Like the previous reviewer, I cannot believe there is a negative review about this hotel. Unfortunately we only stayed one night and would have loved to stay longer. the hotel was very modern, rooms massive, with two large beds. There was a fridge, air con, a ceiling fan and a furnished patio, with curtains for extra privacy. staff were very helpful and informative, showing us the animals hiding in the trees (sloths and a boa constrictor) and alerting us when a troop of howler monkeys started swinging through the trees. The pool was very welcome after our hot journey from Panama and the pizzeria served delicious and reasonable food. The breakfast was very good and very cheap. I enjoyed relaxing in a hammock by the sea and we really liked Cahuita as well. The hotel is walking distance to the national park, which was well worth a visit. I cannot think of a single thing we didn’t like about this hotel. even the price was very reasonable compared to comparative places we stayed on our three week trip.
I usualy do not write review's but this time I decided to so because of a bad review I read from a customer. He called this place a dump. First of all the Italian owners with their lovely CR staff take really good care of the place. The room that we stayed was modern, spotless and had everything you need: AC unit, safe, cable TV, private terrace... Included breakfast prepared by the staff was great eggs, fruit, jam.... So calling this place a dump is quite unfair. I stayed with my family in Manuel Antonio in a place owned by americans that advertised them self as a hotel but was not close too a hotel. It was a humid dump. But i did not leave any reviews as I mentioned before I usualy dont comment on stuff. Im attaching pictures and see for your self the place is fabulous and so are the owners
Six of us stayed in two clean and attractive rooms for five days. The staff are great. The Italian couple who owns the place are friendly and run a fantastic restaurant. They have two boys who happily play with guests' children but don't infringe on any adult's enjoyment. There are over 30 kinds of pizzas but PLEASE try the pasta. It's home made and delicious. Dare I mention the Italian desserts? They are scrumptious. The pool is wonderful in the middle of a super hot day. The view of the ocean is to die for. It's so close to the National Park and a cab trip away from a Sloth Sanctuary which I loved. There's a shop where beautiful clothes (batik fabric) are made by a woman in the neighbouring town (Limon). You can buy every kind of "souvenir" you may want to take home. I will definitely go back. Don't forget your bug spray. Those mosquitoes are quiet and sneaky at night fall.
We enjoyed this small Inn located on the edge of Cahuita next to the ocean. This hotel is very family friendly, and it's very clean, with friendly staff. Our 2 rooms were spacious and had air conditioning, tv, shampoo, hot water and an outdoor patio to enjoy the view. The kids played in the small swimming pool that had a fountain. In the lobby, the best restaurant in town served us Italian food. Yes! Breakfast was Costa Rican traditional, bean with rice and natural flavors like bell peppers, eggs, fruit, cheese and ham (coffee & oj). OK, i fed the cute calico kitty the piece of ham and she ate the entire piece. In the surrounding trees we saw 2 toed sloths and howler monkies. Thete are hammochs in the yes by the ocean. There is no sandy beach right here but there is close by. We visited the fabulous cahuita national park twice, with a guide was best for wildlife viewing. It was only a few minutes walk to the park entrance where they request an entry donation.
My daughter and I stayed at this quaint yet modern inn. We loved that it was right by the shore. Granted, the shoreline is a bit rocky on the Caribbean side, but we loved hearing the crashing waves at night as it lulled us to sleep. The inn is right off the main road in Cahuita so we walked everywhere. Next door is the pizza place that the inn owners also own as well. Best pizza ever!!! And the breakfast (only $5) is pretty good, too. We were pleasantly surprised when a momma sloth and her baby decided to camp out on the property. We loved that the inn was simple and modern.
