Check in staff extremely rude and the manager was extremely unprofessional and rude. My wife and I have been visiting for 6 years now and have always enjoyed the cleanliness and the amenities. This time around they closed off the outside jacuzzi and when we called the first person told me it’s closed due to weather. The day before it snowed but sky’s were clear no snow at all nor severe weather.. after I said this is unfortunate and definitely a inconvenience when the cost of what we pay is to enjoy all the amenities the property has to offer he said “idk what to tell you” I told him I would go down to speak with a manager he then rudely disconnected the call. My wife called and asked for the manager and she said “ oh we’ll make yourself comfortable there’s another jacuzzi indoor.” Mind you there were 20 adults in this jacuzzi. Everything seemed outdated and unclean. Very disappointing to see how this place has gone to down. Not visiting again.

Room was excellent. Nickel and diming - hate it. Early check in fee is a grab if room is available especially if you’re just an hour or two. I’m sure here’s a late check out fee even if no one coming either. Resort fee when swimming pool broken??? When I heard that I politely complained and nice lady waived both. Poker room staff lied about other casinos and poker room very lame compared to monarchs.
There are no HD channels in the rooms, very limited options for TV. Also, I had a last minute guest, so I called for a cot and front desk said no charge. Then they charged me a $50 surprise for the cot. It felt sneaky and cheap of them to do that. I’d already spent hundreds on the room over two nights and thousands in their casino. I think I’ll try Monarch or Bally’s next time.
The hotel is dated and it shows. One lamp in our room wasn't working. The refrigerator didn't chill properly, Several of the hotel's restaurants are only open on weekends so the eating options are limited, Really not such a good idea because if we have to go elsewhere to eat, our gambling dollars go with us.

We couldn’t watch tv it said that no channels were available. We had to manually turn off all the lights they weren’t connected to any switch in the room. We had to unplug the beside lamp because it didn’t turn off at all. They never informed us with a late checkin that we weren’t guaranteed a king room they put us in a two queen room which was just excessive and if we book a king we except a king no matter what time we check in at. The staff seemed to be alright slightly agitated though when another guest asked a question. Probably will stay again cause the bathroom was gorgeous and it was very clean but disappointed about not having tv available we don’t watch it a lot but would have watched a movie together.
Room was large and clean. Large bathroom 2 sinks, tub and separate shower. Toilet in separate room. Large TV, coffee maker and small fridge. Bed comfortable. Large soft pillows. Pool on top floor is beautiful with large hot tub. The pool is separated from the outside by a glass wall. Outside the pool you're on the roof with comfortable furniture and lit gas firepits. Go to google images and look at the pictures. Ameristar's casino is big, clean laid out very nice. Two bars. Both are very nice. The upstairs bar has a large full wall of TV's with sports playing. You can bet on the games but we did not. We visited the Monarch. Went to their casino and ate at their restaurant because they had a $7.99 prime rib special. It wasn't too good. Personally i like the Ameristar casino much better than the Monarch's. We were in at least ten casino's and we liked Ameristar's casino better than all the others. There restaurants look very good but we never ate there so I can't comment about them. There is a Starbucks in the Ameristar casino. Good sandwiches at reasonable prices. 2 days in a row for breakfast I had coffee and for $5.00 a Egg white spinach feta wrap. Every employee we talked to was very nice. The one and only complaint was we reserved a room with a King bed and it was not available. We had to take 2 queens. For us that was not a problem at all. We definitely are going back.
It's a great hotel, but they double charged me, by a lot, so I can't recommend them.
