The location was great. The staff was excellent . The rooms were updated and very capey

We spent an extended holiday weekend here. Very few other guests at the hotel. The hot tub was closed and there was no daily maid services. The 2 workers that I interacted with were very friendly and helpful. We had a 2 room suite w/ living room and fireplace, with a deck overlooking then pool and ocean view. There wasn't enough room for 4 adults to sit together in the living unfortunately. Last time we visited the cape we stayed in the same hotel and had a similarly described room, but it had a much larger living room, a deck that was ocean front, and bigger bathrooms. Would go back again in the summer hopefully get the larger room we had in the past.

The Soundings is a former motel being converted to timeshare units. I say "being converted" because it is still under construction. It is in a perfect location, right on the beach, and convenient to most everything on the Cape. The private beach, outdoor pool overlooking the beach, and hot tub are lovely but the grounds are just beginning to be landscaped. They may have rushed occupancy in our particular room because there was still grit from tile grout on both bathroom floors and the gas fireplace was not yet connected. Our room was tastefully decorated and plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teens (2 bed/2bath). The balcony was large and afforded a beautiful ocean view. There were some missteps with housekeeping but I think it was a language issue more than anything. A couple of complaints are: there is no restaurant/coffee shop on thepremises any longer and there are only 2 gas grills for use so if you are planning to grill your own food for dinner, there may be a wait. Also, while there are beach chairs/lounges on the beach, there were no umbrellas for use. Front desk staff were friendly and check-in efficient. The 2 bed rooms are very pricey, too. All in all, a lovely end of summer getaway.

We had a 2 bedroom suite which we found very comfortable & tastefully decorated. The beach & pools were nice, unfortunately it was a little chilly so we didn't actually swim. I loved our adirondack chairs on the oceanview deck, a great spot to read or just enjoy the views. I didn't have occasion to deal with the staff besides check-in & check-out but they were very friendly at those times. i had been somewhat concerned about construction, but it was not an issue over the weekend anyway, & looked like it was probably winding down. The location was great & I would definitely go back!

Very nice hotel, great pool, beautiful room. Right on their own private beach. Constuction is going on so a little difficult to get luggage to and from room, but that was really the only downfall. Restraunt across the street and many others within walking distance.

Myself and soon to be pregnant bride came here for iur babymoon. We had all the comforts of being at home, and having the beach within 100 feet from our door. This place was nice and relaxing, no worries about young adults being loud and unruly. We found several resturants within 5 miles that we will visit again.

location was excellent price was also for being right on water but room was tiny and grounds were in shambles construction going on blocking view from outdated tiny"villa". has potential but wouldnt have stayed if had known place was going through renovations. ask for newer room because old rooms too old and smelled as such, window treatments broken no fan in bathroom and after shower whole froom condensated. didnt eat or use pools while there. know the cape well and have regular places to go to beach and eat.

In short, we had problems but they didnt care to correct anything. Rather literally ignored the problems. Dont really suggest going back there; but nice view. Rooms are ok not much comfortable for long stays but good for night stay if you are planning to stay at beach all day!

When we visited they were under construction and actually our room had some bugs running around. Some of my family members got bites as well. But they were good towards making a quick change in rooms. The new one was OK. I booked this resort only because they have an indoor pool, because we planned during a cloudy week and with kids, I wanted them to at least enjoy some pool/water if spending so much on a beach resort. No prior intimation that the indoor pool was closed for construction.... couldnt do anything.. such a waste of money! So we just sat in the room doing nothing!!! I would suggest this to others only because I booked this reading other reviews and my experience was not that good.... hopefully yours will be!
