We stayed at Casa Alpina for a month.that was our first mistake. A two or three nite stay would be more suitable. The motel is old tired an worn out but the owner is a nice gentleman who along with his family look after the place. The rooms are pretty basic but clean. They have a hot tub at the motel and I think I made a mistake by going in it. The water in the tub looked murky or maybe dirty. I got sick for a couple of days towards the end of our stay. The owner offered to drive me to the hospitall which was nice of him. We stayed up on the second floor but the weekend skiers made a lot of noise till one or two o'clock in the morning, it made sleeping difficult. I would not use this motel again as I was diasapointed with the whole Rossland area.
I had an enjoyable stay. The owner was right there with the paperwork. The room was comfortable with a big screen flat TV. The bed was a top of the line 'pillow top' bed and I slept soundly. The expereince was nice.
Spent two nights at this facility. It was clean and tidy. Basic but good value for money. We had a downstairs room and were disturbed by guests moving around upstairs. Breakfast was basic but once again it was good value for money.
Casa Alpina worked quickly to correct an error in booking. The manager was kind and courteous in our dealings. Rooms were comfortable though a bit dated, breakfast was part of the pricing and included scrambled eggs, cereals, coffee, toast, tea. Our stay met expectations based upon value and price. We will stay here again with friends.
Booked this hotel on booking.com and the page stated that payment was to be made at the hotel when checking in. I then enter credit card info and proceed to book the room. I look for cancellation policy and it is nowhere to be found. I then place the reservation and then magically the cancellation policy of this motel comes up once I am already reserved. The cancellation policy is no cancellation within 7 days and I booked 5 days prior. Unfortunately for me they are going to now charge me one night rate of $85 to cancel the room. I put in a request for cheaper cancellation and get the response from owners they will cancel for $84.94 instead. A savings of $.06. I then called the motel to speak to the owners as I live down the street and they are rude and not willing to help with anything as I booked through booking.com. I would not recommend using that website or trying to be reasonable with the owners of this motel. I hope your plans don't change as they will be keeping your money. Good luck.
For location, it can't be beat if you want close to the slopes. For price, $75 in a resort area is a stinkin' good deal. The room was plain and basic. But clean. And the bed was super comfy. There was lots of water pressure, hot water. The manager was friendly and did everything to make you welcome. Outside it was -18 Celsius. Inside- toasty! For breakfast, he got up early (I had to be out of there by 7:15), and asked how many eggs did I want scrambled- 3? 4?...."As many as you want" I ate 3, with cheese. That was in addition to the cereal, toast, fruit yoghourt etc to be expected. Real juice, decent coffee. I'd come back, no problem. Just don't expect the Ritz.
I booked this hotel because it was high season in Rossland for skiing in Feb. I had a change in plans and tried to cancel more than a month in advance. - I emailed the hotel and they told me they could not cancel my reservation I had to cancel online (but no website) or call an 800 number. The 800 number was for internal hotel chain management. The lady on the line was nice but couldn't cancel my Res either. I ended up calling my credit card and having all billing from this site cancelled. I never stayed here so rest of rating were just a guess at average.
Wow, my husband and I are incredibly impressed with this Excellent Accommodation! The location is perfect as it is only 5minutes from the ski lifts at Red Mountain. We love skiing and snowboarding so it's always great to find an accommodation that is so warm and welcoming for such a great price. We were kindly greeted when we arrived, the owner welcomed everyone in for free breakfast included as he served up hot eggs, hot coffee, cereal, oatmeal, and toast. The room looks great, very tidy, super comfortable beds. We were excited to have a mini fridge perfect for holidays. We have skied all over Western Canada and to be honest this is one of the best value for your dollar places to stay. P.S. - My Husband is outside right now cooking up a steak dinner on the BBQ (as there is a BBQ for Guests to use)! - Also there is a outdoor hot tub for all Guests to use too! This is where we will stay when we come back this way! Telling all our friends and you too.
This is a good, basic motel which includes breakfast (cereal, toast, etc.) It is located on the edge of town, so if you need groceries you will have to drive further into the town. We found an excellent grocery store called Ferraro on the main street. The town is very attractive with flowers and sculptures. We would definitely stay here again.
