(Our stay Sept 2-7) Checkin with Billy was easy and quick. He was so knowledgable! He walked us to our residence king room and it was huge! There was even a spiral staircase that led to a loft with two twin/full beds. The master bedroom was big w/a nice sized full bathroom and the hall bath had a jetted tub/shower. . We've been all over the world and have never seen Viking brand kitchen appliances. The kitchen was equipted with every tool needed, and there was also a washer and dryer complete with detergent. We had a view of the courtyard, and we were just steps away from the gorgeous pool and beach. Complimentary full breakfast was served everyday by Sarah who was attentive and friendly. During our stay we interacted with Esther our housekeeper, Loxley, who laid out our towels and provided water and joe(?) who served us drinks by the pool. Check out by Adrian was a snap and he was so nice to give us a couple of luggage tags for our trip back home. He was very friendly and helpful. All the staff is topnotch and seem to care about each guest. This is truely a relaxing and beautiful resort. Note that the during the week we were in TCI, this is the start of the off season and some restaurants and businesses close for a couple of months. Billy and Adrian keep a list at the desk so be sure to check with them before venturing out. As an added note, someone recommended Sweet Tea near airport for awesome chicken. Sadly we didnt get to try it.

very nice property with helpful and informative staff from the front desk to the beach. Our 4 night stay was great for 2 families and the children. definite return visit in the plans.

We went with our baby and nanny, and could not have been more pleased. Location was perfect, property was beautiful and quiet, perfect for families and the 2-bedroom setup was awesome!! We'll definitely be back!!

Amazing place fantastic staff and best beach in the world

Spent there a week in August in one of the Garden Villas. The location is unbeatable, with very good access to Grace Bay and a 5min bicycle ride from restaurants and shops nearby. Rooms are spacious, the pool is great and the hotel offers great amenities (great pool, complimentary water sports, complimentary bicycles, etc.) The staff (except for some exceptions) is terrible but that might be commonplace across the island. Everything works extremely slow and nobody is particularly pleasant. Some things are just unbecoming of a 5 star hotel: running out of orange juice for breakfast, dirty floors in the rooms, 1 hour wait for a sandwich at the pool, etc. All in all, the place is worth it in spite of a terrible service just on the merits of its location and pool.

We visited the Somerset for spring break and it was absolutely beautiful. The resort is extremely clean and the staff is beyond excellent. Our cottage had more space than we even needed. It provided two large bedrooms with super comfortable beds. It had all of the comforts of a home. We had a fully-equipped kitchen, large living room and laundry. The beach is gorgeous. The resort had beach chairs, umbrellas and endless beach towels. We had immediate access to snorkel equipment, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, and Hobie catamaran sail boats. It kept our family entertained. The swimming pool was also awesome with a great pool restaurant / bar. Somerset is located on Grace Bay with so many restaurant options within walking distance and walking distance to the reefs for snorkeling. We loved our stay at Somerset and plan to return next year. It's perfect for families.

Room size was great, location was great. Grounds aren't that big. Probably will want to dine off property.

My wife and I celebrated our Honeymoon (Aug 2009) at Somerset at Grace Bay. We also celebrated our 1st Anniversary at Somerset at Grace Bay. Enough said!!

Concierge was very good at arranging water sports, i.e. water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking and for making dinner reservations. Hotel has only one restaurant and pool side cafe for lunch only. They did not have their own spa, but the one next door at the Regent Palms easily accessible. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel common areas were beautiful but the room was so small you could not even do stretching exercises on the floor. Could have been a former linen closet with a bathroom added.

The facility itself is very nice, so if you can't enjoy your stay here, you probably won't enjoy anywhere. Initially, we were put in a ground floor unit which really didn't have any ocean view whatsoever, but didn't complain. Then, however, the icemaker was not making ice and the refrigerator was not keeping anything cold. Maintenance assessed the problem and moved us to a different room on an upper floor exactly two floor straight up from where we were. Much better view, but several lightbulbs were burned out or missing and were never changed or replaced, even though I left notes each day. Free shuttle is provided by the casinos if you choose to go. Staff was very accomodating about getting taxis timely. Great location close enough to walk to several restaurants and also to shops at The Salt Mill shopping area (but we are big walkers)... it's a 20 minute walk to the shopping area. All in all, it's a very nice place. Kayaks and snorkeling grear were available, and it's a nice walk down the beach to a great snorkeling area. There was a representative at the airport from the hotel that got your taxi for you. The taxi charge is added to your hotel bill. Continental breakfast was included (?) but my daughter and I went one morning. Very short staffed in the restaurant. We waited 20 minutes for a table, although there were many empty tables; about 20 minutes for 1 glass of water, even though we both ordered water, and at least another 1/2 hour before a small basket w/ 2 scones, 2 slices of banana bread and 2 croissants and a very small plate of fruit were delivered. The baskets on other tables were twice the size, so maybe it wasn't clear we both wanted something??? There was plenty for both of us, but service was definitely lacking for breakfast. I can't imagine how long it might have taken if we had actually ordered something that required preparation. Fitness facility had 2 treadmills, one eliptical that worked but squealed and needed some repairs, 2 bikes, some free weights and a few weight machines. It was adequate, but far from superior.

Mr. Brennan it was indeed a pleasure to have you and your family here with us. Also, the poem that you all wrote prior to your arrival was much liked by our staff. We do hope to see you again very soon!
