I was very pleased with our stay and will definitely stay again for our next drs appt in Iowa City. Very clean, friendly and comfortable environment.

Super nice staff. Vsry accommodating. Room very clean and always smelled fresh. A few more breakfast choices would be nice. Felt very comfortable. Near every store, restaurant, and mall. Very enjoyable stay. Travel often. Will definitely be back.

The breakfast was OK but eggs was dry out. But had a nice visit.Lady at the desk was friendly and helpful.

It was noisy very early in the morning, guess they have lots of 6am-leaving guests and not enough soundproofing. But the really disappointing thing was that the breakfast was terrible - the biscuits were so hard I had problems breaking them with my fork, the only fruit was intensely sad looking apples, there was no meat or hardboiled eggs or any of the other protein stuff that has become standard at most hotel continental breakfasts.

ROOM DIRTY WHIRLPOOL ONLY PARTIAL FUNCTION DIRTY WITH SAND FROM BROKEN FILTER WITH NO REPAIR IN SIGHT

The wifi connection was terrible (and would not really connect in our room. It would be nice to have enough towels in our room for all 4 people. The hot tub was closed and there were no towels in the pool area as indicated.

We stayed at the Americann on our recent trip back to Iowa City for the Iowa Hawkeye Alumni weekend. The hotel check in and check out process was easy and the rooms were comfortable and clean. It wasn't a five star hotel and $200 a night for the room we stayed in seemed a little pricey. Overall it was a good stay and good location.

When we arrived on a Sunday afternoon there was no one at the desk. After ringing the bell for service a few times a young man came to the desk. He was pleasant and took our information and got us our room keys quickly. The hotel seemed to be going thru a renovation of types. The pool (the #1 reason we picked this hotel) was out of order. They had caution tape wrapped around chairs to mark it off. The hot tub was open and we used that briefly, it was dirty on the bottom and I didn't want our four year old in it. She was having minor surgery and we picked a hotel with a pool because that is what she wanted. The room had mismatched paint (again going thru a renovation I believe). The air was not on, unit was turned off, so I turned it on and it cooled the room down fairly quickly. The vending machines worked fine (but were pretty empty, not very busy there I think). We left early the next morning, they had a breakfast out, but we were in a hurry and didn't eat. For a cheaper hotel it was fine and possible after it's renovated it may be a good value. The bed a comfortable and it was quiet so I was happy for that, just disappointed there was no mention of pool being out of service.

In town for student orientation. The hotel lobby was dark. The lobby furniture was pushed together so that it wasn't usable, and made the entry look very uninviting. Smokers in front of the door every time I entered or left. Nothing in the neighborhood except fast food restaurants. Room was dated, worn and bare bones.

Our stay was nice. We were able to bring out dog, which I think may have gotten us a room that was a little less than others might have been. It was a bit musty, but we had a wonderful stay and great breakfast.

Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was just right for people on the run.

TV remote did not work. Curtains can't be closed and security light in parking lot shining directly into room

This was the fourth stop on a coast to coast trip and the hotel was clean and convenient from the interstate highway.

Had never stayed at an Americinn. It was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is not the best but for the value, it was adequate.

Room was nice and spacious. Bed, soaps and breakfast were average, but we had a nice friendly clerk. A nice place to stay as you pass thru and need a place to sleep.

For the price not a bad a choice. Nice breakfast in the morning with good coffee..

Great front desk staff. Good breakfast. Nice seeing a pool table too. Beds were comfy but the 4th pillow is not desirable for use. That needs to be just a regular pillow. Also I think they are short on house keeping staff as they were there very late in the day.

A sisters shopping trip. Hotel needed TLC. Some extra cleaning around the hotel would make a HUGE change!! Hot tub was broken. Breakfast wasn't great. Two toasters and only one half of a side worked. Not clean and not to many choices...peanut butter, yogurt, fruit, etc they didn't have. First room asigned was saturated with cigarette smoke. Ask for a room change, we moved to second floor and it was a nicer room all together. Hotel stay was ok, just for a quick sleep...not a hotel to enjoy for long stay. Great staff, very helpful.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean. Only issue was someone smoking in the block of rooms around me despite the clear no smoking policy. Front desk person was responsiveness to the issue. Overall, good value.

comfortable and enjoyable Good get=a=way place look forward to return visit.
