NH Madrid Nacional

Location is absolutely golden. The hop on hop off bus stops right in front of the hotel, the major museums are 5min walk away, airport bus is super close, good food places around too. Friendly staff, very clean, modern hotel.

We stayed at the NH Madrid National for an extended weekend break. The hotel is located just a few minutes away from the Atocha rail station, the Reina Sofia Museum and the Prado. Given the proximity to major tourist sites, transport links (Metro and Cercanias) as well as tourist bus stations are also close by. We booked a standard room, which was located on the third floor of the hotel. Unfortunately, our room faced the yard which meant not much daylight but on the positive it was very quiet. The room itself was modern but lacking tea and coffee facilities as it is standard in most international hotels of this standard. The bathroom was of reasonable size with a nice rainfall shower – again very clean. Overall, we really enjoyed our trip to Madrid and the stay at the hotel.

We already came to Madrid several times and the last one was the first that we've stayed out of the city center- at Atocha, in NH Madrid Nacional. And it couldn't be better. Breakfast is very good, location super convenient and close to a metro station and the rooms are well structured and super clean. We had just selected our hotel in Madrid 👍

I really surprised why some customers left bad reviews for such a lovely hotel. We had a great time in this hotel. Reasonable size rooms, excellent breakfast, friendly staffs and great location. Easy access to both airport and city centre.

The hotel is in front of Atocha, Museo del Prado, Jardín Botanico and other great tourist attractions. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It´s also close to shops, restaurants and bars. Highly recommended.

Good location not far from Artocha train station. All areas of the hotel were clean. The room was as expected - 2 criticisms as it is a 4 star hotel - room lacked tea and coffee making facilities which you would expect in an international hotel, and also a mirror in the bedroom as well as the bathroom would be useful! (I travel with my daughter and both need a mirror to get ready!) On the plus side, the staff were lovely, especially Cesar on reception who was very enthusiastic and helpful in advising where to go and what to see on our first visit to Madrid.

It was really very good. Location is perfect. Close to Atocha and it makes convinient to explore sites like El Escurial. Was easy to get from airport by airbus, because the bus stops just across the Atocha square. Staff was very freindly. I did not feel well last two days and staff was very helpful.

Checked in late and left mid morning the next day. So did not spend much time there but the room was clean and comfortable. Very conveniently located for the train station i.e. within walking distance.

This place has no free morning refreshments available despite it being a so-called international four-star. I was on an early morning train from nearby Atocha station and at 7am in the morning I noticed that they were no coffee and tea making facilities in my room so I went down to reception and was told it was available on the first floor. However, when I got to the first floor it was closed and not open until 7:30am. Thankfully, there was a coffee shop nearby. Apart from not having some of a traveller’s essentials the hotel is well located for the train station – about a 90 second leisurely walk, and there are plenty of bars and places to eat nearby. The rooms are clean and a decent size with good aircon.

Hotel is clean, beds comfortable, staff fairly friendly but the hotel has no character. It advertises a restaurant but doesn't have one except for breakfast. Only bar food available and that is the only seating, when we were there it was generally full of business people attending seminars. Breakfast is good but very expensive. Hotel is expensive.
