The Mansion at Ocean Edge

This hotel was overpriced compared to other places on the cape. We spent half our time here and half our time at Chatham bars inn and the mansion did not compare to Chatham bars inn. It was outdated and our room was musty and super over priced IMO

Great way to start our summer off! Beautiful pools, nice access to the bike trails. On-site dining left a lot to be desired. But there are plenty of off-site options.

This resort has many levels of accommodations and services. Some are grand. We were looking for above average accommodations and some quiet time. There was the quiet time. The accommodations left much to be desired. We found not a single piece of paper, except toilet tissue, in the villa. We found nothing special in the kitchenette--no napkins, salt and pepper, dish towels, paper towels, etc. There were minimal number of dishes and glassware. No what we expected.

The resort has an excellent reputation so we were willing to pay the relatively expensive price. However, we were very disappointed with our experience. Yes, the buildings and grounds were gorgeous, Our accommodation did look nice - at the first glance. However, slightly close inspections shows many maintenance problems one might find in a motel, but not expect to find in a place that advertises itself as a luxurious resort. For example, the hallway light did not work, the security hinge on the back door fell off when I tried using the back door, the bathroom water dial fell off when we try using it, the internet barely worked, we were told to dial 0 on the room phone whenever we want to connect with the front desk but nobody answers when we tried it. The $18 buffet breakfast option in the main building looks very promising. The dining area is spectacular. However, the serving staff was not helpful - did not even offer the option of order items off the buffet. The buffet itself was terrible. For the money, the buffet only offer very few items -scrambled eggs, sausages links, beacon, hot oatmeal, some fruits, toast/bagels and some muffins. More importantly, the quality of food is equivalent to low quality cafeteria lunches. I expect cheaper but better service/food from local dinners. We are extremely disappointed with our experience at the resort.

The only one issues is you could not use the resorts beach unless you stayed on the mansion side. Grounds were kept up very well and beautiful. The condo was very cleaned. The staff at check in and check out was very cheerful and friendly.

Overall we enjoyed the Villages and would stay here again. The check in process was a little slow and we could not check into our room until 430 after complaining about he wait. However the staff was very friendly and accomadating. The ability to have access to all the amenities was nice and the private beach is nice for a few hours. The access to the rest of the cape is great and Brewster is a nice town. Our villas was very nice and the beds were very comfy and clean. Restaurants are on the pricey side for the quality, however the views are great and you are paying for the atmosphere.

Beautiful grounds with lots of open spaces made for a relaxing visit. Shuttles were available for easy access to the resort and shopping area. Rooms were large, clean and had nice views.

Nothing better than a trip to Cape Cod to get away from Southern California! The Villages at Ocean Edge Resort is a beautiful resort. Be sure you rent a car so you can enjoy the area.

Hotel was nicer than the pictures, took my grand kids swimming and they loved it, food was excelent

We had the lower level villa with a family above us that had several children. Was very noisy at night. Shuttle buses not available before end of May.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. We were there at the end of their season and they were closing down for a couple of months before Christmas week. So needless to say it was quiet which was wonderful. Great location but this time of the year but a lot of businesses are closed for the season. We met friends for dinner in the tavern and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful with suggestions on the menu and drink menu. The menu is a traditional pub style menu so if you are looking for more this is not the restaurant for you. The fish & chips were very tasty and one of the burger choices was a big hit.

room very clean, view tremendous and landscaping was very well kept up. Our room on the golf course was a good 1.5 mile from the main beach area which was the only downside.

We enjoyed our stay at the villiages at Ocean Edge Resort. Our room was wonderful. Only dissapointment was the pullout sofa bed was very uncomfortable for our son. The resort had many activities and things to do. Still not sure why a $25.00/day resort fee was charged. You still had to pay a fee if you golfed or played tennis.everything else was complimentary. I guess it was for the shuttle bus, beach towels, grounds upkeep. The only other disappointment was you could not access the private beach if you didnt stay in the mansions. I think the resort should alternate the beach for guest use for the mansion or villiages.

I chose this resort because of it's proximity to an office I had to be in the next day. Could only be there a few hours, but I'd quickly return! Very comfortable room in a quiet area of the resort. The only downfall was the resort charge even though I arrived at 9:30 pm and checked out the next morning at 7:15. (Obviously no time to use the amenities...)

Our stay at Ocean Edge was disappointing. Our one bedroom "villa" was nice but there were some issues. It was a little tired. Drawer pulls were missing so we were unable to open some of these. The construction was such that there was little noise insulation. Not only did we hear the kids above us running around, but clearly heard every word their parents said. Also, the person in the unit next to ours kept us up all night with his snoring. The dishwasher was broken, the water did not spray, and the dishes did not get cleaned. The hot water ran out during an average shower, and the hot water at the pool locker room as well. The most upsetting issue was that although we were given pool and fitness passes at check-in, we were not informed that there was an additional charge for using the facility. We only discovered this while checking out, and additional $15 per person per day. This would be a huge problem for a family of four staying for a week. Also, this is the only hotel I know of that charges for Wifi. I would not go back.

We booked our weekend for a discount, given the late Fall date. Our room was more like a condo, with an almost full kitchen, expansive living room, large bathroom, even a very large master bedroom. We had a view of a pond. We were across the street from the main, old mansion, and far from the shore. More expensive units are located closer to the shore. We found the staff extremely solicitous, giving us rides beyond scheduled shuttle runs, responding to housekeeping requests, etc. The room was clean and quiet. It's a large development of condos, with a large golf course and various fitness centers and pools. It's not the historic Brewster B & B experience---its a great place to stay if you prefer modern, with the ability to cook for yourselves. I also visited the bar in the mansion, and it was really cozy and had the feel of a great place to hang out with friends.

Stayed in the condos and was more than comfortable. Location made the rest of the Cape easily accessible. Folks will be golfing until the end of Nov and the resort is complete with pool, gym, and restaurant. Good value.

The resort is beautiful, older, but most of the Cape is and that is the charm of it. There is a $25.00 resort fee even if you don't use it. This is common but the resort itself is somewhat overpriced. Even more so in summer.

It would have been helpful if front desk had described the four flights of stairs necessary to get to our room. We had difficulty with our luggage in and out. We were surprised and baffled when the server said we could not order a Long Island Iced Tea because it has too many different liquors in it, and that we could not order shots.

Needed one night to stay for a Bachelorette Party night down the Cape. Staff was awesome and gave us 11 amenity passes so that the girls who weren't staying the night could still hang out with us during the day. 3 bathrooms with that many girls was definitely a huge plus! Beautiful grounds and the villa was HUGE. Better than advertised.
