Had never been to Capri before and selected this place on price value factors, but it turned out to be so much more. First, Alex the ‘host’ personally contacted us to ensure we knew how to reach the property and accommodate our bed requirements. Second we had an amazing garden ‘balcony, with two deck chairs, umbrella and table & chairs for enjoying the beautiful view and wine sipping. Finally the morning breakfast was a choice five start hotels could be proud of......the only downside was the upside.....climbing Everest to take the nightly slumbers was a real challenge for the physically impaired i.e. a fat person like me!
This is a lovely little hotel (more like a guest house/B&B) run by Alex who is always on hand and speaks excellent English. Emailed excellent directions on how to get to the B&B (taxi not an option as no vehicles in this part of Capri); email also enquired about dietary requirements. Be prepared for a steady uphill climb with your luggage to get there - I would say about 20 minutes. There is a nice little bar/café about 2/3rd's of the way there. Room & en-suite were small but equipped with tea/coffee making tray and hairdrier in bathroom. Small terrace with table & chairs with a good view of the sea & mountains. Lovely breakfast - good selection of salamis/ham/cheeses plus lovely cakes, pastries and quiche. Coffee made on request (which we didn't get in either Rome or Sorrento hotels) and served on terrace - again with gorgeous views. Only downpoint for me is that Alex feeds the gulls and they are constantly around the terrace and I have a bit of a bird phobia.
We walked a little farther to get to this hotel on the quiet (no cars) side of the Island. Glad that we did. Alex is very helpful and La Reginella good and fairly priced. Really good breakfast! Not a bad walk to the beach.
We spent two great days in Capri. Beautiful views and pleasant stay. Very good breakfast. Kindly staff. The rooms are clean. The hotel is located in quite area and it's perfect for a relaxing. Highly recommended!
Excellent hotel, a short climb up from the "piazzetta", Very good location, close to Arco Naturale, Villa Jovis , villa Fersen and far to the tourist crowd , this lovely hotel with one of the best views of Capri we found . Our room ( n*15) was nice, very clean and comfortable with a private terrace with a fantastic sea view,. Excellent breakfast with fresh cakes and pastries which are delicious! .Very helpful staff, the manager Alex is very friendly . Overall, a wonderful place to stay, I would return any time .
The hotel granted my friend and I a relaxing stay in Capri. The manager was extremely friendly, facilitating communication prior to our arrival with detailed directions on how to get to the island of Capri, how to navigate and find the hotel upon reaching Capri and even asking if we had any gluten-free preferences for the complimentary breakfast. The hotel boasts incredible, dramatic views of Capri and the Mediterranean Sea. The walk from the main Piazza to the hotel provides gorgeous views. The staff was friendly and I would recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Capri for a nice simple stay!
With a 14 day holiday on the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrentine peninsula 3 nights we were at Capri in La Reginella and it was the best hotel of 6 hotels from all over. Room number 16 with sea view, Monte Solaro and garden. From the breakfast terrace even nicer view. Clean room with kettle set of coffees and teas plus water in the fridge.Spacious breakfast of 10 types of cheese, 4 types of salami, cereal, croissants, bread, various juices including one orange juice with fresh oranges squeezed in place.10 kinds of cakes including delicious mint in green color. Close to Arco Naturale, Villa Jovis and a 15 minute walk to the bus to Anacapri. Great quiet place to rest and stroll, we recommend to everyone. Owner very helpfull. Thank you for a nice stay. Wish we did not go twice in the same place but ,, never say never
What a lovely place to stay in the highlands of Capri. A short climb up from the town centre, this lovely hotel with bags of character boasts one of the best views of Capri we found. Our room was clean and comfortable with a small private terrace and a good sized bathroom. Brits will also be happy to hear that there's a kettle in the room with tea and coffee! The highlight of our stay, however, was the breakfast. The manager Alex (very friendly and helpful) is a keen chef and regularly bakes fresh cakes and pastries which are delicious! These are complemented by local fruits and italian meats and cheeses. Very difficult to find a negative, the only improvements we could think of were slippers in the room and perhaps a heater on the breakfast terrace as it can get a bit chilly. Overall, a wonderful place to stay, would give a very strong recommendation and would definitely come again.
This hotel made our Capri experience perfect. We had a room with a terrace with see view though we did not book or pay for it explicitly, the air conditioning worked perfectly as well as shower. But the absolute highlight was the breakfast buffet with fresh home made cake and Italian dolches, mini croissants, fresh pressed orange juice, several sorts of market-fresh cheese and ham and many many other delicious things. I have already recommended this hotel to everybody I know. The only downside to by honest is the Wifi which did not work perfectly but I think it is easy to fix.
We loved this hotel, great rooms, delicious breakfasts, great views from room balconies, and great hosts who really looked after their guests. The walk from hotel to waterfront and back again was just right for our daily exercise.
