This older hotel had larger rooms than modern shoeboxes to begin with, but combining two large rooms into a roomy suite that is bigger than my first apartment is a winner. The weather outside was frightful (average in the 20’s), but the rooms were comfortably warm and cozy with a bed that beckons you to hit the snooze button. Breakfast was typical with a good variety, and I loved the 24/7 coffe, juice and cereal. Sure they were still renovating and things weren’t perfect, but that’s why it was such a good price and nothing interfered with our stay.
It felt dirty especially the carpet. An odor of must in the air. A lot of Mold on the shower ceiling. I suspect not Clarion standards. But then one only gets one chance to make a good first impression
Room was not clean, I am not the type to complain, but they needed to re clean our room. Bathroom was dirty, towels real thin, fingerprints everywhere and sweeper was not run and found dirty wrappers in corner of room, I won't complain, I just won't stay at same hotel again. Which is a shame because I come into town every month for a weejend to see my boys. However my boys did enjoy the pool and it was clean and we'll set up. Breakfast was lacking, just an ok continental breakfast. Sorry to give bad rating, but the room was just not clean and that's important.
