Garden Hotel Urbana

Construction materials everywhere. (Hotel is transitioning to a Radisson). Floor of our room did not appear to have been vacuumed. No ice except on first floor. No complimentary breakfast; desk clerk directed us to the Garden Restaurant, but did not offer vouchers.

The hot tub was drained and not useable. The internet didn't work the entire time we were there. The toilet was loose and wobbly. We had to evacuate the hotel after going to bed (fire alarm). We sat in the parking lot for an hour. When we finally got in the elevator was out of service.

The lobby was nice, but the rooms weren't the cleanest. There weren't any towels when we arrived and despite what the site says, there was no breakfast. Can't recommend and won't stay there again.

A/C in the room did not work. Tried to call the front desk between 4 and 5 am and NO ONE answered. Tried to get an adjustment in the room - NO LUCK. Nice Hotel but room was horrible.

We had a bad experience with our room; we were given the key to someone else's room, and found out once we started unpacking and making our selves comfortable. We left the room and notified staff immediately. They gave us a new room and it was good sized and clean, no issues for about 15mins. After 15mins once we were settling into our beds for the night, someone tried to enter our room, because the front desk again double booked??? A room. Those people promptly shut the door and went back to lobby, etc. thankfully. I then got a rude phone call to the room phone asking who I was, why I was in the room and for my details. The lady on the phone was rude and only stopped going off on me when I said my kids were sleeping in the bed and I was not going to talk any louder as it would wake them.

A decent stay, comfortable room. No real complaints other than that the hotel seemed a bit empty/understaffed.

The accommodations are adequate if sleep and a shower are your only expectations. The breakfast was horrible--even for free and the staff members weren't overly friendly either considering the premium price paid for a 2-star hotel. Pros: close to campus and al of activities.

Hotel is clean, good service and a short drive to downtown and the University. Good size and comfortable rooms.

The location for me was perfect, the room was clean, but I was very desapointed when I went to use the pool, I asked if it was heated and I was told that it was. I had my granddaughter with me and we were looking farward to use the pool but the water was very cold, we end up using the hot tub, but that too was not very warm. The continental breakfast was not one of the best I have seen and you do not want to pay for the so called buffet. Not good.

Good location. Off of Lincoln. They had a buffet breakfast which was appreciated on such a busy day. Sausages, eggs, bacon and potatoes on the hot side, oatmeal, muffins, sticky buns and fruit on the cold line. Wait staff was very friendly. We thought the beds were quite comfortable. While the hotel would not guarantee us adjoining rooms (we had children and a handicapped senior with us), when we arrived we did have connecting double queen bed rooms, which was great.

Hotel was modern, clean and had excellent service. Location was convenient to the University of Illinois, which was critical to our trip. The only drawback with location was that there were no restaurants within walking distance, but food on premises was excellent.

We woke to yelling in the hallway. We thought it was other guests fighting but to our dismay it was the cleaning staff yelling at each other. This continued until another guest opened her door and asked them to be quiet. They were for awhile but started again. We left the hotel.

Only thing missing is no breakfast. Which is a big deal for me. The only thing they offer is coffee. If no big deal, I would absolutely recommend the hotel.

The hotel seemed pretty nice and was fairly clean. We unfortunately were next to the pool and it was very loud at night until the pool closed. We did not get towels one of our days and had to call two times to get any.

I was in town on homecoming weekend (the 100th anniversary) for the Fighting Illini to interview for medical school. The hotel sent a free shuttle to fetch me from the airport and to take me to my interview. The front desk could not have been more accommodating. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. There was only one working computer so BYO!

Stayed in town after a football game. Really just slept at the hotel.

This was our third stay at the hotel. We enjoy all of the amenities that it offers and the feel of it. There was a wedding going on, but we did not hear a peep from our room. Our only complaint was that the great pool (which is why we stay there) was closed. They offered up the pool across the parking lot at the Holiday Inn Express, but it was not the same.

Great hotel, service and room. Great location to the express way. Only concern was the price.

The air conditioning was set way to low in the lobby and dining areas. We were way to cold.
