PROS: - Very friendly staff! Everybody would greet you and ask how you're doing. - We had a deluxe garden room and it was very clean. The bathroom was nice and huge. - Drinks in the minibar were complementary for the first night. - The main pool was being renovated but we were next to the kids' pool, which was shallow and had splash areas. - Free shuttle into Cebu city 3 times a day. - Good wifi. CONS: - Beach is much smaller than pictured and seems man-made. - The breakfast buffet is decent but we didn't eat other meals at that restaurant since it was overpriced. Room service food was pretty good though. - Very isolated location. The hotel is private and some cabs will charge an extra 50-100 pesos to drop you off or pick you up. Hotel charges 180 pesos to drop you off nearby, which is about 100 pesos more than normal cabfare. - Inconvenient shuttle times. It took about 1.5 hrs to get into Cebu City and they only offer rides 3x/day. We had to take a cab back. - We were quoted 580 pesos to get dropped off at the ferry but it was changed to 700 pesos when we wanted to confirm it. Went for a taxi instead which cost 400 pesos. OVERALL: This place is great for families. However, it's very secluded so not too convenient to go out and eat or buy supplies. I wished they offered free shuttles to the nearby Mactown Newtown instead since it had a lot of restaurants and locals. I also recommend a spa near there called Retreat Spa.

I was unable to use my reservation due to flight delays and the hotel was unwilling to issue even a partial refund. If this there level of customer service then I'm glad I did not stay there. I will be back in Cebu for 10 days and I will NOT even consider using this hotel.

Anyone can build a great resort... But the trick is to staff it right and run it well every day. A special "Thank You, to the staff" and to Gecyl and Steffen.

The room we had was great. We rented the villa and it exceeded my expectations . It was a beautifully designed room . With the private pool we had in the room. It was a hit to my kid who loves the water. The whole family enjoyed our stay. The staff are polite and we were taken care of. We also tried the spa of the hotel. We purchased the Romansa package . We enjoyed the massage . However the jacuzzi and sauna needs upgrading . It was out dated for me. Considering the price I paid I was expecting more on the facility . However overall I love the hotel and would definitely come back .

A very well kept hotel and gracious staff. The accomodations were excellent and the rooms spacious. The three onsite restaurants had a large variety of foods and all prepared very nicely. Nice beach and the two pools although crowded were very nice. We spent most of our time at the beach.I did use the gym and the attendent there James was very helpful with the weight equipment. An overall pleasent experience with no ill experiences. Very popular with the Korean traveler. My fiancee and I were very pleased with our stay.

Took my girlfriend on a wonderful and romantic 7 night stay in one of Crimson's Ocean Front Private Pool Villas. The room was clean and comfortable, offering good WiFi and luxurious amenities. The private pool was worth every penny and allowed us to watch the sunrise each morning while taking a relaxing dip. Both the food and customer service were outstanding. I think I will miss the villa breakfast buffet most. I'd recommend Crimson to any friends passing through or looking for a romantic getaway.

The Crimson resort is a safe full service resort. There are many activities and wonderful grounds to stroll. The only fault that I found was that some staff did not speak English well. The concierge would cut off the conversation with a "thank you sir" instead of asking "is there anything else that I could do for you?" or "could I be of further help?" So, the only fault is that some staff are quite curt and stiff and I believe it is due to their lack of facility in the English language. I don't expect someone to have perfect English everywhere I travel but at a facility which is supposedly a 5 star, I should feel well served, a certain warmth from the staff and all interactions staff should end with "is there anything else that I could do for you?" The breakfast buffet was great and the variety of food was spectacular. I enjoyed the beach and the abundance of fish I have not seen before. However, there was a large soaking tub but no product for the tub such as an effervescent bath bomb or bubble bath in the room. There should be products in the room to enjoy the bath tub.

we had a pool villa and enjoyed the comfort and space. one night we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door and somebody called us and mentioned we had the sign up and wanted to know if we wanted the beds turned down. We were surprised and annoyed that she disturbed us, told her so and hung up. 5 or so minutes later she calls back again to explain and apologize. Need to explain what we were doing when she called. One would think when one finds a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign that they would do exactly that. Great location, nice pools, nice beach but the food is I hate to say it "Sub Par". and that includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is very disappointing. The breakfast buffet is under staffed and they constantly run out of most things and take too long to restock. We went to the Shangri La just down the road for dinner. That just shouldn't be. Trust me we tried and hoped one day would be better than the last but it wasn't too be. Need more lounge chairs with umbrellas!!! I will also say this is the first time i have ever responded to a comment card so that in itself should catch attention that i am not exaggerating anything i just posted.

the most gracious and friendly of staffs. great facility and accomodations. pure relaxation and really good food. buffets are a bit pricy, but the a la cart food is very delicious and reasonably priced. so much food (a la cart) that it is easy to share with someone. the beach was a little rocky and restricted, due to water level/tides. and the actual "beach" closes at 5pm. why on earth you can not sit on a chair in the beach area, after 5pm, i have no idea. otherwise, great place.

