Mercure Hotel Offenburg am Messeplatz

A slightly aging Mercure near some major roads and conference centres, about 15 minutes walk from the city centre. Rooms are large and reasonable, although our bed linen didnt seem very clean. We walked down to a bakery/cafe towards town for breakfast. We ate in the restaurant, which was a fairly pleasant environment and service but the food was not great. We has a nice drive out to the vineyard town of Durbach which is about 15 mins.

We stayed there for one night because the hotel is not too far from Europa park (around 30 min by car). First impression was not very good, we did not feel very welcomed by the reception. Also, the room was only made for one person despite having booked online for 2. Parking costs 10€ per day. It’s quite expensive, especially since the parking in front was full, the alternative is to park at the back of the building. Breakfast was good, great service. The localisation is also okay, not central but the hotel is close to the highway, shops and a few fast-food places.

It does not seem welcoming when they forget your welcome drink voucher. Do not feel like asking for it as it seems rude. Room clean. Staff in restaurant very good and helped with the internet even though the restaurant had a blind spot and could not connect. Internet worked in the bar.

I stay at this hotel just for one night. Room looks clean, but bathroom looks a bit old and the shower curtain need for sure to be replace. Loooong wait at checkin and checkout. Very disappointed with the hotel restaurant as after 8:30 pm they don't serve anymore a la carte but just a sleazy buffet, with very poor food quality. My personal impression is that the hotel needs to be a more oriented to the customer satisfaction. For sure this Mercure is not at Accor Hotels standards.

Our booking was last minute. We literally booked our one night stay at the hotel due to a fiasco that we had run into with another hotel. Luckily Mercure was open 24 hours and was decently priced. The premises were clean and welcoming and the staff was super friendly! The only issue I had was the weak wifi in the rooms and the shower (all the water falls out onto the ground). This is my second stay with a mercure hotel, and my 4th with an Accor Hotel, and they always nail it! Parking is 10 Euros per night i believe as it's not their parking lot. Overall, it was a good stay!

The hotel was clean and offered nice accommodations. I should have done my research better as the location was not ideal, there was absolutely nothing close by. But the restaurant offered a nice evening meal and we were just staying the night as we passed through so it was not a big deal. Overall satisfied with the experience.

the hotel has well decorated rooms and plenty of car parking space. There is even a free spa available with small swimming pool and good sauna. Staff is helpful especially at the restaurant. Excellent breakfast with choice for fresh made fried eggs and italian coffee, in short a satisfying stay

Nice rooms. Clean rooms. Only 2 disadvantages... to pay 10 € per day for the parking. Service in the restaurant is not the same good level then the rest of the hotel. Surely will come back, but not for restaurant and their service.

We were upgraded to a suit which was very nice, giving us a lounge and separate bedroom. the bathroom was nice and large and there was a second toilet. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were very clean. I felt there was room for the staff to be more helpful and friendly, they seemed aloof but NOT the lady at breakfast. Breakfast was reasonable, evening meals were a big disappointment as it was buffet when we were there because of a conference? yet we have been in establishments where they can still cater for everyone. There was no bar, even though it was advertised. Apparently the lady who runs it had fallen and broken her leg, so no bar. I wouldn't expect this to be the case with a hotel this size. Another disappointment is the long walk into town, it is quite a way. They do have a car park on site. Not sure I would stay here again, more to do with where it is situated and the staff.

This is a standard Mercure with above standard prices. They are located just at the Messe where at the time we were there was hosting a World Dance (no ballroom) Championship. The biggest disappointment was and still is the WiFi. Accor still has a contract with m3connect and it’s far from satisfactory. I received a code for ’fast internet’, but there are hardly enough routers in the building so there was almost no possibility to connect, let alone ’fast’. For a business hotel near a Messe they should make redressing this awfull situation very quickly.
