The hotel is not bad, guess I just had expected more from a 4 star hotel compared to other hotels I have stayed in of same category. The room we got was on 7th floor which gave us a nice balcony that is great during summertime when it is warm enough to sit outside. The room itself was to me boring and I genuinely thought it had not yet been renovated like the rest of the hotel, but it had. The room lacked something as simple as a kettle to make a cup of coffee/tea, And the TV mainly has German channels, not that we had much time to watch TV, but would have been nice with some more English channels the one time we wanted to use it. The breakfast was okay, nothing special, and no real variation, only in the ready made potatoes that changed from day to day between two variations. And when the place is really full the buffet is too small to keep up with the demand. Last surprise came at check out, when I was asked to pay for the water we had been drinking from the "minibar", if there is a note in the room saying that the water was not complementary it was hidden quite well, and there was only the two bottles of water in the fridge, so I didn´t really suspect that it was a minibar. But apart from all this we had a nice stay and really enjoyed the town, but if we go again it will probably be to a different hotel.
i was there on a vacation trip last week for 3 nights.the room was clean and large the bed was perfect ,breakfast is very good ,in 10-15 minutes walk you can reach the center of the town nice shops and good resturants.the staff was extremely helpful we have a night flight on 00;30 so we asked to live the room late, they let us stay until 20;00 pm for 10 eur only . we will come again to this hotel
The common areas are filthy, the rooms are filthy, they still have smelly smoking rooms. The overall impression is way below average. They really need to clean and refurbish the entire building. The service is also way below expectations
The Capsis Hotel Thessaloniki is not exactly in the city center as it says, but certainly walking distance to most everything--more like 15-20 minutes or more walking distance. The neighorhood is not very good. It does not help that a new subway station is being built right in front of the hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but this is really just a large, anonymous hotel. Breakfast was very good with numerous options. The room was very clean, but hallways are very dark and need some updating. Don't worry about rooms with a view as there are no good views here. We did have some plumbing issues. The first one was addressed right away and had to do with the toilet and its inability to flush solid waste. The next morning when I took a shower, the bottom of the shower filled up with water and wouldn't drain very well. When I got out of the shower, I noticed that water had also come up from the drain on the floor. I only mentioned this on check out because it seemed to be a larger problem.
This hotel has friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms. It is an easy walk to the Ladidika neighborhood where all the shops and restaurants are. It is a 2 euro bus ride from the airport. No gouging -- even the water bottles are only 1 euro!
Capsis hotel is in a perfect spot in Thessaloniki near to everything in this city. It is a modern hotel with a nice big lobby. My room was very clean with a comfy bed. The breakfast is continental and everything i ate was very delicious.
The hotel was excellent. The room was very clean and the room service was very good. The staff at the reception were very nice and helpful. The food at the restaurant was also very nice. The hotel has also some very good privileges. It was the best choice!!!
This was the 4th time I stayed here. Every time I wanted to give it a second chance as I liked the location. For the second time (August, 2016, and a few days ago) they gave us rooms that had a smell worse than the "smoke chambers" in the Vienna Airport. We could not sleep at all the first night. And we specifically asked for non-smoking rooms. They did give us another room for the second and third night but still the airconditionings were spewing "smoking smell" air.The super nice people who work there cannot smell it as they are smokers for the most part. The rooms need renovations and the bathrooms should NOT have mold. The breakfast is good. The staff members are amazing!
This hotel is in need of a massive renovation. The rooms are small, and was impossible to cool down the room. I called the front desk about the air, and they suggested opening the window, which doesn't help on a warm day. Food for breakfast and dinner was average. Staff was mildly helpful at times, but more often impatient and rude.
Not the worst hotel we have stay but they can improve a lot.Staff can be more helpfull and they really need to spend some to change the interior of the rooms.Breakfast was ok.A lot of noise but not their fault as there works going on in front of the hotel. Not far from the center and you easily move by bus