5 star resort hotel! Very clean and well maintained accommodations. Friendly and very helpful staff! Good food and service in their restaurants.

I highly recommend this hotel. The entire staff was awesome. Room was clean and neat. They all spoke English fluently and very helpful. The location is perfect for me as tourist sights and eateries. I highly recommend this hotel for everyone who visit to Mactan. Overall my stay was wonderful and will definitely stay again.

The Crimson Beach Resort and Spa is located on a small, artificial beach on Mactan Island, Cebu. It is a 4 or 5 star resort with many amenities. My wife, my 23-year-old son, and I stayed in a private pool villa, which had a main bedroom and a foldout bed in the living room. It was very comfortable and quiet. The high points: The staff was polite, courteous, and helpful. We had clothes laundered, ate meals there, and toured out from the resort - the staff was always attentive and available. The location is quiet and restful. The grounds and facilities are kept clean and organized. Transportation was handled efficiently for us. We did not need a taxi between hotel transportation and a tour operator driving us. The not so high points: The food prices are very high and rival those in hotels in large US cities. I did not find the food variety or quality of preparation up to 4 or 5 star level. One of the two A/C units in our villa must have had some mold because the air it blew out smelled like urea. If you decide to stay at the Crimson Beach Resort, plan ahead and get a reduced rate with a package deal. Also try to stretch to a villa, you will be treated more attentively. I am a seasoned traveler. I have stayed in hotels in 70 cities in 18 different countries over the past 15 years.

went there with the gf this past april 2015. its a 30 minute cab ride from the airport where you get to see the impoverished conditions of the locals on the drive to the resort. once you get to the quite isolated resort, you'll be amazed at the grandeur of the resort. it has pretty much everything you need within the complex which is good since you should never be leaving the confines of the resort since the outer areas are dodgy, sketchy, etc. the only thing missing is a convenience store so hard to stock up on soft drinks and snacks. also, i found the restaurants to be so-so, especially the breakfast buffet which would use some more variety as it gets repetetive if you eat there over a course of a couple days. the real gem of this resort are the employees who are top notch. really great you and make you fee welcome. the beach area is a bit lacking but nobody really goes swimming in the ocean in cebu anyways. the pool and infinity pool are awesome as are the activities that the employees direct in the pool area. i don't have kids but this resort has a kid activity center which seemed ideal, just drop off your kids and have a drink by the beach with the missus. all in all, we had a great time, definitely thumbs up.

Loved the hotel and the staff was very accommodating. Great place for families. Pool was amazing and the kids club was a great break to get out of the heat and give the little ones something else to do. Travelled with toddlers and teenagers and everyone loved it. The babysitting service was also a nice feature and it allowed the adults to go to the spa without worrying. We used the very reasonable shuttle to the supermarket and other nearby attractions and that worked out very well for us. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Crimson is so perfect that I'm getting married there. This place lets you experience God's majesty and glory at its finest. If I could give more stars I would. Beach is a little small, but everything else was phenomenal. Crimson has a 7 star staff!

Facilities (pool, deck areas, beach area, etc) - Great Spa - Excellent Staff - Friendly and helpful Location - Pretty good Rates - Depends how you book (we were lucky - far less expensive on O r b i t z at the last minute than going direct!) Restaurants and food - bad and expensive. Plus you'll get caught badly for the plus tax, plus gratuity, plus blah blah that adds about 30% on to the already steep prices. They clearly know they have a relatively captive market due to the location.

Very nice and comfortable hotel. I enjoyed for the staying.

Facility was good and the staff are kind. Had a good trip.

Best hotel I have ever visited. We stayed for our wedding night, and my wife, could not stop taking pictures of the hotel. They even folded towels on the bed into an animal, the small things such razor blades even were nice. They have go-carts for transportation. I would feel guilty if I were to have a complaint.

I love the room both in & out. Staffs are great ! But the resort front beach was under construction during my stay. And also it is so small. Location is just 20min away from the intl airport.
