My visit was short , and my priority was the location which was perfect! The building was quite old , and need renovation for sure. The main issue is the bathroom which extremely small and especially the shower! The breakfast was low quality but there was variety of choices on the buffet! Small area and not very friendly staff. General opinion is that it is overpriced! It could be better!
The hotel is an older building, but inside the places are well maintained. The restaurant is only for breakfast but in the area on walking distance you have plenty of choices to eat in the evening. Staff is friendly. Ok the rooms are not large, but comfortable. Bathroom is with shower. There is a fridge available where you put your drinks you bayed outside. Regarding the air co indeed some questions as other mentioned. As we were there end October early November it was not a problem! If you need well situated place in Thessaloniki to visit the city it is excellent. Just outside the street you are at the seaside boulevard. An advice to people who are there with a car it is not easy to park. They have some arrangements apparently but of course price is high what I understand (Note I did not have this problem as we did not rent a car this voyage)
The location of this hotel could not be better. Right in the centre of town with all attractions within an easy walk. Rooms are clean and simple. Breakfast is very basic, but lots of cafes nearby. Very affordable stay. Do recommend.
Clean, nice linen, spacious as I opted for a junior suite. Bathrooms very tight. Very central to main square and the port in Thessaloniki. Nice staff, a little noisy and smaller rooms feel cramped but overall nice and central.
This a a simple hotel, with clean small rooms, some having a balcony viewing the street, others viewing the rear of the adjacent houses. The bath room is small with a tiny shower. One shouldn't expect a luxurious boutique, exclusive, highly elegant hotel, but rather a simple, friendly, clean hotel, with really helpful staff located at a marvelous spot. Good value for money.
My experience here was okay. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out as terrific either. The best part about my stay was the staff. Everyone I encountered was VERY KIND and helpful - especially the women who cleaned the rooms. The room itself was pretty disappointing. The shower was like 2.5ft squared (if that?) and the hose didn't hang up past my chest (and I'm only 5'1".) There was a flimsy old shower curtain that touched you while you shower, too. I couldn't help but get water all over the bathroom. The towels were small and felt old. They didn't offer any water bottles or anything either. Only hotel I've ever been to in Greece that doesn't offer one or two free bottles. It has a lot of potential though. I liked the view of the street and the location.
I must preface this review by stating that this is the only hotel I've ever stayed in, on my only visit to Thessaloniki. Therefore I can't claim any sort of perspective with regard to accommodation in this city. However, judged on it's own merits and as a reflection of our experience here, I cannot recommend the Hotel Luxembourg and we wouldn't stay here again under any circumstances. The hotel has been recommended on the basis of its location, which I find is a poor argument, mainly because there are any number of hotels within a stone's throw. Also, why book an hotel in the first place, if it isn't where you want it to be? The reception facility is fine, the (English-speaking) receptionist pleasant and efficient, and check-in was painless. Our room was on the ground floor, right on the roadside. It was immediately apparent that someone had been smoking and the room had that horrible stale smell resulting from cigarettes and air conditioning, The air conditioning, though left on, failed to lower the temperature below tolerable - though it was particularly hot in Thessaloniki. The room was small, gloomy, with tired furniture and a very dated bathroom. Yes, I could have asked for a different room so I may be unfair but this was a room they expected to sell at full rate (£70) so it has to be judged. Breakfast was adequate, nothing more. As stated, I can't claim any subjectivity on accommodation in general in Thessaloniki, but I cannot rate this any higher than average. If this was a hotel in the UK it would have received one star.
Very friendly staff , very clean rooms , great location in the centre of the town . The only problem Is the breakfast , is very poor ! And breakfast room is too small. Single rooms are very small !!!!
We had a day layover in town and stayed here. The location is good, near the water, close to a couple of plazas and some good restaurants. We arrived early and the man at reception found us two rooms together that were ready for us right away. He suggested places to eat and since we are leaving early next morning, before breakfast is ready, he said we could get some coffee and cake first thing. We would recommend
I had the worst experience in my life. I made a booking in this hotel and i informed them that i will arrive at midnight. when i reached the hotel, the recepsionist couldn find my reservation. She found a piece of paper from her colleague who cancelled my booking for no reason and she said that she cant call her because its too late. They didnt give me a solution in my problem and i had to search for a hotel during midnight and i found the only available one which was 180 euro per night. it was tottaly unprofessional and i will NEVER visit this hotel in my life.
