frustrating to say the least. We were able to use the pool at the Courtyard Marriott down the road which we appreciated but it was a bit of a hassle. Magically, when we got back from our pool outing we were told the pool would be opening the next morning at 9:00 am. The breakfast was good but it was the same each day. We were really looking forward to the waffles as shown in the pictures on the website, but they didn't provide any type of waffles, pancakes, or french toast. There wasn't any fresh fruit either other than a wrapped up apple. The food they did have tasted very good and there was enough to choose from so overall it was still nice to have a free breakfast on site. The bar was never open either while we were there even though they advertised a "get together" from 5:00 pm on each night. The most frustrating part of our visit is that at 8:30 am the first morning housekeeping was wanting to know when they could clean. The second morning they came at 8:45 am along with the third morning. We couldn't find a "do not disturb" note to put up to alert them we didn't want to be bothered. Because we like to sleep in this was a bit annoying. Overall it's a nice hotel and I would stay there again but these are just some of the things we encountered during our 3 night stay.

Room was clean, beds were a little too hard. Breakfast was great and staff was nice.

Hotel & room were very clean and modern. Very quiet; comfortable bed; large shower (no tub). Free breakfast was great - lots of options - including healthy choices like granola, oatmeal, fruit and yougurt plus eggs, sausage & bacon. Hotel also had a small bar that was open at 5:00 - nice to get a drink in the hotel.

Clean room, decorated nicely, good customer service,.

The hotel was very clean, staff was very nice and attentive. The rooms were spotless and very quiet. The breakfast was wonderful with many choices.

Visited family. If you book through [...], cannot get Marriott points. Room design is very weird. Will never stay here again.
