I would have rated this gem in Mactan Island a 5 star.... So let me start with that, the positive, 3 property adjacent to each other...all together they have everything..restaurant, Rooms, pools, basketball court, bars, event area, boardwalk, beautiful beach, etc...they have it all. To top it off 99% of the staff was willing to help and very friendly. For having everything..they are missing a beach personnel. we were at the beach area and wanted to have shake and water...so i had to walk inside the restaurant and order. Then they directed me to the Front Desk to pay for it. I asked the lady if she can deliver the beverages under the boardwalk where we were relaxing but i made sure i left a TIP to compensate for the walk the staff has to endure. They delivered the beverages..thank you. Then I asked the lady if she knows where to get beach towels which she told me to proceed back to the Front Desk...so i nicely asked if she would be kind enough to fetch it for us since we are already wet from the beach...she agreed...needless to say, nothing was delivered. We just laughed it off and dried ourselves with our own shirt and walked back to sotogrande. Since we were a bit exhausted from the heat, we decided to order room service. I called and ordered pizza and one dessert. After a 40minutes, i called back room service and inquired about the order. The gentleman who took my order, gtd that it was already on its way up to the room.......but guess what? nothing was delivered. So i called again after 15-20 minutes and asked how long would it take for normal order if done at the resto itself. The gentleman proceeded to tell me, "okay sir, your food would be waiting down here"...?????!!!!!! what was that? Anyhow to make the long story short, they forgot my room number and waited. We decided to just eat elsewhere. Property is great...kept it clean..smells good. In a private village type area...feels very secure...just dont expect them to go above and beyond their titled responsibility...
i would give it 0 rating if I could. There are three hotel resorts all sharing this and one other restaurant. I came here for dinner and found the menu unappealing. So I thought I couldn't go wrong with a steak sandwich. My fault for assuming. The chips were hard as rock and stale. Bread was stale. Meat was bland and paper thin. Cheese was processed and cold. It's not often I spit food out of my mouth especially when I'm starving. Don't bother.
Rooms are old and the light green color is kind of weird. Spacious but u can see mold on the ceiling and you will have a waterfall by the AC unit. Hospitality is great but is quite common in the Philippines. Would I be back in Sotogrande? No. Lastly, Wi-Fi sucks big time.
Room is spacious but the pillow is too hard. Bathroom is too small, if you will take shower there is no other way to step the bathtub even you don't feel like using it. Though I enjoy the sunrise view. Breakfast is free but nothing special. Better try nearby resort. No available nearby convinience store. They provide free shuttle but its an old multicab passenger type.
I stayed here in December, We had a short overnight stay in Mactan with my friends. We were a bit hesitant to book based on location, but we were so happy we came to stay here. The staff were really helpful and friendly and very hospitable staff (housekeeping OJT) , While breakfast buffet is limited there is a decent selection of good coffee.
Hotel is average, rooms are clean but a little bit dated. Water pressure in shower was good but the water was an unusual yellow. Breakfast is buffet but does not have a huge range. Biggest disappointment is the location, as there is absolutely nothing within walking distance.
We stayed for 3 nights ,not a great deal to do here ,a little out of the way if you want to go into the shops , to far to walk so if you want something from seven eleven its a cab ride . Have been to better places
We stayed only 1 night in order to be close to the airport for our flight the next day. And the airport is close app. 20 min. The area is sad as well. A couple of neighbour hotels and some building ground. And be aware that despite the pictures Sotogrande does not have a pool! You will have to use the pool from the next door hotels. The hotel is so sad. It is so worn down and dirty – absolutely uninviting and disgusting. The room is the same. Everything is old, dirty and worn down. The bathroom door is falling apart. The walls are dirty. And it all smells a bit. We requested a late check out – meaning 2½ hours after normal check out. Price: 900 pesos! They are clearly not targeting repeat customers as this would not happen in a decent hotel. Breakfast is sad as well. The main part is Asian food and very little selection for Europeans. Eg a simple thing like yogurt was not present. To be honest I cannot recommend this place. If you need a place close to the airport like we did – it can work. But apart from that don’t go – you will be so disappointed.
We are from here, but the poor Koreans got shafted. The hotel is so far from any thing so they have to use transportation. In the rooms is a little placard that says if you ask for a taxi there is a 50-100P surcharge. The taxes, by law, must run from the meter. This is law. Then if you cancel you will be charged the same. Again the law is by the meter. I saw a Korean man pay a jeepney 500P. We travel from Naga to Tabanok, 12Km for 20P. I saw no license/permit for taxi services. They offer shuttle to the main road. The only thing at the main road is a McDonalds. The hotel is just in the middle of no where. The staff was very nice and friendly. The food we purchased was good. But the breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired. The food was cold and a Filipino type. Cooked the night before. Not a normal breakfast. Again, the staff was very nice and friendly, but did not make up for the rest. And it makes me very mad seeing the others from other countries get ripped off.
Rooms, swimming pools are good. Wifi signal too weak in the rooms, only 2 restaurants with average food quality available nearby. Shopping places are too far away, thus, prepare some extra money for a taxi.
