Small basic motel, very close to the mountain, close to shops and restaurants. In coronavirus time, fridge and microwave in the room are essentials. Nice and convenient

Last weekend was the fourth time my friends and I stayed at the Happy Bear. What do they say are the three most important things about real estate? Location Location Location. Lucky for Happy Bear because it's location is literally the only reason we stay at the Happy Bear. It is right across the street from Pickle Barrel and Wobbly Barn (the two most important establishments on the mountain aside from maybe the ski trails). Happy Bear is priced appropriately. I would rather pay an extra $200 per night and have a few hundred more amenities like adult sized towels, a shower that hits above my belly button and a parking lot that doesn't double as a wet ice skating rink. The staff at Happy Bear are friendly and courteous but they are savvy. Don't try to get an extra guest past them, they'll catch ya. They meter the occupants by limiting your bathroom towels to two per room. Some day my friends and I will buy this joint, fix it up and make it look more like the Ritz and less like my moms basement. Heat works, sheets are clean. Fox News comes in fuzzy. There are no outlets to plug your phone in except for behind the 1999 college dorm room refrigerator set atop an old wooden chess that doesn't open. We will stay here again, and again only because I literally can not afford a DUI.

Very nice hotel clean and close to shopping and Resort

perfect location, clean room, no frills but warm and comfortable. excellent value for your money in an expensive town

The place is very clean. New mattress but the furniture is from the 50’s and falling apart

Room is small but fair based on price. Cost was reasonable. Perfect location (across from Jax and Pickle Barrel Heat stuck on high They charge you $20 for roll away cot. shower aimed at belly button.. I will stay here again. Hope they renovate it soon but if they do it will be $466 a night...

An affordable, extremely clean motel. A perfect place to crash after a long day of skiing. Owners are friendly and accommodating. Rated 3 stars for decor only (5 for an economy motel). Rug and bathroom tile seemed updated but everything else was not. Room has an old microwave, refrigerator and small freezer but does the trick. We stay here every trip to Killington to save money and spend it out. Continental breakfast is mainly for coffee/tea but there were small bagels, toast and cereal - if you want a big breakfast, plan to eat elsewhere. SunUp Bakery was a good place and the ski lodge had decent food. The motel is located about 1/2 way between Rte 4 and Killington Ski resort on Killington Road and within walking distance to several restaurants/bars: Jax, Pickle Barrel, Sushi Yoshi, Garlic, market grocery store. Highly recommend Garlic for dinner - best food in the area!

While I realize the hotel is well located and reasonably priced it'/ a stretch to charge 80.00 for those rooms. Our was tiny, damp, cold and looked to be out of a horror movie. Nothing was clean, the bed must have been 30 years old (and was probably the most recently updated item in the place.) The continental breakfast was weak at best. We're not high maintenance travelers and we appreciate an economically priced hotel but this place was the worst I've encountered. We left and were still charged for a night we didn't stay.
