This was a lovely hotel. It is run by the students of Kirkwood College and they did an awesome job. We traveled from Virginia to attend a wedding there Saturday evening. Saturday morning we received a call from the hotel wanting to verify the reservation and they asked if there was anything we needed. We asked if we could have an early check in and they told us they would try to accommodate us and would message us, which they did within an hour confirming the early check in. It is nicely decorated with modern furnishings. We attended a wedding there Saturday evening. It was so nice to have the wedding and the reception all at the same place so we didn't have to drive anywhere. The area for the wedding was bright and airy and very comfortable for all the guests. The ballroom where we danced was where the reception was located. The reception hall was very comfortable and there was good spacing between the 20+ tables. The dance floor wasn't huge but seemed big enough to accommodate all the dancing guests. The food served for the wedding was very good. My brother-in-law who is vegetarian had a lovely vegetarian meal too. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated including the bathroom. Everything was very clean. In the morning we ate breakfast in the Class Act Restaurant and the service was great.

I have stayed here numerous times for business. Rarely any disappointment with any aspect of their service or facilities. I also enjoy breakfast at their restaurant. Everyone I know, is well aware of the quality of their “bacon”. Best there is!! Rooms are well equipped and roomy. I really appreciate the way they have setup the bathrooms, with a large walk in shower. They have added clocks on the bed stands which have USB plugs for charging. That was an earlier disappointment, but now it’s resolved. Thanks! There is also plenty of walking / running options from the hotel. Your south of Cedar Rapids but very near the airport, and easy access to main roads to get wherever your going. Staff is always friendly and helpful. This is a teaching hospitality hotel / restaurant, so you can run into new help that is learning. Don’t hesitate...enjoy!

Our room was perfect, and was very comfortable. Very clean, The housekeeping is spot on. The front desk is very professional, and cant seem to help you enough.. The In-house restaurant is excellent, a 5-star for sure... Special thanks to "Dan" at the front desk, for taking care of all our needs, during our 5-day stay... Again, Thank you to all the staff.....My wife and myself were very impressed with this hotel.... We will be seeing again in August for an extended stay...... Patrick & Doris Ciarcia

This was our first stay at Kirkwood. The facility is nice and the rooms are comfortable. We arrived around 9:30 and decided to eat in the hotel restaurant, which we were told was open until 11 pm. The waiter came out and brought us water. After a little while, he came back to take our order. My wife ordered the fillet and was told: "We are out of that". There was no apology or warning ahead of taking our order. She then changed her order to the ribeye, the same as me. After about 10 minutes the waiter came back out and simply said: "we are out of ribeye too". Again, no apology, in fact, it seemed he was mad we were even there. At this point, we decided to leave. I am a little confused how a nice restaurant can be out of both ribeye and the fillet. I can understand something prepared like prime rib, but the two main cuts of steak are out? As we were leaving I heard the waiter whisper to a co-worker, "they are just walking out" in a not so pleasant voice. Yes, since we had not received any food or drink, and you seem to be out of everything, we are leaving.

We recently stayed at this hotel which is on the south side of Cedar Rapids. It was very quiet and there was not much noise in the hotel which was much appreciated. The lobby and rooms are very nice and the bed was very comfortable. I only had 2 negatives about the hotel. 1. The pillows were a tad too soft for everyone and were flat in no time. 2. The bedding was warm and comfortable but it was unusually loud when someone moved which made for a long night. The employees we did come into contact with were very friendly. We ordered room service for breakfast. They arrived within the timeframe we chose and the portions were large. The food was fantastic. Despite the two negatives it is definitely a place we would stay at again while in Cedar Rapids.

Very clean and well appointed! Food was delicious. Will definitely book here again. Not a lot around the hotel, but the restaurant was excellent and the service is top notch! Front desk nice and professional. Housekeeping is excellent. Room was very clean! Very impressed with this hotel!!

We spent a night at the Kirkwood Center in April. The lobby and rooms are very lovely. The bed was super comfortable although the pillows were definitely too soft for our taste. We did not have much contact with the staff so cannot rave as much about the customer service as others. We did have a nice surprise brought to our room within an hour of arrival, fresh baked pastry. So that was nice. The hotel is south of Cedar Rapids, about a fifteen to twenty minute drive to downtown.

My first, but not my last, experience was delightful. Hotel Kirkwood is beautiful, engaging, and a must-stay while in Cedar Rapids. Anyone at the hotel could help me with questions and directions. I felt as if the hotel was happy to have me stay with them.

I stayed at the Hotel at Kirkwood Center this week. Everything is lovely, clean and creative. This is a training hotel and at first had a thought bubble of “Really” this is going to be interesting..” But it was fantastic. They care..It is clean..The beds are comfy. They have robes in the room (to use, not have)..the Food is creative, elegant and yummy.

Warm and helpful staff. Gorgeous rooms.Comfy beds. A bathroom you wish you had a home. I stayed overnight for a conference and what a wonderful surprise. I wasn't feeling well, and all were so very kind. The bar and restaurant were just lovely with local college chefs in training and they are amazing! The lunch for the conference was delicious.Fresh baked bread...wonderfully seasoned turkey...not your basic fare. NOTHING about this place is ordinary or the staff. I want this hotel to take care of the staff as well as they take care of the guests, because you would want to keep them all.I am sure they do because they are happy nice people. If I am in the area again, I will not stay anywhere else.
