Staff weren’t helpful at checkout Very good breakfast

Despite the Staff being very friendly and caring, the Wifi did not work well; as soon as I checked in I had to call the reception twice, they told me the technician was coming, but I just ended up going downstairs where a person at the reception took my phone, did somethin and then the Wifi worked (but only on the phone, I could not connect it to my iPad at all and I did not have the time nor desire to fix this issues, the phone was enough). The morning after I had no water in the sink, nor shower. Wifi was still very jumpy. Then at check out, the credit card machine was not working and I believe they charged me twice for the wine I had from the mini-bar. I will have to double check on this, but I received two different emails from my bank with the same transaction. One of the pillow covers had a stain and the windows had fingerprints (now, I had specifically booked a room with a nice view).

Great staff, very clean rooms & centrally located

Staff is very friendly and nice, maybe a little abrupt at times (light out at the bar when you're still having a drink). The rooms could be a little cleaner, but the damage is having finger marks on windows, nothing nasty. Location is great, breakfast gets old.

The city was OK. I expected more. It's actually a very dirty city and if you're a female, expect to be harrassed. The hotel staff was not very knowledgable of the city, which is odd and English was not a language many spoke. But aside from that, the hotel was very good.

We were staying in Casablanca en route to Marrakesh and selected this hotel based upon reviews. It didn't disappoint - the rooms were large and spotless (with excellent views of the Hassan II mosque and downtown), and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It was air conditioned (a real treat in July), and I was only disappointed in the lack of pool and fitness center. There isn't too much to do in Casablanca, and I felt that these would have added to the experience. We didn't try the food, although the restaurant looked gorgeous. In all, I would say it was a nice place to stay for the night - nothing special, but everything was up to par.

[...]Many thanks to the receptionist at the front desk (July 22nd evening, 2010), who was very kind and helpful. Please thank her on my behalf.

Excellent and Professional Front Desk - (The manager caught and corrected a billing error of the staff prior to our departure) Rooms were modern and immaculate Amateur Room Service and Dining Staff - (They have no idea what they're doing: missing entrees, no condiments, unable to fulfill simple requests the first time around, apathetic) As long as you avoid dining at the hotel you will have a wonderful stay at the Barcelo.

The decor is clean and crisp, very pleasing! The restaurant is quite good. Our room had a wonderful view to the Atlantic, overlooking parts of ciy. Wish we had more time to enjoy the city, only here for 2 nights.
