Hotel is older but clean and affordable. Bed was old and uncomfortable.

The rooms were very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered was decent. The only thing I wish would have been better are the pillows. Bring your own...

Room 342 was very musty smelling. That needs to be improved.

Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Facilities are tired and in dire need of an upgrade. I have stayed here many times over the years but will not be returning until they remodel - horribly uncomfortable bed, moss growing in between tiles in the pool.

It's not a fancy hotel, but it's been a consistently good one. Staff is friendly and accomodating, I've never had noise issues, water pressure is good in the shower, beds are comfy, and the free cookies each night are great!!

Only negatives were that the parking lot is crammed tight and to small of a pool. Staff was helpful.

The construction guts that were standing outside the main entrance drinking beer and smoking was not cool. Also the hair dryer did not work and the cold water in bathroom sink would not shut completely off ( still running not just a drip ). The best thing was we were given a free upgrade to a jacuzzi suite. Hotel is in a great location for quick access to hospital.

Ok value for the money. We needed a clean room near U of Iowa. This filled the requirements. The hotel was average, clean, but showing wear. The morning breakfast was minimal, coffee, juice, or milk, pancakes, boiled eggs, bananas, and toast and doughnuts. For an one nite stay just for sleeping this served our purpose.

The hotel is simple and nice, serves a short stay in iowa on the weekends. 1st floor is noisy, you may want to consider a room at upper levels.

We just booked a night in this hotel in a pinch. It wouldn't exactly knock anyone's socks off, but the room was decent and clean, it was quiet, and the value was great. Perfect if you just want a decent bed with no frills.

Great location. Friendly staff. Very accomodating!

very nice hotel, staff very helpful, room is cleanm good breakfast and snacks at night. will stay here next time!

i WAS KEPT AWAKE UNTILL ABOUT 2:30 AMBY THE NOISE IN THE ROOM ABOVE ME SOUNDED LIKE PEOPLE CONSTANTLY JUMPING OFF THE BED ONTO THE FLOOR. THIIS LASTED FOR AT LEAST THREE HOURS. COMPLAINED TO THE DESK CLERK AND NOTHING WAS DONE. NEXT MORNING THEY ACTED LIKE THEY DIDN.\' CARE Don"t stay on bottom floor

We had a room with just one queen bed. It was rather small but it was comfortable, and we didn't need to spend much time in it. The bed was quite comfortable. As I read in other reviews one of the doors was unsecured. Breakfast was very good.

The room was comfortable. The bathroom had some peeling paint, but everything was clean. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I plan to stay again.

The hotel was clean and the staff were service oriented. I would stay here again.

I stayed at the Heartland while I was on my way to Chicago, and it was surprisingly awesome for the price. I expected a pretty average hotel, but this one was updated with the decorations, had a nice-looking pool, tons of vending machines, a cookie hour in the evening, a free coffee and cappuccino machine on all night (my favorite perk), and a great breakfast. It was clean and not too far off the highway - would totally recommend it for anyone looking for a place near Iowa City!

We were there for a college visit and it was very close to campus, a mall, and many eating establishments. Pool is small and no hot tub. Breakfast was very good and even had soup and cookies for dinner available. Thank you for a very pleasant stay.

Fell like home. The hotel well keep: clean, comfortable. Nice view to the lake. Nice restaurant close to the area.

The breakfast was excellent along with the service. We will not think twice about getting a hotel room here again.
