Amazing hotel just off Zerktouni blvd, which is one of the main streets in Casablanca Morocco. I’ve been coming to Morocco for 25 years and this is the first hotel that has a good feel to it. Normally, I’ll stay in the executive rooms in hotels but I had to book for same day check in. Another hotel stiffed me, Syk Services never book with them. Basically, they stole from me. Anyhow that’s another review. So, I went to Expedia and booked this hotel quickly. The check in was nice but the rooms; the rooms were a pleasant surprise. Comfortable beds, modern fixtures, good ambiance. I felt very comfortable and secure. There is a restaurant on the next floor above the lobby. Very nice dining. The prices are reasonable. Listen fellow trip advisors, I like this hotel.
The staying in Barcelo Hotel Casablanca was very pleasant and enjoyable for us. We liked the location very much. The service people everywhere were very nice and polite. We liked the breakfast very much. There is only one issue is the elevator hopefully for our next trip to Barcelo will find it done. I 'd like to appreciate the Management of Barcelo Casablanca hotel -about the good atmosphere and the great hospitality during our stay .
Barcelo casablanca was superb!!! After reading reviews I was not sure about my choice but after having stayed there I must say I was satisfied! Our room was renovated and beautiful! Bed was very comfortable, pillows not so much...(this might actually be the only negative) Perfect location, nice staff, great bed, beautiful bathroom and safe!
We had travelled for 19 hours and wanted a quiet, well appointed hotel to catch up on some long needed sleep. Shower first was the order of the day and it was excellent. We had a great night's sleep and refreshed for the start of our 21 day adventure around Morocco
DO NOT STAY AT BARCELO CASABLANCA!!! Here are details of our recent 3-day experience: 1. After we checked in on Thursday and went to the room, the safe would not work and the third bed for one of our travelers had a hole in the middle because the mattress support slats were missing. When I called reception to report these problems, the clerk hung up. Thinking that the clerk did not understand my request in French and English, I went down to the lobby and eventually a repairman was sent to the room. He got the safe going, but tried to reposition the mattress slats and could not get them to work. There were too few slats and they kept falling out. I again went to reception and the clerk reluctantly agreed to send housekeeping with a different bed. The replacement bed had no holes but was lumpy. 2. Later that same day when we returned from lunch, the elevators did not work and none of the keycards would open the door of our room 409. I went to reception for new keycards. These keycards also would not open the room door. Then, a desk clerk came up with another set of keycards which also would not open the room door and he called a repairman. The first repairman was unable to open the door as well and promised to return with a new lock. When he did not return after an hour, I went to reception and was told that another repairman was being called. This new repairman came and dismantled the lock and went looking for parts. He returned an hour later, tried to reassemble the lock. When it did not work, he announced that the lock would not be fixed until the next day. Under these circumstances we were captives at the hotel; we could not leave belongings unattended to explore Casablanca. So we could either live in a room without a lock or move to another room. The repairman said to call reception for another room which I did only to learn from the desk clerk that the hotel was fully booked and no other rooms were available. The clerk hung up on me. I went down to reception and blew my top, demanding that the hotel find another room for my family. Other guests were listening to my loud recitation of what happened to us which resulted in a more senior gray-suited hotel official to come out from a back room and tell me that they would move us to room 209 right away. Shortly we were moved and hotel management came with a bowl of fruit to appease us. All seemed to be resolved, BUT THE ENTIRE LOCK SAGA TOOK ALMOST 4 HOURS because the elevators did not work! 3. Room 209 turned out to have a bathroom outfitted for handicapped guests with no shower walls only a curtain and drain in the middle of the floor. When we started to take showers on Friday morning before an out-of-town excursion, we discovered that the floor drain did not drain properly. Even though the shower curtain was drawn and nothing was blocking the drain, the floor filled up with water and eventually spilled out into the room. We tried to mop up the spillage with all available towels and bathrobes. We informed reception of the stuffed drain as we left for our excursion. The water was cleaned up and drain repaired by the time we returned late in the day. 4. Barcelo Casablanca has a prominently displayed illuminated sign in the lobby which announces that they change foreign currency and provides rates. Friday evening I went to reception before dinner to change several hundred dollars to dirhams. The reception clerk seemed surprised at my request and started to rummage through the cash drawer, telling me that he did not have enough cash on hand, but could partially change $100 into dirhams with the remainder available when we returned. He said the desk would have more cash after 10:00 pm. When we returned after dinner, the clerk gave me the remainder of what he owed me, but said that no further cash was delivered, but it would be available the following morning. 5. So on Saturday morning, I again went to the desk to change money and again learned that changing dollars to dirham was impossible. I was informed that all banks were closed. A porter escorted me to a currency exchange a few blocks away. This currency exchange was experiencing computer problems and was unable to change money. When I returned without dirhams to the hotel, I asked the clerk for advice where I could find a working exchange center. She shrugged and told me to go the center of the city where there could be currency exchanges, but she could not advise on a specific exchange which had funds on hand. Unlike in other international hotels where desk clerks would try to help a guest in need, the Barcelo clerk did not offer any help and we were left to fend for ourselves. My frustration reached a boiling point. I wondered aloud why in a country where banks were closed on Saturday and currency exchanges were rare, a hotel would not have cash on hand for its guests. The desk clerk ignored my comments. This time no senior hotel manager came to my rescue. Saturday evening the elevators were again working sporadically!!! 6. Barcelo Casablanca is poorly managed and poorly maintained. The reception staff has no idea of guest service and seems to go out of its way to be unhelpful. They speak Arabic, French and Spanish, but limited English. Clearly, they do not want and do not deserve repeat guests. There is nothing good about this hotel. DO NOT STAY AT BARCELO CASABLANCA!!! We were glad to leave Barcelo Casablanca this morning and put this horrible experience behind us. Fortunately, we stayed at a lovely riad in Marrakech which showed us the warmth and service possible in Morocco. We will return to Morocco, but never to a Barcelo hotel.
I was in Barcelo Hotel Casablanca ,for two weeks last july ,so the staff were like my family i see them every morning ,and evening ,they are kind and helpful .one day i was sick and i did not get out of the room ,they miss me and ask my collegue :) . I love their breakfast its rich and yummy .the girl serving in the breakfast is very nice . The bath room is clean and they have one of the best body lotion and shampo i have ever used ,it's made with argan oil ,and it smells really good . I wish they had a sweemming pool ,it's the only they missed there ,i had a long day at work and i need to go back to the hotel practice sports.
We stayed in the hotel for 5 nights . The room was big and clean ,the bed comfortable and the staff nice ! Although the breakfast was excellent the other meals (we had dinner there twice)were not good - poor quality and bad cooking . The location is also good ,near the residencial area .
A nice hotel, in the center with many coffee shops around and not far from shopping area in massira khadra. food was delicious with a big variety in breakfast, big room clean and tidy, staff friendly.
We stayed at Barcelo Casablanca for one night and it was great. The rooms were big and clean, the room temperature was perfect and the beds very comfortable. The receptionists - Zakare was outstanding, he really went above and beyond to make our stay lovely and thank you Mafoud for all the lovely peppermint tea.
