I was with my family at this hotel and i have only good things to tell about them. The family owner is very cute and help you to do everything in the island... excursion some place to see, restaurant and many other things. Room was little but very very very clean that for my opinion is too important. Breakfast was good with lot of different choice of food. I suggest this place.
Pros: + great location steps from anacapri center as well as the two bus stops in both directions + the owner's son spoke English very well and was generally competent with helping guests + great wifi + shuttle pick up for free from the ferry in Capri Cons: - skippable breakfast. Sometimes eggs, sometimes not. Coffee was good. - pool was closed since they close it after September 15th FYI. - inconsistent supply of hot water in the shower - walls are very thin so if you're a light sleeper you might get woken up a lot
Really liked the hotel with just one minor concern. I booked two rooms for 2 couples at the same price. Ours was twice the size with a huge patio and large bathroom. Not a big deal as we used ours for pre and post dinner drinks. The smaller room was fine but may have been better to give us both similar rooms or charge slightly less for the smaller one just so no one feels short changed. Breakfast was very good, the Danish I had may have been the best one ever. If you are planning on having drinks on the patio go with wine as it's almost impossible to get ice on the island. The hotel doesn't have it and won't give you any from their bar. We got lucky begging at the 3rd bar we went to. They do sell bottles of wine at the bar fairly inexpensive and not bad 8.90 euros
We stayed two days and we really appreciate the hotel and the swimming pool. Everything was perfect, we really felt like at home. Carmencita team is really nice and super professional. A kids friendly adress to enjoy with a family. Thanks a lot !
We been there last year and we did not had a good experience at all. We book two adjacent rooms because we were travelling with my sister in low and my niece and they reserved us very small rooms with limited spaces to move around. We reduced our stay there and moved to a different place less than 500 meters away, centrally located. The Manager been unprofessional and showed not interest in problems resolving. Old style hotel, not very clean. They do not care much about travelers in particular during peak season, because of the high accommodation demand.
Hello everyone, We had a great time in Carmencita hotel in Anacapri Italy. It's really well localized with a stop bus just beside the hotel and a familiar environment. The poll is amazing! We had an economic room so we hadn't breakfast. We recommend this hotel! Thank you! Raquel
Probably the worst place we stayed in Italy. Really bad value for money on overpriced Capri. Rooms are small, double beds are two twins pushed together (not the most romantic). Rooms are noisy you can here your neighbours well and the doors slam when they open and close. Got woken up a lot. The selling point seemed to be the pool on booking but it turned out to used by everyone in the neighbourhood, and was unusably small and filled with screaming children (when we were here) - nothing against children having fun but if you are an adult without children looking to relax it's not very relaxing. We tried to sit by the pool and read anyway and got covered in mosquito bites. There are tones of Mosquitos around the pool. The location is close to everything though, I would not come back and wouldn't recommend this place to others. Incredibly overpriced food in the bar.
Nice pool with snack bar, staff is helpful with tips and advice about which sights to see, how to navigate the buses, etc. Convenient location. Definitely take advantage of their shuttle service to/from the marina. Lots of Italians staying there too.
I stayed here 3 days last year and had a wonderful time. I normally stay down in Cpritown at La tosca but they were booked so I figured I'd stay up in Anacapri this time which if you like it a little more quiet, you might prefer staying up in Anacapri. I picked this hotel as they had a pool, even though I always do alot of swimming in the sea while staying on Capri. I love swimming at Marina Piccolo and at Da Luigi (very Expensive 35 euro for a Chaise Lounge) ... Even though I did a lot of swimming down at the beaches, I liked taking a dip in the pool at Carmencita when I got back to the hotel in the early evening after having a couple Aperol Spritzs at a Bar or Caffe in the Piazza Umberto ... So anyway, a bit more about the hotel; it's nothing fancy, but it's a cute little hotel that brings you back in time (the 50s & 60s) .. The hotel is very clean and reasonable priced. The staff is nice and accomadating, you get a nice breakfast in the breakfast room everyday, and again, the pool is great. So, as I said, I had a wonderful trip to Capri again ("I Love It" !!!), I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Carmencita and defineatley reccommend it for anyone considering staying here. Daniel
