Grand Hotel Lamezia

May be that once a time it WAS a Grand Hotel. I check in late in the night and the towels and bath soaps were already used! The air conditioning is noisy and awful. The TV is a old analog with the remote control without battery. The bed light bulb does not work. And so on. Food is good enough, but this is South Italy, the food is good everywhere!

The hotel is located in front of the railway station and is close to the airport (€10 for a taxi). The rooms have free wifi at a good speed and are very large, clean and sufficiently comfortable, and the bathroom is also large. Rooms on the back of the hotel are very quiet. The restaurant is good, with fish and meat dishes and excellent soups at reasonable prices. A bar is available and breakfast is included in the room price.

Dated building, tired bathrooms.arrived 13th of May and stayed here because it was convenient and easy to find, but never again. We paid 75 euro for a room with breakfast (which was OK , had bacon eggs though!) the bathroom only had one hand soap and two small linnen towels, how were expected to dry after showered? No information in the room at all nor were we given the WiFi pass. We had to ask at reception for these, just seemed as if no one cared. Wish I done my ground work and used airb!

Here we go again - Just because it's big doesn't mean it's a four star. Two and a half at best. The place is called Grand but that's about it. Ok, so it's conveniently situated just across the street from the station. Reception is curt. The rooms are ugly, the bathroom is almost as big as the bedroom but to no special purpose and overheated - it was so hot when I arrived I turned the heating off, opened the window, which remained open all night (this is in January) and when I came back after breakfast I could still feel the heat. Breakfast is the typical 'let's get it over with' continental Calabrian offering with an orange squeezer that gets you two fingers of juice after battling with it for five minutes - a four star hotel and you have to make your own juice? At check out; "Did you have anything from the minibar?" "Was there a minibar? I didn't even see it.

This hotel is not bad, but if a hotel boasts itself with the name "Grand Hotel..." you expect more. The hotel automatically gives off and abandoned feel. The hotel is large but they do not have enough staff. The staff that they do have do their best. The hotel location Is excellent. It is directly in front of the train station. The rooms are large but very spartan. The hotel restaurant is fair but you can do a lot better dining off site. The breakfast is sweet rolls and rotten fruit and fermented fruit juice.

The hotel is a typical modern impersonal place. However room was large and cleans and a multiadaptor enabled charging several electronic devices and fairly unusual to find. The big was no sleep a there was dreadful noise outside from some equipment I could not identify and the blind could not come up to see it. Hence rating is poor I came back feeling shattered.

This is a nice hotel at a great price, and located directly across from the train platforms. You can take a taxi from there to the airport for €10. The room was clean and very large, with a huge bathroom, and the service was friendly. The morning view out towards the airport and sea was really beautiful. On my way back home, I stopped and ate at the restaurant and had a nice meal with fantastic Calabrese red wine (ask for the house wine). The staff let me wait in the hotel until my late-night train. This place came as a big surprise!

Being somewhat lost in Calabria we stumbled upon this gem. In the middle of a non descript village the newish building dominates the area. It may be off the beaten track but worth the segue. Large nicely appointed comfortable rooms which are spotlessly clean. It has all the amenities you might desire: bar, restaurant, room meeting and banquet rooms. The reception, wait and bar staff most polite, professional and helpful. It is near the sea and close to the ferry service to Sicily. As it was off season they offered a fixed menu for dinner. Salad, pasta and either fish or chicken with roasted peppers, well prepared and server. With a pitcher of local red wine, a good deal. Would highly recommend it in the area for pleasure of business (airport nearby). A nice breakfast the next morning. free Wi Fi and all.

My company booked this hotel for my last night prior to flying back to the UK. It's just over the road from the train station and the bus which stops outside the hotel gets you to the airport in 5 minutes for €1.30. The reception staff are very kind and helpful and scanned some documents for me. The food in the restaurant is good and reasonably priced, there is also free wifi but the speeds are very slow. I'd be happy to stay here again.

I did not stay in this hotel, but stopped to ask for directions to the hotel I had reserved, Bram. The desk clerk said he had no idea where Hotel Bram was, but there was no such hotel inLamezia Terme. He did not misunderstand me--I showed him the name of the hotel written on my itinerary. I finally found Hotel Bram, about one and a half blocks from Grand. Bram is far nicer, about the same price, and the hotel staff is warm and friendly. That is your place to stay!
