This used to be a cheap and acceptable hotel option, but last night the room we got was frightful. The air stank of toxic mold and strong tobacco smoke from the nearby smoking permitted rooms. The bedsheets apparently had not been cleaned, and fierce bedbugs added to our misery. We are not going back.

The beds were fantastic. It was a great nights sleep.

I used to stay at Super 8's a few years back. My experience was that the properties were not very consistent, some were stellar and others okay. I would rate this location as okay. If your on a budget, it's just fine.

I had booked this hotel as it was the only room available for Moms weekend at the U of I. Trust me after reading the reviews I was scared and thought about canceling my trip. I got to he hotel on Friday around 1:30 and was completely amazed. All of the complaints about the hotel being dirty is not at all what I saw. Yes the hotel was a bit musty and smelled it nothing like people were making it out to sound. The woman behind the desk was very friendly and allowed us to check in early. When we reached our room I was afraid to open the door. After reading about messy dirty smelly cockroach rooms the fear was there. Again. Not at all what I found. It was clean. Not Mr. Clean sparkling from floor to ceiling but not as bad as so e people on here made it sound. Yes it also had a weird smell so I went over to the store and got some room freshener and problem solved. Here is my best advice. It is NOT the 5 star glam hotel so if you are looking for that at the low cost then keep looking. A few suggestions. Bring air freshener and your own sheets and pillows and your stay will be great. I was in a room with a Jacuzzi, fridge and microwave so maybe I was just lucky. No roaches or bugs. I would stay again if I needed to.

Breakfast, NOT. Coffee warm or cold and NO Decaf, 2 packages of cereal, juice, not cold, tables not cleaned up, Microwave had something left BURNT in it. Room was Ok, nothing out of the ordinary, ONE soap for shower and vanity, NO coffee maker in room, but did have cups? A place to stay on a football weekend, and not much else.

Good place for a place to spend the night. Rooms clean and comfortable. Coffee tasted burnt, but we went out to eat breakfast.. Football weekend.

It was an acceptable room for the night. Basically clean, but other than wi-fi no extra features. Breakfast was included, but nothing was provided other than cereal and a few slices of bread to toast.

basic sleeping and shower. No frills. Basic breakfast

The room and lobby were updated so don't go by the pictures. Better than I expected but not worth the $189.00 a night for graduation weekend! Decent continental breakfast.

Just what we needed after a busy day. That is all I have to say.

Clean, quiet, exectly the things I wanted (bed, TV, hot water, coffee in the lobby, wireless Internet), and didn't pay for anything I didn't care about (10-story atrium lobby, restaurant, bar, etc.). Excellent value for money, and really important: I was able to stay one night, didn't have to take the whole weekend (as some others demand on busy campus weekends). Will stay again, recommend to friends.

This is advertised as a new hotel. It is not. Needs a lot of work. Our room was adequate for one night but I will never go back there. Even the peephole had been removed and replaced with a wad of tissue paper. The clerk did not have our reservation even though confirmed by Orbitz. When we gave him a copy of the confirmation, he said he did not know Orbitz. His english was awful and almost non-comprehensible. At check out he tried to make me pay ten doallrs more than I was quoted and told me that he was not responsible and if I did not like it I could call the state department that "said he had to charge me the upcharge". I asked him to call Orbitz and he told me "no". I asked him to look up the Orbitz customer service number on his computer and either he refused or he did not know how to "Google" (I could not comprehend). I refused the bill and he did not care as he was charging my credit card anyhow. This was an awful experience but it was the only hotel with availability because of the Illinois football weekend.

I was impressed with the comfort of the bed.The staff was friendly considering it was a late check in. The down side the room might need to be updated sometime, but overall we were happy. We will stay there again on a late game day. The price was normal

Available for last minute reservations, clean and convenient. One complaint, go EARLY for breakfast they are not very good at re-stocking and they pack things up earlier than posted.

The room was clean but needed some repairs. The window screens were ripped on two sides so we could not open them without bugs flying in. The wallpaper was buckled in the corners and would rip easily if touched. I was not happy with the breakfast provided. You had a choice of cereal or donuts. The coffee was very weak and the powder cream was so lumpy it would not desolve at all. There were only two hangers in a room that sleeps four. When asked for more, they said no.

Hotel was super clean and quiet despite being fully booked.

We went to U of I Homecoming, tailgating, dinner and partying. Great fun!!! Room and hotel lobby were inviting. I have been to other Super 8's but this being new was very nice and clean. Good mattresses always help.

I had come to Champaign to see my alma mater play a football game. I checked into my room, and immediately I noticed long dark hair on the pillows. I asked for another pillow and in the mean time looked around the room. I notced amber to brown colored bugs the size of an apple seed on the wooden night stands and crawling on the outside of the hide-a-bed couch cushions. I asked the front desk manager to come identify the bugs, and he said they were bed bugs. He also admitted the property had a previous infestation, but he told me that had "been a while ago." I immediately left the hotel, and they issued a refund. I had to find another hotel at 11pm, which on short notice cost quite a bit more. But the extra cost was far less than the expense of taking bed bugs home. When I arrived home the next day I had to spray down (using rubbing alcohol) my clothes and luggage to keep anything from affecting my home.

The motel did not have amenities. I stayed at the Ramada Inn and they have a large screen television, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, coffee, tea, and an iron and ironing board. Super 8 did not have any of these. The Ramada was immaculately clean had a fluffy bed with 4 pillows, the Super 8 did not have this. I ended up letting someone else who was on the trip have the room and I went to the Ramada accross the street.

The Super 8 Motel - Urbana, IL was slightly better than sleeping in the car. Right next to I-74, the noise at night was deafening. No amenities, no dining options.
