Spent 2 nights at La Reginella and couldn't be happier with my decision. Alex was very welcoming and friendly, the views are amazing, and the breakfast spread was fantastic. If you have heavy bags (like I did) I would recommend hiring a porter to haul them up for you since it is about a 10-15 minute walk uphill from the Piazzetta.
This is truly a great value for money B&B on Capri. Two days before we arrived, the property owner, Alex, messaged us and asked how we were going to arrive at the residence. He provided very useful information to assist us in getting our luggage from the port to the hotel. Upon arrival Alex greeted us and was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. He also has two adorable cocker spaniels for anyone who is a dog lover. The room proved to be clean, well presented and cosy. Do not expect a large room but it is sufficient for a couple not carrying too much luggage. The beds were comfortable enough but I found the mattress to be a little bit on the harder side. So those of you needing a soft mattress for your backs you may need to search elsewhere. The bathroom was small but had amazing water pressure - a rare luxury in Europe. There was enough bathroom products as well for those of you concerned about soap and body wash. Breakfast was included in our pricing and it was excellent! The owners were generous with what was on offer and included a large selection of cheeses, salami, quiches, cakes and pastries. To top it off, seeing Capri at sunrise on the balcony is an absolute delight. However there are a few practical matters to be wary about this property. 1) this property is a good distance away from the main square. We are talking about a 700m walk from the main piazza with a slight incline. Those of you who wish to be closer to the action or are unwilling to walk that distance I would recommend looking for another property. 2) there are two paths to this hotel. The northern most walk is a bit longer but has a more gentle incline. The southern path is quicker but has a much steeper incline. 3) to get your luggage to this property I would HIGHLY recommend you hire a porter service if you aren't travelling extremely light or don't have proper backpacks. Porter services can be found at Marina Grande (look for the tourist information building and then find the adjacent blue vans with staff having the word "Porter" printed on their backs) or at the main piazza next to the bus stop. From the marina it will cost €10 to get each bag to the hotel. From the main piazza it will be €5. Well worth the money spent. 4) in the hotter months I would imagine there would be a lot more mosquitoes. Keep the windows closed and the air conditioner on if you're worried about them. 5) you will be given a 15% off voucher for the restaurant above the hotel called "La Palette". You can try it out or read my review. Maybe it might be better than my experience but my partner and I were not blown away by the service. Overall La Reginella proved to be a delightful family-run B&B on an otherwise pricey island. It is good value for money, has friendly management and most importantly you get to wake up to a great view of the island in a peaceful part of Capri.
We stayed here for one night. The owner, Alex, was extremely kind and helpful. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk outside of the city square. It is best to take the funicular up to the city square. Make sure you have your luggage taken to the hotel by a luggage porter (10E per piece). Well worth the price! Our room was clean and the wifi worked very well. The breakfast was very good, some of the goodies were made by Alex and his wife.
The hotel is great, recently renovated and small, but situated in a quite area 15 minutes away for the center of Capri. It offers a magnificent view which the guests can enjoy at breakfast. The rooms are very clean and spacious and you have the feeling that you are in s 4-5 star hotel and not in 2-star one. Alex was very nice and friendly . There is a restaurant in the hotel which we didn't try, but the breakfast we had on the terrace was very good. I will definitely go back to this hotel
We have stayed in La Reginella hotel for 3 nights and I must say we have spend a great time. The hotel is about 15 min walk from the Piazzetta and also from I Faraglioni. Rooms are very well equipped and also it offers a great infrastructure with a outside solarium and a inside shower ( available for guests who already have check out). The highlights are definitely the staff, amazing breakfast with a gorgeous view of Capri sea.
Excellent service. Rooms were clean & well equipped. Breakfast included was excellent . Dining settings on patio were stunning with views over Capri. Interesting history & decor. An uphill walk from the Piazza but easy to find & luggage can be collected for you. Thank you for very enjoyable stay!
La Reginella is a very well run small hotel in a quiet part of the town of Capri, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. We had a nice spacious room with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen of a high quality. There is a lovely view of a part of the island and the sea from the terrace where breakfast is served. We had a very pleasant stay for a very reasonable price.
Stayed here for a couple of nights and had the best experience. Hotel's staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is not too far away from the centre and has amazing terrace with beautiful views in which you can have breakfast or just hangout when you want. I would definitely consider coming back!
This is a very nice hotel, in a very nice location in Capri, offered a very nice breakfast and was reasonably priced too. The hotel and rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. I really enjoyed the very nice view from my room. I would definitely stay again.
Stayed there (again!) with my bf for few days when visited Capri. I stayed in this hotel last year when i was in Italy and i loved the view, price and breakfast was ok. In Capri you really always outside, swimming or hiking or shopping or just hanging out at piazzetta as a tourist. So really not much need to stay in a super fancy hotel. Recommend, please note its quite basic yet comfortable little hotel. Also note its on top of a hill - so if you are not into climbing hills with luggage (there are no cars in those small streets) dont bring too much luggage with you , its quite an exercise.