We booked an apartment with the ocean view. Upon arrival we were offered just one of the rooms on the first floor. When we politely declined and asked for the apartment with the ocean view, we were told that we could select from two apartments. Access to the apartments was through a gate with two large dogs inside, strong smell of dog urine along the way. The apartment we were shown had no ocean view except if you looked through a kitchen small window you could see some of the ocean remotely through the trees. Furniture was very basic. Parking is dedicated but not secured. Access to the beach is through a wooded lot, very poorly maintained. We were told the restaurant was closed for vacation. We left without renting, would not go back. One star hotel the most. Comparing to other places we visited it was a dump, sorry to say that. Check thoroughly before reserving.
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights shortly after Thanksgiving 2017. The hotel is located directly on the ocean and you can hear the waves crashing against the rocks through a line of trees. There is no beach, but the owners hung some hammocks to provide a serene and relaxing stay. We saw monkeys in the backyard trees one morning and in the trees in front of the hotel at another time. The hotel is located in a perfect location in close walking distance to everything important. The hotel also hosts a pizzeria that was closed for a week when we were there; right next door is a restaurant and many more restaurants and stores are within easy walking distance. The entrance to the Parque Nacional Cahuita is about 1/4 mile away. Almost all roads in town are paved. My reservation stated that I have to pay at check-in and that breakfast is US$5 per person per day. The owner told us that, if we pay cash, breakfast would be included, if I paid by credit card then we would need to pay for breakfast if we wanted it. We opted to pay cash. We had room 3 "Laura". It is a spacious modern room with a spacious bathroom and a view on the tiny pool and the ocean through the line of trees. The A/C was efficient and quiet. The room also had a powerful quiet ceiling fan, a TV, a fridge a TV stand and 2 chairs. Instead of a closet, there was a rack on one wall. The room had no safe, no phone and no beach towels were provided. The modern bathroom has a shower; ventilation is achieved through a small window; there is no fan. 2 bars of soap and 2 liquid shampoo/body wash bottles were provided. The water pressure in the sink and shower was low, the sink had only cold water, the toilet water tank took a very long time to refill and the toilet clogged up easily. The free wifi, that extends all the way to the hammocks when it works, was slow much of the time and did not work for a half day. The first day, we were able to connect our Android devices but could not connect our iPad. Our Android phones got disconnected every few minutes, the speed was slow once we were connected and on the second day we could not even connect until the afternoon. Breakfast consisted out of (per person): 3 small slices of bread, 1 small slice of sausage and cheese, margarine, marmalade (pineapple, strawberry and blueberry), 1 egg prepared your way, bean fried rice, 1 slice of water melon, pineapple and papaya. There was unlimited regular coffee, tea and orange juice. In front of the hotel room is a covered private seating area that can be closed off with a curtain. Parking is off the street in a marked but unsecured area. The police station is only a few feet away.
we stayed there for 6 nights, and absolutely loved this place! The rooms are big, super clean, with comfortable beds, nice views of the garden and the ocean beyond. The bathroom has plenty of surface area for your stuff, ladies! There is a small porch with sitting area in front of every room, to chill and enjoy the view. There is a restaurant here as well, where the owners cook amazing Italian food. We tried several dishes, and they were excellent. Plus, the owners, a young Italian couple are super nice, and make you feel so welcome, you feel like you are staying at a friends house. I will only stay at this place, when I go back to Cahuita!!!
A perfect place to stay to end our 2 week tour of Costa Rica! Small boutique hotel, warm welcome with great staff. Stayed for 3 nights in the first floor apartment with double bedroom, kitchenette, living space & balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens & rocky shoreline beyond. Fab restaurant onsite run by the great Italian hotel owners. Only short walking distance to the centre of town & the National Park with its lovely sandy beach. Garden was full of wildlife, monkeys, sloth, birds, squirrels etc
Our 5-night stay was marked with warm hospitality, immaculate cabin and affordable delicious food. Our host even lent his guitar to my husband when he inquired where he could rent one. The rooms overlook the ocean, and that rocky coast is simply picturesque. Plenty of fun wildlife to witness like sloths, howler monkeys and even an iguana. You must taste this little piece of paradise!
