Staff at front desk could improve hotel is conveniently located.

The room had not been cleaned properly, needed to be vacuumed. Did not make or clean the room after the first nights stay! They did not vacuum the room or make the bed even after we brought it to their attention! The young lady that helped us the second day was very nice, but the lady assistant manager wasn't. She offered a $20 discount for that night after I had stepped on a beer bottle cap! Not recommended! I will not stay there again! Have had no problems before this, but this is not acceptable!

Check-in time was 3:00 PM but our room was not available until after 7:00PM. Apparently there was a large fraternity party the night prior to our check-in and the hotel staff was not prepared to clean-up after a bunch of college children trashed the place. Check-in staff constantly told us it would only be half an hour, an hour at most, until our room was ready.

@ $120+ per night, I expected a much better experience. It seems the location went through a recent remodel, and it is adequate at best. The mattress was sunken in on one side, the carpet shredding at the bathroom, and the "painted" tub finish was peeling away. The breakfast bar was seriously lacking. If you're into sweets, great. However, the balance consisted of some round, flat, cold item, that I assume were eggs, artery clogging sausage gravy, and cold biscuits.

We enjoyed our stay at LaQuinta Inn on the riverfront in Charleston. It is a quick trip across the bridge to Old Town Charleston. The location next to the marina is very pleasant. The room was exceptionally clean and pleasant. We chose this hotel primarily because we were traveling with a dog. It worked out great!

as i said . confirmation in writting for 2 smoking rooms. no smoking rooms. no place to sit outside and smoke except in the snakewatch area. called for our shuttle one day. no one answered for over an hour! no sympathy...no apology...no money back. awful...horrible. never again! dogs peeing in the elevators and dragging their rears on the floor,but god forbid we smoke!!!!

Would stay there again. Had a nice view of the marina.

Bathroom floor was not clean. Pillows were terribly uncomfortable. Couldn't sleep well because air/heating system was so noisy. Wireless wasn't working well.

Well, there isn't a view of mariner from first floor. And we had an uninvited visitor. Apparently little crabs are indigenous to the area. Didn't know that!

Difficulty with wifi reception. There was a Gap under the door. We covered it with a towel to keep the cold air out. We reported this to the desk clerk after our first night but It was not fixed. Extra blanket was provided for our 2nd night as we requested. Thank you. Witnessed a couple with children not being able to have milk for them at breakfast. Parents were told the food truck had not arrived yet. The hotel should have sent a staff member to a nearby store to pick up a gallon of milk. There was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain.

Everything was EXCELLENT except I called the front desk and was unable to reach someone for more than an hour and on the second day we were there they did not clean the room till after 3:00. We will go back and I will definitely recommend to everyone. Also, China Dragon is EXCELLENT!!! You can order online and they deliver quickly.

This hotel was like new even though the building has been there for quite a while. Everything was basically perfect. My only complaint was the pillows were hard as a rock which should be an easy fix. We will be back! Great location!!!

Older hotel, maintained fairly well. No newspaper available at desk or for sale. Breakfast was fair. Probably will stay elsewhere next time

wouldnt stay at La quinta again. Room was good, some of the staff were a bit rude, though we were happy with the front desk staff staff. Definitely wouldnt be staying at this particular hotel again.

Housekeeping left my room door open all day. Blow dryer didn't work. Building b is pretty much just a flea bag motel. Main building is nicer, but still not great.

The room was dirty and the staff were not friendly. There was a wash cloth on the bath tub that was from a previous guest. It was pink so it did not belong to the hotel. We requested a handicap accessible room and the only thing in the entire room was a bar in the bath tub. There wasn't enough room for my equipment so we requested another room. They didn't have any available until the day before we left. The front desk associates were too busy talking among themselves to acknowledge guests walking in and out. Overall not a pleasant experience.

it was our first time going to Charleston, we went on a whim, and found an awesome deal for a king room that was pet friendly! We packed the car and took our Maltese with us. The hotel staff was super friendly, always attentive and willing to help us out any way they could. We had to wait a little while longer than 3pm for our check in, the Labor Day weekend was crazy the staff's kind demeanor and actual attempts to get us in our room ASAP made it better. I will be staying here again when I come back!!

I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was very friendly, and I found the room to be clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who would be traveling to Charleston in the near future.

Well, the location was great and the room nice - no fridge which seems pretty standard these days. Pool was clean. Breakfast was not the best - juices were as thick as syrup and pretty much nothing but carbs available so we sought breakfast elsewhere. Overall, I'd stay again - it was a good value.

pet friendly hotel close to the city

We enjoyed our stay at LaQuinta Inn on the riverfront in Charleston. It is a quick trip across the bridge to Old Town Charleston. The location next to the marina is very pleasant.
