They have balcony doors that cannot be opened, or you have to pay $350. Mine was already broke. The desk staff wasn't knowledgeable about the hotel at all couldn't tell me anything about tv and i had to go downstairs to get towels none was in the room, then she neglected to give me full set just 2 bath towels n 1 wash cloth. Tub needed cleaning. Definitely not worth $95

We feel like we got catfished by this hotel. The pictures were nice online, and the sign in the parking lot said “recently renovated rooms”, so we were off to a good start. We enter the lobby and the person checking us in tried charging my credit card for the stay but I told her I already paid through Orbitz. She claimed we only reserved the room and still had to pay for it. I insisted that wasn’t the case and once I pulled up the receipt on my phone she apparently realized that was the case. She was friendly but seemed very untrained. We walk through the hallway to the elevator that did not inspire confidence. We enter the elevator, select our floor, and nothing happened. Doors wouldn’t close until we pushed the >|< button. The hallway leading to our “renovated” room was bizarre. We reach our door and the electronic lock to slide our room key into was visibly dirty, just caked with dust. We enter the room and immediately there’s an overwhelming musty odor like stale cigarettes. There were black dots on the walls that looked like mold or possibly dark splatter. There were dark scuff marks and chipping paint on the doors and walls and the bathroom wasn’t even painted. There were splotch marks on the wall as if they intended to paint it but never got around to it. It looked like there was mold growing on the wall by the tub too. We felt dirty just being in that hotel, so we booked another one down the street that was slightly more but worth the peace of mind.

Scary part of town! THis should not be rated as a 3 star!

Horrible place. Not worth the savings. Someone was in our room upon arrival. No towels. Toilet seat was broken.

Nice reception and breakfast attendant.

Good place to stay the night before our cruise since we had a 6 hour drive! Price was pretty good too compared to downtown hotels!

When we arrived to check in the woman was calling someone on speaker over and over again and she barely spoke to us. When we got to our room the floors were dirty and there was a very dirty chair in our room with a burn hole. It was gross! The room also had a terrible smell and you aren’t allowed to open the balcony door due to it being a fire hazard. I will never stay at the grand hotel again! Do yourself a favor and spend a little more money on a nicer place!

The entire hotel smelled like cigarettes, sketchy people walking around, including someone sleeping in the lobby at 2am. The trash can in the bathroom looked like they never bother to rinse it out or dispose of it as there was something disgusting in there. They offer complimentary amenities, although when I asked I got redirected to 2 different people to find out that they were out. The elevator was completely disgusting, there was food, cigarette butts, finger prints everywhere, questionable wet spots. The elevator creaked and felt very unsafe, we used the stairs to find more cigarette butts, hair chunks, writing on the wall, and trash. Terrible.

Hotel is right off the highway and you can easily access Charleston and Folly beach. However the hotel is older and has a bit of a mildew smell. The floors have been redone and the bathroom has been remodeled but the walls and ceilings could use a little work. The room felt very humid but in a pinch, this hotel is greatly priced and I felt safe

There were leaks in our room, multiple leaks in the main lobby, cleaning up the water from the leak resulted in a black towel, outlets (not just cover) coming detached from the wall, key stopped working, no change for washer and dryer, washer didn't clean clothes, full payment on dryer didn't dry clothes thoroughly. Staff was friendly.

I got there late and I wasn't sure I felt really safe. You know that something is off when you see that the police department has designated parking reserved for them! Inside, the facilities are a bit old and outdated. The doors to the rooms need painting. My room key stopped working by the next morning and I had to get another one. The shower head was not on tight and was spraying all over the ceiling tiles. If you stay here for the price and want something other than bad coffee and waffles, I would suggest to go to the nearest Chick Fil-A or IHOP. A fight broke out in the lobby in the morning while we were having breakfast and the cops were called. Hotel employees were scrambling to lock us all in the little cafeteria where "breakfast" was available. I was glad to be checking out soon.

Reserved for my father and infant. Requested a crib that was confirmed through Orbitz. When we got to the hotel, they did not have cribs available because they only had 2 in use by long-term renters. I explained that I had to leave to be at the hospital with my other daughter in 15 mns but that my daughter needed a crib. They did not offer any solutions, did not offer my money back, did not offer to assist me in finding another hotel. The woman at the desk was polite enough but did not attempt to SOLVE the problem and we were on a very limited timeline. We decided to take a rollaway and try to work with it. On the way up, I tried to stay positive...I know its an old hotel but tried to see that as a good thing. It was not. There were moldings missing on the corners of the elevators. There was a dingy look/smell to everything. Anything white appeared yellow-tinged. When we entered the room, there was a light switch that did not work, no towels and a half eaten sandwich in the fridge. The rollaway was brought in and I had to move the furniture myself to try to create a crib-like area. The sheets on the rollaway and the bed were so dingy. They should have been white but were, in fact, tan. The smoke detector had been removed from the room and the large balcony windows were unlocked. I didn't enter the bathroom so I can't even say what that was like. Luckily, it was only for one night.

Right next to a train maintenance yard... they test train whistles and engines till 2am, loud enough to make the windows on the 7th floor rattle, so forget about sleep. I do not know what the strange goo on the sink and toilet were and I probably don't want to. Hallways smelled like weed... no issue with me personally, but worth mentioning. Surrounding area was more than a little scary. Breakfast was disappointing. Not bad if you like waffles and cold cereal, but there is no protein to be found. Fitness center was very lacking. An elliptical, a treadmill and 1 barbell with 60 pounds of weights and no bench. OK for cardio, but you're going to miss a strength training day.

We arrived at this sketchy looking hotel to crash for the night. I got my room assigned, as soon I took the elevator with my family a guy came out of the elevator smelling like marijuana really bad. I ignore it is normal. We get to the room and the room was big, but beds was all dirty, hairs on the pillows and the linen was dirty with yellow spots. We dicided to sleep on top of the comforter all dressed up. At the middle of the night we all woke up with a terrible smell of marijuana "weed" all over the room, even you can see the smoke in the room. We decide to leave and when we open the door all the hall ways was the same way. Worst hotel ever...

The front desk person when we first got there was extremely rude. We had an all day check in and cut me off before I could even say anything. So my husband and I left and went downtown for a while, we were expecting a call which we never got. Not a good start to our honeymoon. The front desk person when we got back to the hotel later in the evening to check in was pleasant and made up for the rudeness of the lady earlier. The room was amazing and lean and comfortable. All in all I would have to say that our stay here was really nice.

That hotel smells horrible. Needs a total overhauling. The freight train loads up just next door at 4:00 am. So disturbing#! It's an industrial area.......

Not in the best of neighborhoods. There was hair still in trashcan and on the bed. The employees were very friendly but the hotel itself could use a bit of a touch up. But for a few days stay not too bad.

In Charleston for Cooper River Bridge Race. They had bags with water and bananas for the participants as well as a shuttle to convention center. Would have liked a late check out option though.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have had during your stay. Yes the balcony doors are sealed because of a near death mishap a few yrs ago with a small child and even though we made serious attempts to keep them sealed contractors come with their tools and remove the brackets which is why we implemented the charge. Seeing a child dangle from a 4th floor balcony is a vision we never want to see again. We will address the front desk issue of knowing more about the TV's an the hotel amenities. We have gotten housekeeping linen shortage resolved we are very sorry for the inconvenience
