It was really windy when I stayed this week and the external doors from the room whistled loudly. That aside a good standard of a room and the view across the lake was nice. Breakfast just missed something. All hot food had to be ordered which was nice that it was hot but the downside is it takes a little longer (business trip and just wanted to get in and out) and reduces the choices. I had dinner there (function for 25) and the service and food was good.
Stayed at West Lakes in July. Room was spacious and clean, king sized bed was so comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was superb! Our room had a view over the lake. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant which was excellent.
My sister and I once again spent a few days at the West Lakes Resort hotel where we enjoyed the lovely views from our room, free breakfast, obliging pleasant staff and took in the shopping at West Lakes Plaza. We highly recommend this Hotel,we find their service first class and are looking forward to our next visit.
I have not stayed at this Hotel before but booked it purely on price and the convenience of the location. My wife and I booked a spa room purely to spoil ourselves and we weren't disappointed. The room was very spacious, clean and had a view over the lake. It was very comfortable and quiet yet close to bars and restaurants within the resort. We dined at Crusoes Restaurant and found the menu was excellent and reasonably priced. I was particularly impressed with the staff who were friendly, well presented and helpful. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay and play or just to indulge yourself for what ever reason, I highly recommend the Lakes resort.
First off, the hotel is crazy expensive compared to hotels in the CBD, and I'm unsure why. You're next to a shopping mall and a man-made lake with views of all the McMansions surrounding the lake. I was in a 'Superior Suite', but honestly there was nothing superior about it. The bathroom is a reasonable size, but because of the huge spa tub, there is little leftover space. You get a tiny towel rack that hangs over the cheapy toilet. I've seen pictures of more modern rooms - we definitely didn't get one of those. All the fittings were tatty and old, two old chairs and a bedhead with screws on it that my hair caught it. Rubbish mini-bar selection. I asked housekeeping to refresh my room, and they didn't make beds or anything, just left a couple of coffee cups (no saucers or spoons). It was super stormy the weekend I was there, and the door runner against the balcony was full of water! Other than housekeeping, the staff were pretty friendly. Besides breakfast I only had one meal in the restaurant and it was pretty gross. Overall the style of the hotel is dated and a in need of refurb - all the carpet on the second floor is al faded and or/stained.
This hotel has an excellent location with waterfront views. The staff are friendly and professional. The food was very good and the price was inline with most restaurants. I could not find anything to really complain about. I think this venue has a good atmosphere and makes for a pleasant experience if you want a no frills meal with good surroundings.
Spent two nights here and if we ever head back to Adelaide we will be happy to stay again. Spacious room with views of the lake. Bathroom was also spacious, lighting in the bathroom could have been better, I found it a bit hard to apply my makeup, but that was only a minor detail. Handy location, across from shopping centre. We ate in both the restaurant and the bistro and were happy with both meals.
We went to west lakes with a guest from rural South Australia and decided to break our day with a meal at the lLakes Resort Hotel, not knowing if we would be able to get a table as we had not booked. The staff were really obliging and found a table with little rearranging while making us feel extremely welcome. We made our meal choice from their extensive menu which also has a reasonably priced seniors option to choose from, placed our order and seated the elderly ladies at the table before ordering drinks. They have a server where two chefs carve your meat or cook your choice of stir fry meals and prepare some of the best salads I have had the pleasure of eating. Matthew was one of the chefs on this day preparing the food and what a pleasure it was to eat thie meals he served. He was such a gentleman, treating everyone he helped with kindness and respect. If only all hotels had staff and food like the Lakes Resort Hotel it would be a joy to eat out. Keep up the excellent customer service and I will continue to return. I spoke with the service manager Lisa thanking her for their service and was assured there are some great changes coming to their already excellent menu with a seniors meal planned for the evening too. So if you are looking for a great venue for a special occasion, work event or just a good day out The Lakes Resort Hotel should be on the top of your list. Try it I am sure they will not dissappoint.
Highly recommended! We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights stay at the hotel. The service was great and the room spacious. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had a good selection. Try booking a room on the highest floor (5th floor) from where you could get the view of the Gulf over the Lakeshore. The shopping centre is just across the road, very handy. The nearby library provides free bike. It takes less than an hour to ride around the West Lake.
Well we have not been there for a few months but we decided to eat there tonight we got there the place was under renavations anyway we noticed the price rises there well a roast was only 14.95 a few months ago and now it was 20.90 cents that is a very large rise after all its only a roast i think that was two high and a few people i did not know were all saying the same as for another 10 dollars you could have a sea food buffet at the casino
