Holiday Inn Charleston - Mount Pleasant

The hotel is in a great location, situated close to everything but away from the high prices in Charleston. We had stayed in this hotel before and came back because of the great room we had last time. However; on this visit, we brought our two children along and had a double room instead of a single king. HUGE difference !! NONE of us got any sleep and were so cramped it was ridiculous. The beds were hard, not comfortable at all. Which is crazy to me, considering I even went out and found the same pillows from last time for my room at home, because the king bed was so comfy! Not even a small refrigerator in the room. I asked at check-in if we could upgrade to a double king, but were told none were available. The air conditioner was not cold, we all stayed up all night sweating. We even tried to put the fan on constant to at least have air moving- it would not stay on. Just a very aggravating trip, as with no sleep, everyone was grumpy the entire weekend and could not wait to get home. I will not stay here again.

The price and location were perfect for our long weekend in Charleston. It's an easy drive to the Ravenel Bridge and then almost a straight shot to downtown Charleston. The town of Mount Pleasant was really convenient to a lot of the things we planned for our trip. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Overall we had a great experience!

Check-in was at 3pm and we arrived at 5pm. The room was not ready for us, they offered us a coupon for free drinks at the bar. We went to the bar while waiting on our room to be ready and they told us that the bar is under new ownership and do not have a liquor license. When we left in the morning one of the elevators was out of service. I usually enjoy Holiday Inn properties, but this one I would never stay at again.

hotel is located in a good place. nice room, no breakfast though which was disappointing, but the cost for breakfast if one wants it is decent. beds were really uncomfortable. linens and towels were grey color... overall - clean and good enough hotel.

Charged us $25 for a place to park the car. What? Mediocre, expensive breakfast. This area is loaded with hotels. I am sure there are better values in the area.

Booked hotel online, called that afternoon to let them know we would be arriving late and to please hold our room, they said they would and make a note on the system. Arrived late at night to check in only to find they gave our room away. They offered to put us up in a horrible trashy hotel down the road. They even acknowledged they gave our room away by accident. The I left numerous voice mails with the general manager, Mr. Rafferty who to this day, 11 days later still has yet to give me a call back. Travellers beware, you would probably be better served staying in a dog kennel rather than get the service or lack of service this group has provided.

The hotel was the perfect place to stay for the wedding I was in while down in Charleston. It was conceniently located between the city and the reception. The staff was friendly and attentive.

Average at Best. Staff was nice, but rooms were expensive and average but the location is good.

It was a nice stay and handy to Charleston's Cafe down the road.

I did not know this was a pet friendly hotel. There were dogs everywhere. Barking across the hall was unexpected. The elevator was a little scary. There was a lurch when it arrived at the floor.

Stayed for one night while passing through. The staff was very friendly, food was very good, free breakfast and kids eat free dinner too!

It is run down a lot, one night the pipe in the kitchen broke and it took couple hours to fix, had all water shut off in hotel. There were many other things that weren't right, the workout room was closed, the bathroom in the lounge area is very run down. I was disappointed in the manager before I even got there because I had put in several calls to change something and he never did return any calls.

Everything was nice except the bathroom fan was loud and ran with the light.

Incredibly, the bathroom light does not give enough light, and the noisy fan automatically goes on with the light. Also, no refrigerator is a cheap way to get guests to upgrade, only since I assumed the room would have one, it was too late as an upgrade was not available.

Wanted to cancel1 day of my 7 day trip and it was impossible to do so-- I was charged for a night I didn't use. The hallway on floor 4 reeked on cigarettes mixed with air freshener-- never a pleasing combination. There were crumbs on the far side floor in my room that were never vacuumed up during my stay. Couldn't open the windows!! I hate that!

The hotel is located in a perfect location to visit Mt. Pleasant and Charleston attractions.

the hotel added a cot to the room at our request and the front desk was very helpful.

We enjoyed this hotel as its location was central to our activities at Patriots Point. The pool was nice, and the hotel staff nice. The room was clean and updated.

The pool was very dirty with poor towels to use. The room was not very clean at all. We had to ask for clean sheets to be put on the bed. We tried to give our grandson a bath and the bath mat was coming up and the adhesive was floating in the water. We checked out early and went to a different hotel. I dint think we will stay at another Holiday Inn due to our terrible experience.

Hotel was in a great location. Rooms were average looking...somewhat small though. It was nearly impossible to use the ironing board due to space issues. Bathroom had a musty smell which made it feel unclean.
