Nice hotel with great location for all the sights of historic Charleston. Great courtyard for takeout dinners.

We stayed for three nights and were very pleased with the hotel and the very helpful staff. The room was very clean, the breakfast offered a good choice of food. The only negative experience we made were the mattresses that gave us a back pain.

The hotel rooms were old and outdated. We selected this hotel over a boutique hotel so we could avoid an old Rusty room, since other double tree hotels I have stayed at have been nice. But I would advise getting a boutique hotel unique to Charleston instead. This hotel room wasn't any difference than those in terms of rustiness and at least you get a taste of the Charleston culture in those.

Hotel great location for walking to shops and food services.

You can't beat the location, right in the middle of the action on Market Street. Walk to everything. However for the price, the room was a disappointment. It was small, with a very small bathroom. The room was not prepared very well. There was an empty roll of tp in the bathroom and some very tiny bugs which looked like they could be baby roaches. I killed at least three. Check-in and check-out was difficult because you have to compete for a few spots on the street in front of the hotel in order to load/unload your luggage. I ended up pulling into the pay parking lot across the street long enough to check-in and paid 6 bucks to get out. The hotel was listed with free parking, but after I made the reservations, I found out that the only parking available is valet for 30 a day plus 8 tax and any tips. We had three vehicles for 3 days and two nights, so it would have been over $300 just to park. Luckily I have local knowledge so we dropped off the wives and parked six blocks away in the city garage which is free on the weekends. We paid 15.00 each for breakfast buffet which was well below par. There are great places nearby for breakfast however as well as all other meals.

Hotel staff professional and courteous. Very clean well kept hotel. Would definitely stay there again. OH!!! My wife loved the cookies.

The location, amenities, hotel staff and room were great. Excellent value!

The hotel was in a great location but the bathrooms were so tiny you had to practically step into the tub to close and open the bathroom door. The gym is also very small and offered limited equipment and hours. We had a nice time but weren't thrilled.

This was the best Valentine weekend I have ever had. The staff was super and the location great. I will go back again!

This is the second time I've stayed at this Double Tree this year. The location is perfect within downtown Charleston! You can walk to just about anywhere, and it's right on the historic Market with dozens of restaurants and shops within just two blocks. The bed was very comfortable! The hotel has a great courtyard in the middle, perfect for having a glass of wine before going out to dinner. The price is much more reasonable for downtown Charleston historic district than many of the other hotels and B&B's. I highly recommend this hotel!

My wife went to Charleston to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had booked our stay at the Doubletree in the historic district and things could not have been better. The staff was great very friendly and helpful. We used their Valet for our car 25.00 a day well worth it cheaper than the lot across the street. The only downfall was that we found a pair of crusty dirty socks behind the drapes that housekeeping had missed, but the room was very clean. I would definitely stay here again.

If you want to be right in the heart of historic Charleston, you won't find a better hotel! Right next to the city market and countless restaurants, you could almost park your car and forget about it!

Stayed here one night with my three teenage kids. We had a suite with two double beds and a pull out couch. Checked in around 10pm. No offer for hooking us up to the wifi. Had to call the desk from the room after reading confusing directions. Room was very tight. The loft area with two doubles barely had enough room for the beds. The sink was outside the bathroom. The shower/toilet area was very small. I've stayed in budget NYC hotels with larger bathrooms. The shower stall was fiberglass with dirty gap filled grout. The beds were nice and the room seemed pretty clean. The location is next to the market and convenient to most things. HOWEVER. You have to pay $25 to park your car for the night. Something NOT mentioned in the listing. Also, no breakfast is included. $14 continental or $18 full buffet. Given the choice, no I wouldn't stay here again.

Great hotel right in the heart of all that chrleston has to offer. 10 mins to The Battery, shops & restaurants even closer! Wonderful staff and clean room. This is my second visit.

Forced to valet your car at 22 dollars a day. The valet is understaffed with at least a ten minutes wait each time you wanted your car. Bathroom is substandard- reminded me of a motel 6. The only thing that saves this place is the great location.

Doubletree is located right in the heart of Charleston so you have access to literally everything right out of your front door. The carriage tours are right at the door, the market is across the street and a plethora of restaurants and shops are also right around the corner. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful and overall the hotel was clean and comfortable.

I had another good experience with this hotel. Valet parking is priced competitively for the historic district. It is in a great location. No free continental breakfast and some rooms have you looking out your window at a brick wall, but being this close to the market was amazing.

Excellent. The entire Staff was the best I have experienced. Friendly, accommodating, went the extra step. Cannot beat the location. Everything was within walking distance. Only recommendation would have been to have had 2 Queen size beds in suite, rather than full-size. Other than that, no complaints!

Double tree is in the IDEAL location. A few friends went down to Charleston for the weekend. Our 1 room suites were all two stories, which though still a small footprint, enabled us to spread out a bit. The hotel is right in the center of all the stores and shopping. It was great.

Hotel was a good size for my family trip. We were traveling with an infant and i was slightly reluctanct to take my baby to a hotel. It definitely helped to have two separate rooms and they supplied a crib which was nice. Rooms were pretty average. It was great that there was a mini fridge. The room service menu was a little pricey, but i guess that is to be expected. THere is however a dunkin donuts and other small cafes right on the block so that wasn't such a big deal. There was also a Harris Teeter grocery store about three blocks away. The location was perfect, if you are looking for a downtown location you can't do much better. Ate at Hymans and it was factastic. And Wild Wings is one of my absolute favorite place to eat in Charleston-awesome wings great price. Having been a previous local in Charleston I really only visited one or two of my favorite bars, Tommy Condons is great.
