I spent 4 days in this peaceful hotel. The location is perfect for those who want some relaxing time. I was on a half board basis and all I can say is they had food in abundance. Both for breakfast and even for dinner. Also I want to point out that they are really reliable. Once I went out in a rush for the excursion I had planned as I was late and forgot a gold ring in the bathroom ... I was really concerned if I will find it when I go back in the evening. But there it was put aside on the shower bottles board .... I mentioned this to emphasize that they are very reliable even the maids.
This was my first trip to Sicily, the hotel was great, set amongst Sicily’s first Golf Course at just under 700m altitude with Mt Etna as a morning view from my ample room, the room was very clean and had all that I needed. The restaurant had a great choice at breakfast and the evening meals had a good variety, the staff all friendly and helpful. Well worth another visit and a great place to begin to explore th region.
The hotel was supposed to propose a spa, a swimming pool outside. But the spa was not really clean and was not smelling nice and the swimming pool was closed even if the weather was nice. The food was not good which is a shame for this type of hotel. The worse evening was the buffet on the Saturday... Once I asked for a mixed salad. I asked the waitress what would be inside, she described a really appealing salad but they came back with few pieces of Iceberg salad (which is not a good salad at all) and only 4 pieces of tomatoes... And finally I was cold. It was late October, the hotel is closed to the Etna, so it can be really chilly during nights. In the dinning room I had to come with jumper and jacket. There was clearly no heating....
We visited in oktober 2017 for a week. Nice golfcourse, nice room and decent breakfast. The problem is the dinner. Boring menu, crazy mix of ingredients and it does not taste anything. My tip: make a nice buffet of sallad and stuff your beautiful island has to offer. Beside that you could offer something with protein like fish or meat. If you cant cook, don t even try to make modern fusion food. Maybe have pizza as an alternative? Three more days...planning to go to nearest town for dinner.
In my opinion it's a shame to have the rooms so dirty. Our bed sheets where not clean and on top we stayed forn2 nights with a baby who had to have a nap and we didn't leave the room before 11am and so the cleaning ladies left and didn't clean our room. The spa is kind of old and also not hygienic no bathrobe in the room to go there and on top you have to buy a swimming hat... the food is mediocre but I have to say the wine and the staff are friendly. I only would recommend this hotel if you go for golfing and spend all day out and just come to sleep there. The golf course is very nice.
The service we experienced was terrible. (!) After make the payment for 9 holes + golfgear (163 euro's for 2). We found out within 5 minutes that my partner could not start because of health conditions. Even though this was mentioned within 5 minutes, the staff was not willing to return 1 person's payment. Under no condition... They did not show any empathy for the situation, they just needed the money. A simular situation occurred with 2 other golfers when I returned from the course, they were absolutely devastated by the lack of service from the staff. After trying one more time, with 3 different staff members, one staff member was able to return jus a small part of the green-fee that was not used. The rest; the gear rental etc. we had to pay, not used at all.... Service is key in every business. This golf course failed enormously on that part. For that reason and my overall experience on this course: DONT GO TO THIS COURSE, instead find the course in the south of Catania...
Nice facilities, great staff and fantastic scenery, remote enough to be away from the hubbub but near enough to not be too far out (assuming you have the use of a car). Food was fantastic in both the Hotel Restaurant and the Golf Club. Overall a very nice stay, would not hesitate to recommend this place. The bar manager, Giuseppe was particularly friendly and helpful during our stay, spoke great English and really made our stay all the more pleasant. One minor complaint / comment - Turn the spa pool temperature up please!
We Thanks to all the staff who made enjoyable our stay. At the restaurant we felt very welcomed, food at buffet was fresh and always replaced. Our room was clean and comfortable. Spa and Wellness path was nice and massage as well, at the end we loved stay at hydromassage for a few ours enjoying Prosecco and pastries they served!! We'll come back
What a great place to stay, on the side of a beautiful volcano Mt Etna, with a spacious room, great views and refreshing pool. The food is great, the breakfast is a buffet with cooked breakfast as well as a selection of other food, evening dinner is a 3 course meal which is delicious. The service was above and beyond, Renzo and Maurizio who run the restaurant are fantastic at their job and very friendly, also Giuseppe on the bar makes a brilliant Aperol Spritz. Really great team. We would highly recommend this hotel.
We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel. The general first impression : the hotel needs to be refreshed (repainted,...) The receptionists were not so helpfull. The hotel is very good for business meetings. We had 2 big, qiet and clean rooms. The restaurant is designed for big weddings or conventions. The food was good (breakfast and dinner) and the staff was well trained. The pool was nice. You need to put on a badcap. The poolboy was very helpful with young and old. There were a lot of families in the hotel.
