did not have a map of nearby restaurants - that would have been nice

This hotel has turned into a huge kids party hotel. Rent a room and bring 10 plus kids to run around the lobby, hallways and pool. The lobby was so packed I couldn't even here the staff member when I was checking in. The pool was so packed with party kids we couldn't even swim and two kids puked in the pool as well. We had to wait to get a table for breakfast and the poor staff couldn't keep the items stocked. We will never go back to this hotel.

Not far off the highway and worth extra maneuvering. Reasonably close to the university, airport and across the street from shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff was reasonably efficient, the room was clean and large -as were the pool and whirlytub.

Great hotel in great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We are moving across the country (from VA to WA) and randomly decided to stay here do to the find on the site! We were extremely happy with the overall experience and cleanliness.

The location was great for where I needed to be. The mall is just across the highway! There are plenty of restaurants nearby also. The room was immaculate and very roomy. The beds are firm just like I like. The staff was very courteous and helpful too! I would stay again!

Positives:nice hotel staff, overall clean rooms, overall attractive place, comfortable seating arrangements and beds, great place to take the Iowa Hawkeye train to the game, but you had to stay two nights, not one, to get the free tickets. We only stayed one night. I think we should have gotten free tickets, as we had to pay a hefty price for the room. (The prices were hiked up at most of the hotels in the area, as they take advantage of people who need to a place to stay for the Iowa game). Anyway, I digress. The pool area is great- a wonderful slide. They have two, not one waffle makers. They had a nice selection of cold foods, fruit, waffles, and good biscuits. Housekeeping was quick to respond to some problems. The parking was good. Not so positives: Although the hotel is pretty new (we stayed there in 2010, too), the furniture in the room needed some cleaning, meaning the upholstery. There was no meat offered for breakfast. As noted above, you had to stay two nights to get the free tickets to the game, but it's nice that they offer it at all. The bathtub failed to drain properly when the shower was on, which made it distasteful to be standing in inches of water while showering. Housekeeping had to be called to plunge the toilet, but they responded quickly. I guess any toilet can stop up. Anyway, I would recommend this place to others, and I would come back again.

Very good location to visit IU. Convenient to freeway, campus, shopping, eating. Good breakfast. Good value. Only downside was not within walking distance to anything but not a problem as long as you don't expect it.

Overall this is a nicely located facility, with a great walking / biking trail near by. The waterslide in the pool area is an extra plus. Our only concern was that the pool was very warm one night and the next two nights it was progressively colder..(we loved it a bit warm). We had a safe in the room and would of liked to use it, we did ask at the desk and the response was..."do you want to use it?". Asked again later in the day, and they mentioned that someone would have to unlock with a key for us to use, but that never happen.

There were so many nice things at this hotel. The hotel pool was large and had a 100 ft water slide and hot tub. Children could be seen from about any seating. The room had a king bed, queen sofa sleeper, frig, coffee pot, dryer and microwave all standard. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. The hotel staff was kind and assisted with whatever need you had. There were many places to eat out within a block at the mall or IHOP next door. There is also a walking trail behind the hotel. The hotel is easy to find and across from the children's museum, movie theatre and hockey public ice rink. I took my 3 grandchildren with me and felt very safe. There many family's enjoying there time at the hotel.

Great suite! Great free breakfast! Bed was very comfortable. Pool was also great except we booked our stay during prom so a lot of young kids in hot tub with very inappropriate behavior. Other then that really enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Had a great nite's stay at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Forgot to bring my trunks but the pool area looked nice and had a big indoor waterslide. Great location too!

The check in was very quick and friendly. Rooms were clean and very nice. The bed was very comfortable. Shower had great pressure which is always a plus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beds were very comfortable. We loved that each queen bed had 4 pillows. The breakfast had a nice variety of food and beverage choices. The location was great. It was a short drive to the University and had restaurants and shopping right by the hotel.

I stayed here for a business trip and was disappointed with not only the greeting I received when I checked in and out but the lack of receipt that they were able to provide for me. The front desk person looked at me like I was asking for something unusual. Then the receipt she provided me was $60 less than what I paid. Very frustrating!

Swimming pool open long hours (730am until 11pm), and the waterslide was open late mornings even though that is not posted. Staff was very helpful and assisted me in getting back to my room with an armload of food from the hot breakfast for my toddlers. Breakfast was also good with two kinds of waffle batter for the griddles, toppings for the waffles including whipped cream and a variety of sauces. Also good were the sausage and eggs. We stayed 3 nights, and there was sausage every day, and the other hot pot had scrambled eggs or egg sandwiches. Also available were cereal, pastries, yogurt, grapes, bananas, hot coffee all day, and a couple of kinds of milk. Only advice when checking in is to request a room on the south side, as a train track passes on the north. 2 nights a train went by with his horn going off, while the other night they went by but didn't blow their horns.

The Hawkeye Express loads up there and the hotel provides complimentary tickets for it

perfect location for attending an event at U of I Hospital

This hotel is fairly new, however, it seemed a bit rundown. The entrance is nothing special and the elevator and hallways were a little dirty. Our room was ok. The beds were ok and comfy. The ceiling did show signs of water damage and there were holes on the wall where something had been hanging at one time. The pool area was pretty nice and large.

We took our daughter back to college for the second year. We have stayed at various hotels in the Iowa City/Coralville area several times while she has been at UIOWA. This was by far the nicest hotel we have stayed at. Clean, bright, great continental breakfast, (more than just the same old waffle maker and donuts, bagels and toast) They had omelettes, sausage, and potatoes as well as fruit toppings for the waffles. Seating area was spacious and clean. Someone was always attending the breakfast bar to refill items running low. Pool was clean and refreshing. Room was very comfortable, more than enough pillows, towels etc. The discounted rate from [...] was a plus! We would definately stay at the Comfort Inn Suites in Coralville again.
